> **Minpunten**: AWS has great services, but CloudWatch isn't one of them. It is noisy, and cannot mute scaling instances/containers automatically. There's better monitoring/observability software out there. Also, CloudWatch is probably one of the more expensive AWS services out there. I would like to see more transparency on where these CloudWatch costs are coming from. I do not like the dashboard prices. Visualization isn't sleek.

> Overall, there's better monitoring software out there. The dashboards are not visually appealing. I would like to see more cost transparency. I do like the integrations with the other AWS services like ECS and WAF.

Having application logs, metrics, and alarms in one place makes it much easier to figure out what's going on without jumping between multiple tools. Since it's part of the AWS ecosystem, it integrates well with the rest of our infrastructure and has been reliable in day-to-day use.

> **Minpunten**: The interface isn't always the easiest to navigate, especially when trying to search through a large number of log streams. Some features also have a learning curve when new to AWS, and it's easy to lose track of log retention and costs if they aren't managed carefully.

> My experience with CloudWatch has been positive overall. I mostly use it while investigating issues, checking application logs, and confirming that services are running as expected after changes. It's become one of the tools I instinctively open when debugging because it provides the information I need quickly. While the UI could be more intuitive, it's a dependable monitoring platform that integrates well with AWS and does its job well.
