Professional approach is to use existing proven tools like Google authenticatior or similar. Your custom developed 2FA app is not intuitive and over designed. No need to reinvent the wheel. Storing recovery keys moves any attack from online to offline. Think about where your users store the recovery codes and you see that you may create a weakness in the security - voids the point of 2FA in some ways (some not all). > > I have all the tools to replace Google mail and drive.
