Wat is MAXQDA?
MAXQDA is software voor de analyse van kwalitatieve gegevens waarmee gebruikers tekstuele en multimediagegevens systematisch kunnen organiseren, evalueren en interpreteren met behulp van vele innovatieve functies. Sinds de eerste versie in 1989 is MAXQDA een krachtige tool voor klassieke analyse van kwalitatieve gegevens en kennisbeheer. Het kan worden gebruikt met verschillende benaderingen, bijv. inhoudsanalyse, basistheorie en gemengde methoden. MAXQDA biedt veel tools voor het coderen en analyseren van gegevens en het visualiseren van resultaten.

Worth every penny
MAXQDA Qualitative Software
Opmerkingen: Software is very worth the cost compared to some of the other qualitative research softwares out there. Capability-wise, it has as much if not more functionality of similar software, but it is not the easiest to learn, but for large projects, can definitely get used to it.
Pluspunten:
Very effective software I used for qualitative research. There is a lot of functions with this software: 1) We coded various types of documents by using both text highlighting and click and drag boxes for pdfs, images, html, and many other types of documents. 2) I was coding with a team, so we could both code the same batches of documents to calibrate our coding together, seeing them side-by-side as well as divide the documents between the two of use within the same file.
Minpunten:
The user interface of this software leaves a lot to desire. The features are there, but it might take a while or not be intuitive to find. One such example is not knowing how to automatically organize coding folders until a couple weeks into using the software.
Eerder overwogen alternatieven:
Most feature rich QDA application for the price. An essential tool for oganizations of all sizes.
Opmerkingen:
The software offers excellent search features can quickly locate terms or combinations of terms and codes, and automatically add codes according to the user's specifications. I originally used it for work with non-profits and for academic ethnographic research. Now in my work as an analyst, I use MAXQDA to identify relevant information and references to programs and policies in a huge database of research reports.
MAXQDA is powerful tool for analysis and creating research audit trails in any research environment whether in private industry, government or academia.
Pluspunten:
The interface is very easy to understand which makes the software highly intuitive. Its layout and options for coding text and assigning attributes to documents makes it a very flexible tool that is very useful to academic and policy analysts working in the private sector and government. For the past 3 years, I have found a wide range of uses for MAXQDA including cataloguing and building connections between documents on our research department's harddrive, to assisting a local arts organization interlink video, photo and text for an archival project.
Minpunten:
The lack of a portable version that can be run from a USB key which would allow users to easily move among their own devices in the office, at home, or in the field. Restrictive licensing and the trend towards leasing is not conducive to long-term projects and data accessibility.
The best tool for your qual data analysis
Opmerkingen: I have been using it since 2021. I’ve tried its counterparts.However, MaxQDA is the best. It is useful for the qual data analysis. Now, you can even use it for your quan data.
Pluspunten:
I loved its ease of use. Everything is so clear and practical.
Minpunten:
The exclusion of transcription option. I bought it within a student pack option. Unfortunately, transcription wasn’t included in it. If it were, it would be the best.
A Constantly Evolving Data Analysis Software
Opmerkingen: I have used and watched the Software ant the development of it since 2013, from the late to the last most up to date versions. An expanding develpopment of functionalities, graphics and tool improvements gave me better understanding for the qualitative research that wasn't possible for me before. With the use of MAXQDA I have entered in a new era of research possibilities.
Pluspunten:
The plethora of tools that software provides the research community.
Minpunten:
From the start I'm excited with all the possibilities of the software so I can't say that there would be a feature, tool or function in MAXQDA software that I like the least.
MAXQDA is the sexiest software for your qual analysis you can only imagine!
Opmerkingen: I made my PhD dissertation entirely on MAXQDA, and my process of writing the dissertation is not possible to imagine without MAXQDA. It helped me to stay inspired during all these 4 years, which had been challenging for many reasons.
Pluspunten:
exceptionally user-friendly and sexy software for QUAL research! It has all you need and indeed inspires the process of engaging with the data.
Minpunten:
There are some bugs after the updates, but they are fixed by the team regularly
