Google Keep

Google keep is perfect for taking notes not the best for task management

Opmerkingen: I'm a very big Google fan and love their ecosystem that includes Google keep. I will continue to use Google keep for all my note needs and can't wait to see what else Google can come up with

Pluspunten:

Google keep is one of those pieces of software that you cannot live without if you are part of the Google ecosystem. It is integrated with all the other applications they offer and that makes everything so seamless

Minpunten:

It's hard to really give this thing a con because it says right in the name Google notes it's created for taking notes and it does that perfectly. No matter where you take your note if you're connected to your Google account you'll be able to access that from anywhere. It's not the best when it comes to task management or project management but again that's not what the app is designed for

Best Note-Taking App for Free

Opmerkingen: I have been using Google Keep for a few years now and it's going to remain my favorite and go-to no frills note taking software. It is also absolutely free to use!

Pluspunten:

I love that Google Keep is free and can be easily integrated with other Google suite softwares. It is easy to use to take quick notes and/or to create a to-do list with dateline reminders.

Minpunten:

For my needs, there isn't any features about Google Keep that I dislike or am missing. I decided with Google Keep after having looking into several other softwares and am currently quite satisfied with it.

What a strange little product--but I use it every day

Opmerkingen: Keep really doesn't know what it wants to be -- a to do list, a stick notes app, or a web clipper to compete with Evernote, or what? All I know is that it's pervasive across all my devices and installed on my Pixel phones, so it's super handy and the default when I need to get something out of my head, so despite all these short-comings, I still use it and will "keep" using it (haha, sorry for the pun).

Pluspunten:

Keep is dead simple. Write a note, maybe make it a list or add a picture. No learning curve, no saving, no files or folders. You can add colors or labels if you like, but what I love most is the powerful search built in that instantly brings up one of my hundreds of notes, even archived ones. I do use the colors as well with a pretty deep system of categories, but I ran out of colors for new categories a long time ago because of the limited number of choices.

Minpunten:

Keep drives me crazy. New features are very rare. You can't even do rich text formatting! Lists are totally inflexible other than simple indentation for a pseudo subtask motif.

First note-taking app that comes to mind!

One of the biggest Pros of Google Keep is its ease of use. Every time an idea strikes, I run to open Google Keep, be it on the web, or mobile. Another Pro is its unending capacity to store my thoughts, ideas, todos, as quickly as I can. I can always go back, search and refer, or move my notes to other big apps with more bells and whistles. I love Keep for what it is at its core - easy to use and simple interface. It's also quick and fast in syncing across devices. I use it all the time to shoot my videos for my YouTube channel.

It's dashboard is pretty clunky. I would love to have a bit more ways to 'view' my lists.

Pluspunten:

Great for notes taking whether by audio or text. Its great for a things to do list where you can just tick what was done and move on. The archive function is great especially for something annually, you can archive and then uncheck all items and start again. What I love most is that it can be linked to my gmail account for access wherever I am in the world and that I can share my notes with others.

Minpunten:

There's a character limit hence one has to be careful regarding recordings and note taking. It seems as if its mainly to be used for small note taking.
