Best browser for business - don't be fooled by Chrome

Edge is a fantastic browser - fast, stable, robust, customizable, not littered with ads like Chrome. Any organization using the 365 ecosystem should block all other browsers and just have employees use Edge, especially with all of the customizations and security controls available to IT.

Minpunten:

Just that it doesn't have the brand name recognition of Chrome, so employees think it's a downgrade. But it's not - also uses the chromium technology! With copilot integration it keeps improving. Learn and use it.

Not the best option, but it's good

Opmerkingen: I don't usually use Microsoft Edge for my daily browsing. I mainly use it to modify PDF files that you can't modify in other browsers, only with apps.

Pluspunten:

I like that Microsoft Edge has AI features integrated in the app, and that you can also modify PDF files with basic features.

Minpunten:

I don't like the fact that you cannot uninstall this browser on Windows devices. Also that it takes every single open tab as a different app (when you hit Alt+Tab).

Overall good web browser

Pluspunten:

I like the amount of control you have with intune and group policy. It’s typically quick. It syncs data to even mobile devices.

Minpunten:

I don’t like the autofill suggestions always being there. Can’t figure out how to get rid of specific things like when there are typos or something I don’t want saved. This could be a security concern because passwords could be displayed unintentionally if a password was accidentally entered into a wrong field and cached.

Opmerkingen: I mostly use Microsoft edge as a pdf viewer. For that it has been great.

The tying in of Microsoft edge to windows, Copilot, and other Microsoft products has led to bloat that is unnecessary.

A fast and reliable web browser

Opmerkingen: Edge supports all the websites without any issues and also allows to select from multiple themes like dark or light theme offering more customisation to the user interface

Pluspunten:

I have set it up as my default browser. Edge saves history of closed tabs even if you close it all by mistake it can all be opened in 1 click. The vertical tabs options helps to keep the tabs organised more organised and easily accessible

Edge is setup as default browser by my organisation hence I use it daily the interface is good, and the loading speed is quick for browsing

Sometimes the site loading speed is low, and I need to clear cache to load the site

Edge is underrated and deserves all the appreciation

I first used microsoft edge about 3 years ago when it replaced the old internet explorer which is infamous for having some serious problems. I was always a Chrome user and out of the blue, I decided to give it a try to Microsoft Edge. To my surprise, it genuinely outperformed Chrome in every single way using less resources and battery overall. That still holds true to this day. I use my laptop quite often to get my work done and I don't always have power outlet near my place so it is very crucial to use a browser that isn't power hungry. Chrome in comparison used way more power and ram astronomically high resulting in poor battery life. I also encountered a variety of bugs and errors on Chrome which is frustrating. Features on Edge are useful and unique and I regularly use it. I would recommend everyone to use Edge as it is really underrated.

Minpunten:

Frankly, I don't have any bad experience with this lovely browser. Maybe, there were a handful of instances but I didn't really notice them. I would say the browser is speedy and don't get laggy.

I think Microsoft Edge needs to improve its search results. They are just not as good as Google.

My new default browser after a long time

Pluspunten:

After the new redesign, it became very fast. I can easily have over 20 tabs opened at the same time, I can also group them in the tab bar. The best thing in a browser is also the possibility of re-opening tabs if there is a crash, and Edge is very good at recovering. Also, the new Copilot right bar is something I am using a lot.

Minpunten:

Some tabs consume a lot of memory, so I had to upgrade RAM to 32GB overall in my PC. The Copilot bar must be updated, it is limited to 4000 chars and does not always access the full content, specially in pdf files opened in the browser.

It's beneficial.

But mostly......it's reliable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING MICROSOFT EDGE BROWSER.

What I liked most about Microsoft edge was how easy and simple it is to navigate to where you want to go. My other favorite feature is Windows rewards where you answer daily questions and other polls to gain points which allow you to redeem prizes.

Microsoft Edge - Easy to Use, but kind of Useless

Opmerkingen: Simple interface but can be overwhelming initially. Lack of extensions, but still seems to have compatibility issues with some websites, may be a deal breaker for you. TBH most of us are going to stick with what we have, but if you want to try Bing AI they're holding it hostage. You are required to use Edge to access it.

Pluspunten:

I'm on a Mac, so dont get Edge as the default browser. I downloaded it because they wont let you use Bing AI otherwise. I use ChatGPT, You Ai, Perplexity, Claude, Bard, and Playground all day, every day. Bing is actually much more succinct than the other tools, has updated search results, unlike ChatG, and can display tables. Since I haven't added many extensions, search results are clean and uncluttered. It's also pretty fast and has lots of ways to organize bookmarks, tabs, etc but I haven't used the features yet.

Minpunten:

Too many options and quick links on the main page cause straight up chaos if you're doing research and need to get search results quickly. Edge also doesn't have as many extensions as Chrome, so you cant really customize it and expand its performance. This is a doubled edge sword, however, since extensions can create conflicts with certain sites and ruin the search experience. Also, it's apparently slower than other browsers but seems robust to me.

Microsoft Edge Is Great For Everyday Use

Pluspunten:

Microsoft Edge is such an easy tool to use everyday. We use this all day every day. There are times that I find it easier to use Edge vs Google. It's very easy to use edge with multiple tabs up and going all day everyday.

Minpunten:

Some of what we do is done strictly in Google. We use Google sheets on an everyday basis. If Edge came out with something like that, it would be highly helpful and beneficial.

Best search engine available

Opmerkingen: My overall experience with the app was great as I do lots of intensive research on the Internet for my business development. Microsoft Edge has been one of the best search engines which gave me a smooth internet surfing experience and saved a lot of time. Now I can also access my old search history with just in few clicks. All thanks to Microsoft edge.

The software has a great interface with multiple navigation options between different pages and tabs. It is compatible with Android as well as windows devices which will give you a smooth internet surfing. You can log in to the software and sync it will all of your devices and get that fast and quick browsing experience.

Minpunten:

The app works fine but one thing I noticed is that it lags a little bit when the Internet connection speed is average and sometimes it is not able to open a few heavy pages quickly and struggles a little bit. Windows version of the software may need to be optimised a little bit by removing a few of the bugs like downloading speed can be improved if compared to other search engines.

Strong but underappreciated browser and also easy to use.

Opmerkingen: Without a doubt Microsoft Edge is among the best internet browsers out there and it has a ton of special capabilities up its sleeve. Even if you've previously resolved to avoid using Microsoft's internet browser, Edge is the best safe alternative if privacy is your top priority. The main thing which i like is that it scans the websites and saves battery with efficiency mode.

After using a variety of browsers, I've discovered that Microsoft Edge uses significantly less RAM even while running many tasks.It's quick and stable. Strong privacy features like tracker blocking.It is more secure than any other browsers i have use especially Google Chrome.Ability to utilize extensions in private mode which was impossible while using other browser.I usually always use web capture and the built-in feature makes taking screenshots rapidly possible without the need any additional tools. Security for smart screens. The best part is that it has built-in feature that alerts you to websites which are not secure and have harmful data.

Main restriction it has less extensions in my opinion than other web browsers.I did not like the adverts, articles, and links that are crammed onto the home page and the top menu column also feels overcrowded with numerous options.Loading time is slow and all other thing are fine.
