Jackrabbit Dance is essential to our operations

Opmerkingen: We have been customers since 2012, and I consider myself pretty high level in the implementation of Jackrabbit's tools at this point. I'm glad to have Jackrabbit Dance for client management for sure. Having worked in other systems, I do not believe they are as appropriately set up for class sessions. While Jackrabbit may not be the best for one-off classes, it is definitely the best for class series or sessions with multiple classes being paid for all at once (or over the course of a few months through installments).

Pluspunten:

Without Jackrabbit Dance, I have no idea how we would manage our catalog of 2,000+ students. At any given time, we typically have between 250 and 500 active enrollments, and we could not manage the activity around class management, client management, and payments without Jackrabbit as a tool.

Minpunten:

I don't love the fact that one-off classes are managed under Events rather than under Classes. It has proven to be confusing to clients, so we typically don't use Jackrabbit for those types of enrollments. I would definitely prefer to be able to use one database management tool for all of our operations.

Very professional, even if it doesn't have everything

Opmerkingen: A big learning curve during initial setup, and some simple elements they are missing that seem obvious to include, but overall very happy with it!

Pluspunten:

- Jackrabbit has a great (and quick) customer service team. They walk you through step-by-step how to resolve any issues you have! - They have ample report options; all the basic needs you would need for a dance studio; plus ways to organize/order recital costumes and create recital performance orders which has been very helpful! - Their database experience for staff as well as the portal for dance parents looks very professional, and makes our studio feel like we are offering the best to our dance studio. - We also enjoy the ease of creating our classes and (with simple coding you can copy/paste and embed in your website) having them automatically appear on our website. - They have great articles for almost anything you could possibly need help with, plus incredible online training for new staff or those who would be moving up into managerial positions!

Minpunten:

- There are some simple needs for a dance studio that Jackrabbit Dance has difficulty with, such as creating private dance lessons (one-time or recurring -- although this is a new feature they are finally releasing), a way to customize how much a teacher gets paid based on individual class, automation for late fees being applied (they have automation for tuition posting and auto drafting but not applying registration/costume/late fees), and limited customization on the online registration form or portal registration. - Perhaps the biggest annoyance has been their email editor. Their new template editor is a BIG step forward! However, it is still clunky enough that makes me hesitant to stop using our normal bulk mail system like Mailchimp, constant contact, etc. (For example, Mailchimp/Constant Contact/Etc allow you to take a previously made template and easily swap out images, change the hyperlink on a button, or delete a text box from within the simple editor, vs. in Jackrabbit you have to make a whole new template anytime you want to change a picture or hyperlink, etc. In addition, there are still dumbfounding limitations to changing the text and font.)

Good reliable studio management system

Opmerkingen: Jackrabbit Dance is a good studio management system. It's reliable and works well for the features it has. Would love for it to do more but have yet to find a one size fits all needs system so we stick with JR.

Pluspunten:

Easy to use for managing our classes and the customer portal is easy for our customers to use. It functions well for our studio management and we love features like direct class listings on our website.

Minpunten:

Automation for billing only works for accounts enrolled at the time of the automation setup leading to missed billing. Having to delete or archive inactive students to decrease our cost to use JR. CRM is not included/incorporated.

Great for New Dance Studios

Opmerkingen: As a brand new dance studio Jackrabbit has been a lifesaver. Are there things I wish I could do differently or change about it? Sure. And it does take time to learn it to be able to fully utilize it. But it also has so many functions that for newbies has helped us solve problems in a pinch. As someone who has used Jackrabbit in other places, I'd say it does have it's limits. For studios like ours it's perfect because we are small team and just getting started. If we ever exceed 200 students or start doing more productions/shows, we may switch to something with a stronger website integration system because Jackrabbit feels limited on website display options. But truly, it does the trick, the Jackrabbit staff have always been helpful, and I like the control I have of building classes/billing.

Pluspunten:

I really like the level of control I have over classes, schedules, tuition, fees, etc. There is a lot you can do manually which helps with those unique situations a studio often runs into where we have multiple types of transactions and reasons, as well as different kinds of classes that all need to eb classified differently. I also like the dashboard with enrollment stats and due balances.

Minpunten:

1: It was advertised as something that integrates with Quickbooks but there is still a lot you have to manually do for every transaction to make sure Quickbooks reports the transactions correctly 2: I wish there were more ways to integrate it into a website and customize the display on a website.

Great for dance studios!

Opmerkingen: Overall, I enjoy using Jackrabbit Dance. They're very responsive in the Facebook user group and I appreciate their transparency around feature requests and the product roadmap.

Pluspunten:

I really like the dashboard feature, new calendar, and how easy it is to automate posting monthly tuition. The dashboard also has the option to adjust what sections you see plus create (and save!) a filtered view of classes. The calendar feature makes it super easy to get an at-a-glance view of classes for the day and easily check room, instructor, enrollment, etc. - this is a game changer for our front desk. We have two different types of tuition that get posted on a monthly basis and being able to automate that to run was a huge timesaver for us. I'm also really excited for the new email feature to go live beyond just template creation, I think it will make it a lot easier for us to send beautiful studio-wide messages.

Minpunten:

I wish the events feature was more robust - there are a lot of ways I can see our dance studio using this for pop up classes, special events, etc., but it's not quite there yet and requires some additional admin time on my part to use. I also wish students transferring into different classes were more seamless with billing, some of how that works isn't intuitive - our interim solution is to manually remember to go back and fix it, but thankfully our families are patient with us correcting any issues. The biggest issue our families (and admins) have is with understanding current vs future balance. It's not presented in a way that makes sense or is clear for families - we've done our best to educate families to always look at the due date next to a charge, but this is still one of our biggest struggles.

Highly recommend!!!

Opmerkingen: I just feel so thankful to have found a dance registration page for my clients that is so easy to maneuver through, to connect my website, to create my own app with, and most of all it’s super affordable. I love all of the different options provided for monthly payment based off of what my business needs. That’s really important because not every business is the same, my dance company is very different than others so it’s got options that is perfect for what I need. Another thing I love is how easy it is to speak to someone to help me through any technical difficulties I have. Sometimes I forget a process that I haven’t done in a while, and they not only help me through it, but also give me a recording of our interaction so that way I can save it to use in the future if I need help with that specific problem again.

Pluspunten:

It gas so many features for not only myself on the backend but also my clients.

Minpunten:

Compared to other companies I have tried, I really have no complaints.

Room to grow, but essential to operating my studios

Opmerkingen: Overall I am able to manage most of my school easily through Jackrabbit and I am pleased that they are constantly making useful improvements. Their recent upgrade to client messaging missed the mark, though, and has not given me the tools I need to make composing messages any easier.

Pluspunten:

Jackrabbit gives me many tools to understand how my business is doing and to easily communicate with families. Scheduling classes is easy, and they are linked to my website so that I don't have to update both when I make changes.

Minpunten:

The Recital Editor is almost very useful, but the UI is very dated and complicated, simply using modern fonts would make it vastly simpler to use. The fact that I cannot email everyone participating in a single recital is also infuriating - that functionality is pretty basic. I can create a list of everyone in a recital - why is there no button to email them?

Opmerkingen: We have had many challenges through the years, but have always remained loyal to JR as you are the leading software that can handle the volume, programming, and nature of our studio. The support is quick and helpful if we are in need of assistance.

Pluspunten:

Jackrabbit has been our studio software for 12 years. We are so blessed to be a part of a community that is always striving to make things better for dance studios. They are consistently working towards streamlining processes and features within the software, and it is great to have the support as our business grows and changes.

Minpunten:

There are many workarounds we have made since JR does not connect to most applications. An integration with google suite would be amazing.

Great Dance Registration Software!

Opmerkingen: Once I get the setting for my classes, etc. set, I like how easy it is to add and edit classes, charge families accounts, take attendance, etc.

Pluspunten:

I like how easy it is for the families to register and find things within their account. Our previous system was much more challenging for people to navigate and sign up for classes/find what they were looking for. Jackrabbit has clear options for parents in the portal and not too much extra stuff them to get lost in. I also like the ability to archive classes and families (who have left).

Minpunten:

I wish I my end it was a little easier to find my own setting for things like drop down menus for things like tuition charges. Navigating how my stuff looks is a little more challenging

Great platform for us!

Opmerkingen: It's been great! Parents can understand it much easier and i appreciate the custoemr service.

Pluspunten:

I like its ease of use compared to other programs I've used. There's a lot of great info available via video/articles and the customer support has been great so far.

Minpunten:

The search engine can be finicky. I dont like that when i schedule a makeup class i need to hover, not click, the class in the calendar. It's small but annoying.

Great software

Opmerkingen: My overall experience has been great. This software changed my business and the way financials and collections were done. It was an instrumental change needed to switch to jackrabbit.

Pluspunten:

The ease and organization of the program. It makes day-to-day tasks simple.

Minpunten:

The wait time for payment processing through the third-party.

I enjoy how user friendly the application is. There are constant updates that help improve your system and I love to learn about it!

Minpunten:

Sometimes I would like to have more specific reports with more criteria options. Or being able to do more tasks in bulk.

Could not run my studio without Jackrabbit

Opmerkingen: Excellent software program and super customer service support!

Pluspunten:

This software was the first I tried when I opened my studio, right off the bat I saw the value of having a pretty gram that allowed for online registration, collecting fees, communicating with family/staff, selling/inventorying merchandise, managing classes, and so much more!!

Minpunten:

I would like to see a way to track inventory of items with multiple sizes under one style number, ie, tights, shoes, leotards vs making an item for each size (Square has the option to add and track multiple sizes under one style number)

Simply your studio

Opmerkingen: We use it in our studio. It has everything we need from Student records to pricing. My teachers use it for attendance.

Pluspunten:

I do not use Jackrabbit to its full potential. We are a small studio. However the program helps keep my studio running and it is easy for the parents to access as well. Once you learn to navigate the program you find more things it can do for us. It streamlines everything and puts it in one place

Minpunten:

The set up process was time consuming at first. Everything takes time to do it right. But now, 12 years later it is easy.

Top tier customer support!!!!

Opmerkingen: It’s been challenging but the staff is amazing! The support they give is always top tier so despite the challenges or me forgetting the steps to do things every time I am on a call or chat I get the most amazing support and they all have such patience.

Pluspunten:

I like everything is in one place. I appreciate being able to automate payments, prior to jackrabbit we used a manual system.

Minpunten:

The complexity of the system it reminds me of android. I wish it was more user friendly like Apple. There are so many tabs and I wish all things related i.e. finances were easier to access.

Effective once mastered

Opmerkingen: So far, so good. But the cost of transactions and moving people to lead unregistered, and cost of the program seems a bit high to me.

Pluspunten:

now that I have "mastered" the use, I appreciate the efficiency

Minpunten:

Still seems a little dated in the use of it. Seems like there should be ways each user could use it as needed. For example, would like to be able to navigate the costume system more effectively

Its just okay.

Opmerkingen: Its an okay system, but there are a few things that i wish would be updated below.

Pluspunten:

Ease of use for class and student management.

Minpunten:

The inability to structure our discounts as needed, causing me to have to manually enter them to each family each month. The excessive cost to have the ability to sent mass texts. This should be a per text basis since its so occasionally. The way our invoices look to clients, they are not easy to read and are often confusing even for me.

JackRabbit is all I ever needed!!!

Pluspunten:

I love everything about JackRabbit! We are able to have everything in one program, from attendance to payroll. It helps us stay organized. It keeps us running efficiently and smooth. and did I mention how easy it is to use?!?!? What can I say this program has really been a game changer for our business and I would recommend it to any business owner!!!

Minpunten:

I really don't have anything bad to say about the program. They are always coming up with new things and making things better. I love everything about the program and how simple it is to use.

Great experience so far

Organizing all of our payments into one place for parents to see and track

Minpunten:

The appointment function doesn't seem to provide all of the capabilities we would need in order to make it work to schedule our private lessons. We are having to do it manually right now through events which is very time consuming. I also don't love the trial lesson scheduling system and it's a lot of double checking and manual work. It doesn't seem automated or easy to follow up with.

Highly recommend!

Great support and help center, parent portal function and staff portal functions. Office team appreciates the training modules and ongoing software updates.

Minpunten:

We would love to see a refresh of the recital module. It is great at identifying conflicts but having the rosters refresh to "Yes" is difficult to keep track of who is/isn't participating with accuracy.

We Love Jackrabbit at DDA!

Easy to use. Consistent upgrades and the links with other companies - Check In Pointe, Express Payroll, Mobile Inventor, Etc

Appointments option not being fully launched. It would make our lives easier if all private lessons could be in one place.

A great software that continues to improve!

Opmerkingen: I inherited a setup that was not done well, but with the help of tech support, we have finally figured out how to use Jackrabbit to best suit our business! I've been very impressed at how much the company listens to its customers and gives them what they ask for!

Pluspunten:

JackRabbit does all of the base line functions we need it to for our ballet school. As they are always adding new features and developing high demand functions, we will never go to another system. Jackrabbit is a great company that knows its customers very well and listens to them!

Minpunten:

Outstanding customer service!! The fact that live chat is available 24/7 immediately is the best I've ever seen.

One-stop Shop

Opmerkingen: Overall, my experience has been phenomenal with how user friendly jackrabbit is. My staff can be trained to use the portal in just a few minutes and the dance parents have no issues accessing their portal. It’s a one stop shop for everything a dance studio needs.

Pluspunten:

I love how jackrabbit keeps up with the needs of dance studio owners. They are consistently updating and adding to the value of their portal.

Minpunten:

The New Dashboard is typically empty on my screen and I need to go into the old dashboard to read information.

Consistent and Well-Needed Updates

Opmerkingen: The overall experience of Jackrabbit is fantastic! Even with some things that could be "better", the good far out weighs any improvements.

Pluspunten:

I really appreciate that JackRabbit takes the time to have consistent and updated features. I love that you can submit suggestions to make the software better and that the JackRabbit team pulls from that input to make updates. The reporting is something that makes a world of difference for us. We can use the information from reporting for so many different things. This is also the best software for large families with multiple students. My other experience is with MindBody and the family accounts are near impossible and a big hassle.

Minpunten:

I think there are still some things Jackrabbit could improve on but they are small improvements and not major changes. I would love the emailing system to be more detailed and allow for more differentiation. It is a pretty basic HTML email system right now. We have started creating documents in Canva and then inserting as an image just to make the aesthetic better. This is now causing a problem because that means the email is tagged as spam. I would also love to see the Recital editor updated a little more. For example, I want to send an email from a recital or I want to be able to add an intermission without it being counted as a number.

The ability to take payment through Jackrabbit Pay and set up automatic drafting. JR customer service is also the best.

The costume/sizes feature. I wish it was more updated and would take all of the measurements into account when auto sizing.
