These advanced features are only available as part of a high-priced package, so we have to choose according to our needs. The pricing plans are reasonable, and the protection is excellent. One of the most reliable brands and names in computer security.

To work properly and on full potential Nortin Antivirus, like its other counterpart softwares, consumes a lot of hardware resources like CPU and RAM making your computer work a bit slow..

It slows down my Windows PC, because of which I had to consider alternatives & currently, I don't use any anti-virus at all. I just keep in mind the sites I'm visiting. Windows Defender does the work as well for me.

Norton antivirus offers an affordable subscription plan and it's functions are topnotch, especially dark web scan. It has worked wonderfully well so far and we haven't had any issues with it so far

What I least like are the updates notifying of upcoming expirations for the application. It reminds you more than other apps do.

A surprisingly light weight antivirus solution

Opmerkingen: Norton ticks all the boxes for AV compliancy, it appears to be lightweight with competitive pricing. And finally, nobody got fired for buying Norton

Pluspunten:

Norton works mostly in the background without impacting user activity. We haven't been impacted by malicious software since installing (touch wood!) and the initial and renewal prices have been competitive.

Minpunten:

Having to trouble shoot adding a computer and user to the domain, which required disabling Norton momentarily. No warning or log entry were apparent and it took several hours to solve the issue. Slightly annoying web pop ups can occur infrequently and intermittently but only impact on productivity for the time it takes to close the browser tab.

The Best Protection For Your Money!

Opmerkingen: Overall, the experience has been fairly pleasant! the initial set-up is easy, you can set up when scans happen at any time of the day or night, and it's not too much of an inconvenience! I've had apps before like Avast where there's been constant pop-ups that aren't even helpful, and it's basically "ads" trying to get me to update to a high subscription package to get the best virus protection. Norton doesn't bug you like that, and let's you upgrade on your own free will. It runs in the background and sometimes you forget it's even there! There's hardly any notifications unless it's a malware issue or anything related to that, or idle scans. It's so nice!

Pluspunten:

Norton is always on top of everything. Even if you're not well-versed in everything that has to do with computers or the internet, Norton takes care of you and tells you if what you just downloaded is good or bad, if the web page you're on is good or bad, and also when your next scan is coming so you can prepare for it (i.e. closing down apps, software, etc. that you may need to save progress on).

Minpunten:

Sometimes it "overthinks" downloads and websites. What I mean by this, is I could be on a site that's trusted, and any and all downloads are 100% clean. But it will still mark downloads and sites as dangerous and will either restrict access to them, or immediately delete a download. And sometimes it's downloads that take more than 10 minutes to complete that get automatically deleted, so it's like a waste of time waiting for it to download, only to find out Norton deleted it soon after.

Norton provides a good basic security suite; their VPN is horrible, though.

Easy to use software for use as a security suite.. anti-virus, firewall, etc. Norton is essentially the standard that other security software is referred to..

Norton's VPN is horrible.. it slows down your internet connection to a crawl. Also, their VPN has to by turned on manually every time you reboot. It doesn't stay on.. I stopped using their VPN due to the internet speed issue, but still use Norton for their other features.

Under Norton's Protection

Opmerkingen: As a private user, I am very pleased with my experience with this security. Also at the same time the app does not take too much of my computer memory up either. I have had issues in the past with really bloated security software. Many times that would get in the way of using Art programs like Photoshop or Illustrator which have a high demand for cpu memory usage.

Pluspunten:

I like the warnings I receive that make me think twice about websites I visit. I think the user interface is simplified for anyone to understand. The ability to optimize the disks and clear out all the extra trash left on browsers is spectacular. I regularly use the application for scanning for virus's and I have not yet got one. Most likely due to the live Auto protect that shuts down any suspicious activity.

Minpunten:

My only real complaint is that I wish it had even more. I know there are other Norton products that could be added on to make it a more complete suite. For example a VPN perhaps. Other than that, I am pretty happy with the software.

Norton AntiVirus Usability Review

Opmerkingen: Overall experience is that I'm happy with the service/product as it works perfectly well in detecting and eliminating viruses.

We constantly scan any files that we download as a business. We trust the Norton brand because we take security seriously. I trust and download products online because I know that the downloads are virus-free. It is easy to navigate the tool, and all viruses are easily detected and eliminated. The Norton AntiVirus was easy to set up and use. I feel safe when I download any type of content. Whenever I download something, I get a notification letting me know it's been scanned and is safe. I downloaded the free trial and was really happy with how quickly I got my account set up and started using it. It would have taken me hours to try to find these files on my own, now it's easy.

Minpunten:

Sometimes it can be a bit complex to use as there is no manual to navigate the program, for less tech-savvy people it may be a hindrance. The customer service for this product is not worth the renewal. I had a terrible time with the customer service rep who did not speak English, and when I asked for a supervisor he denied me. It takes a long time to setup, and so requires some patience to complete installation.

Norton has Progressed

Opmerkingen: Norton has come a long way in keeping up with protecting computer users. I never use to recommend the software and was never happy about the need to keep up with all of the updates needed. Now things are more automated and have less undesirable things for me as a user to do.

I like the ease of use and that when you set it up you can forget about it and it still will protect your machine. Most of the computers sold have this software suite bundled so that helps make the decision.

The need to take away from my computers memory and processing speed to protect me while online. The processing power is used and that is not preferred.

Disadvantage to Nortons antivirus is its more expensive than it's competiters,is it only covers viruses,unless you sign up and pay for the firewalls and you have to remember that your disk drive is getting used and can wear down because it is running all the time and the amount of RAM which can cause other programs to slow down.I have found the time it takes to do a complete scan the first time can be very long and if you are new to technology,this can be frustrating.another downside can be uninstalling,If you attempt to remove Norton Antivirus,the uninstallation process proves to be difficult because it leaves traces of the program and continues to linger on the hard drive,this is where their competitors are ahead.

Yes, there are companies offering antivirus software for free but i am a firm believer that the quality of a product should justify the price, which Norton Antivirus does. It is one of the most sought after antivirus software available on the market, and rightfully so. My computer and mobile devices' performance is not affected in the least and it is instrumental in protecting against viruses. It features a multi layer protection approach further enhancing security and safety of crucial information. Downloading online has become less concerning thanks to Norton antivirus, keeping my devices virus free. Norton Security is Like Working with an Old Friend...Very Reliable

Opmerkingen: Overall, in the past, my experience was a good one with Norton Security. If changes had not been made to their customer service department, I would still be with them today.

Norton Security has served my company well over the years. With it's ease of use, I have become very use to it's reliability. In a recent case, maybe too reliable. Before I get into that, though, I would like to say that the ease of Norton is amazing. And, until recently, their customer service was surpassed by none. I had used Norton Security for my business since 1999 and been very happy with the product. Something, however, must have changed because the Norton that I had loved became a company that I no longer wanted to deal with and, unfortunately, changed security software.

It's not so much the software that I have been disappointed with , but rather customer service. When I originally started using Norton, customer service was phenomenal. On the few instances that our company had security problems, the folks from Norton were right there. Their IT staff was incredible and understanding. Our company is entirely online, so when something happens with security, we cannot work and that is a loss of money. The last problem that occurred, the customer service people were not as helpful as they had been in the past. It was this that made me re think Norton as a security system and whether or not I wanted to continue with them in the future. At present, I am using a different security software and like it. Will I give Norton Security another in the future? I could, but their customer service would have to change for me to come back.

Always feeling secure

As I mentioned previously with the near daily bombardment of threats of viruses I can feel safe knowing that I have Norton standing guard at all my doors, so that is one less thing I need to be concerned about! The best part of the Norton suite of security products is that it works 24 hours, 365 days a year. Even when I turn off the computer it stands guard so when I open back up it is ready. Whether is simple Malware, phishing or DDoS you are protected and that is of course of paramount importance. The programs are easy to use. Pretty much plug and play. It's nice to know that as complex as the program is Norton has made it easy for even neophytes to use! Integration is easy. There was a time when I got a new computer that was loaded with a competing antivirus program and they didn't play that well together. I was able to clear out the other one in favor of Norton. So transition was pretty seamless.

So I have used this analogy before. I feel bad because I don't make full use of what Norton has to offer. It is like having an 18 wheel tractor trailer available but I only need to go to the corner store. Norton has so much more than I need to use, but it is nice to know that not only is it there, but it is powerful enough to do whatever I might ever need to call on it for. So the question was is there be anything I feel is missing or could be improved? Not to me there isn't. I am a simple end user and it does everything I need and want it to do!

Norton is an excellent virus protection system but, it is not as efficient is detecting the rootkits than its competitors like Malwarebytes. I have used many other antiviruses also but, Norton consumes much memory while performing a regular or a scheduled scan. Thus, making the system a lot slower while performing any other task alongside it.

I've been using Norton/Symantec Security products for over 12 years, and their products just keep getting better and better. Norton Security, particularly over the past 5 years or so, has really improved. It installs clean, quick, and easy, and requires very little CPU and RAM resources to do it's job. The default setting are well-optimized for novice users, yet it offers deeper setting and configuration for those that have an understanding of things like firewall settings, browser security, etc. The mobile version of the product is also exceptionally easy to use and effective! Some of us older people remember Norton's early days of having issues with CPU resource requirements and uninstalls. Those days are long gone, and Symantec / Norton's latest products are smooth, efficient, and solid! In independent comparison tests against competing products, Norton Security continue to be a leading performer. Spend the money and give Norton a try! You will not be disappointed, and your data and security are well worth the small investment!

The one and only thing that bothers me about this product, is the occasional pop-up ads for other Symantec products / additional features. These can be selected not to show again, but as a paying customer, I do not like to see any pop-up's related to up-selling.
