Pluspunten:

The checklist and document creation features are set up to handle a practice such as ours where we get a lot of potential client calls. Document creation is smooth once it is set up. The intakes work well and the dynamic fields in the intakes keep improving. The ability to SMS from Neos is a real plus, but I was not satisfied with having to subscribe to Ring Central to fully use SMS.

Minpunten:

Neos is best used for non-litigated case files. It does not have a case calendaring system for any jurisdiction's rules. It schedules items on the weekends when we are closed and I must go back to check for any items set for the weekend to move them to a work day.

Could be Amazing, but they won't stop breaking it

Opmerkingen: Neos has created more problems than solutions for me. Although the features are impressive, they have to work correctly to be a feature. Help articles are a bit of a joke. For example, in coding templates with advance field codes in Word, Neos has examples of if->then functions in their help files. However, even with proper coding, the if -> then function won't always work. There have been some issues with documents coded with "ALL CAPS" fields as well, which is a common thing to use in legal documents. The code sometimes gets ignored entirely when "ALL CAPS" is chosen. You can submit tickets, but never really know what the status is once it's sent to "development."

Pluspunten:

Customization options are the best part of Neos. It has potential.

Minpunten:

Neos will slow down to unusable speeds, typically when trying to access the calendar view, but also randomly. The calendar is always problematic. After implementation of Neos, it kept altering our calendar, and some entries were deleted. That was terrifying for a legal firm. While generally I'd appreciate regular updates, if they are not fully tested, they should not be rolled out. Almost every update (other than small hotfixes) has caused numerous errors. Eventually, they will fix them, but the first week or so after any update results in error message after error message. Most recently, the error messages for "Failure to Load Data" or "Failure to Save Data" have become a nuisance. Be prepared to constantly refresh, reload, go to incognito mode, try again and still have the same issues. The document indexing between various views will show different documents (i.e. list view may show indexed items that no longer exist in the file). If you have a problem that is not a "system" problem as deemed by Neos, you will likely never hear back from "development" when your issue is escalated. I've had tickets open in excess of a year, and even with follow-up requests, no solutions. Often, technical support knows less about how to use the program than our end users.

Opmerkingen: We moved to Needles many years ago because we needed a much more robust plaintiffs personal injury case management software. NEOS does everything that Needles did and the service is excellent. We couldn’t ask for more.

Pluspunten:

NEOS is cloud-based and it does everything Needles did, and Needles was the king of personal injury case management software. What’s not to like?!

Minpunten:

Haven’t utilized it’s intake program yet so I can’t comment on it.

Needles Neos

Opmerkingen: Overall I like Needles Neos. I have used Needles in general for the last 6 years so its something that I know and feel comfortable using and havent had many issues that werent easily fixed.

Pluspunten:

I like that it is cloud based and I can log into anywhere I have cell or wifi connection. Helps when I need to work from home or if I am having to travel for work I can easily get access to what I need to assist in handling calls for work.

Minpunten:

Sometimes it glitches a lot and you have to completely close out and sometimes restart to be able to log back into the system.

Opmerkingen: The greatest problem Neos accomplished is the ability to fully use the software from anywhere. My employees and work from the office or their homes seamlessly. Features such as document management and Outlook integration has revolutionized efficiency in our law office. If we ever have an issue, the support team is very quick and helpful to resolve any issues that may come up. As an owner of the firm, I love being able to use my Dashboards to quickly measure the health of the firm.

Pluspunten:

Managing every aspect of my cases efficiently from anywhere. I love being able to track my Intakes and communicate with potential new client easily. I love being able to standardize the way all cases are handled in my office. Document management is extremely powerful. Full integration with Microsoft Outlook is awesome. I love the reporting features and dashboards that allows me measure KPIs efficiently. Our transition to Neos was quick and easy with great support from the Neos team

Minpunten:

Neos always is offering new features almost monthly. I commonly interact with the suggestion portal (Ideas & Enhancements) where user experiences and wishes are actively addressed and implemented.

Neos Works for You so You Don't have to Work so Hard

But when she came on board, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] stepped up and that has gotten us closer to the optimized point of fully using Neos.

Pluspunten:

Neos has been a true blessing to my law firm. First, it is intuitive. You can get started using Neos without too much training and then more training when you get more involved in all that Neos can provide. The Neos Staff, [SENSITIVE CONTENT]!, has just been awesome to deal with and has been right by our side during the harder implementation of Neos. It does take time to fully use all of the powers of Neos and we are still in that process. So we look forward to the time when Neos is fully powered up and working for our clients and for us!

Minpunten:

The integration and migration from our last software management system was difficult. But I do not think that is at the fault of Neos or the other company. We were using an antiquated system and the migration simply was not clean. And we are still working through that. But the point here is that Neos has helped us along the way with the challenging migration. And we appreciate it!

Great Reporting, Case Management but tricky forms customization

Opmerkingen: I like being a user of Needles and managing my cases with it. But, as we add practice areas and need customized forms and functions, it does require additional support.

Pluspunten:

I like that Needles gives you a lot of reporting capabilities, categories, and checklists to be able to manage cases better. It is robust in its customization options and is fairly user friendly on the front end.

Minpunten:

The difficulties are in setting up custom documents. The way the templates are made is cumbersome. And the checklists are tricky to set up on the back end so that they give you enough information to be useful, without being overwhelming.

Review of Needles Neos

Opmerkingen: Overall it took three days to convert our files into Needles Neos and once up-there are a totally learning gap on how to move through the system-where files were and how to even open from online, etc. Once that learning curve was ventured, then it was easier to move through it, however, there were more steps. . the help section and webinars are great tools and they have up-ed their game on that. .

Pluspunten:

I like that you can literally cut and paste from Needles Neos anything-like address, etc which you could not do in needles 4. . I like that you can access it from virtually anywhere and not have a server to access. . I do like how you can copy from your desktop straight into Needles and Sharepoint. . I also like that you can view files directly out of Needles Neos

Minpunten:

There are a lot more steps that have to be done and we were not taught how to access sharepoint (had no idea where our files were) and how to get a file from Sharepoint to attach to your email. . when you are in Sharepoint-Case File-you can't search like you can in Needles-have to write the whole word out, etc.

Totally Ignored by Lead Customer Service "Advocate"

Opmerkingen: Further, Needles techs initially thought the issue was our version of Outlook, and had our firm purchase new licenses for all our uses. Unfortunately, this was a pricey "solution" that did not fix the problem. What is very annoying is that Needles keeps billing us quarterly for "technical support" that is part of our agreement, but fails to fix our technical issues. Also, Needles technicians are all east-coast based. As we're in Arizona, this also presents a problem in availability of their support.

Pluspunten:

If it worked as promised, it would have been exactly what we wanted in practice management software. It has some great ideas and is supposed to interface with Outlook.

Minpunten:

Our experience has been that the updates are not adequately tested before released to clients, and customer support is not always advised or up-to-date re the various bugs with the updates, and therefore not able to troubleshoot or fix. We have been trying to get Needles to fix the interface with Outlook that resulted from one of there updates, and causes the slowing of email, for nine months now. We have only had this software for a year. As Needles has been unable to properly diagnose and resolve this problem, they are now ignoring us.

Costs have risen and the product has not improved

No progress in regard to upgrading the system. It has remained essentially unchanged for 15 years. Despite this, costs have increased, supplemental charges for things that were standard, and quarterly support payments yet I am still uncertain as to what is covered in "support" as any issue we have, we are directed to contact our IT company or are given an additional charge for assistance.

Opmerkingen: we believe that this was a good choice for the firm and it very practical due to the fact that its a web base software we can log in everywhere as long as you have internet connection.

Pluspunten:

very easy to use and set up, i was part of the implementation team since the beginning , it was a relative easy transition from the old needles to needles neos. Needles tech support took care of everything and was in constant communication with myself during the process. The whole firm also had a easy time figuring out all the tabs and how everything works. Needles provided us with training prior to going live which also helped us have a better idea on how everything works. The document/letter set up is super simple in comparison to the older version we were using.

Minpunten:

I noticed that there are always new updates being done which its not a con. but with updates there are bugs and at times the system freezes. i would like to be able to name the documents when dragging and dropping it directly from the desktop to the file itself, currently neos does not give this option. system slows down every so often.

Excellent software - Excellent support

Opmerkingen: I cannot imagine running a personal injury practice without Needles. Needles keeps my staff on track and provides us a method to confirm the staff is on track. The support is excellent. The program can be customized to better fit my practice. As we grow and learn Needles grows with us. It allows us to better serve our clients because which keeps our clients happy and leads to more clients. The support is excellent. The set up process allows you to learn about your firm and how you firm can operate more effectively.

See my review. The support and ability to customize is second to none. We have tried a lot of software to help our practice run more efficiently and effectively.

cloud based access. the review requires me to put more words in to post so i added this useless sentence.

Minpunten:

slow and frankly very difficult to use. The most basic functions that I use all day are ridiculously hard to use. posting emails to the system is a nightmare. oftentimes i find out later that emails did not post to a file. When I attempted to resolve the issue I was told there was no way to. Names of parties in the system will mysteriously change.

Needles Case Management Software

It is customizable and interfaces with numerous other software. The ability to pull information out of Needles with the user defined report feature is great! Our office uses Needles religiously. It is the foundation of our clients' data. We also use it for HR/Staffing.

It needs updating! They have been working on an update for years and just have not made it happen.

Pluspunten:

It could generate documents, filling in certain fields automatically from the database. It could store healthcare providers and other contacts for easy medical requests. You can schedule events so you do not miss deadlines.

Minpunten:

Sometimes it is clunky and crashes. Sometimes it isn't easy to deteine of you are making a duplicate entry. Might have more to do with the programming of the firm than the software itself.

The ease of use of this software is undeniably amazing!

So easy to use this software. For injury cases, simply go through the tabs and enter the information. The software handles basically everything from there. You get reminders of important items to follow up on, patient contact, and statute dates as well. Getting phone conversations, messages and such are seamless as well. No need to have a heavy paper file ever again.

Minpunten:

It is a bit costly, but absolutely worth every penny. It needs to have a bit more detail as far as permissions go. Maybe more detail so as nothing important is lost by a user.

Neos is the best!

Opmerkingen: Excellent. We had to get it installed and working within a week, and the Neos people couldn't have been better. We were able to start working immediately, and feel like we learn a new feature every day. We are moving onto more sophisticated templates and other features, and they are all so flexible and useful.

Pluspunten:

Works well out of the box, started using it within minutes. The interface is very intuitive.Very customizable, easy to add our own fields.Fantastic training and support. They are so accessible, often within minutes. Online self-service help is great. Great suggestion box - we've already seen a couple of things implemented.
