Once familiar the the software, set up was pretty easy and strait forward. Provided many features which our business needed including rental bundles.
I am basically a 3 month seasonal business and pay $1440.

Opmerkingen: I’ve been using Point of Rental Software since 2013 and I have absolutely using the software. The support staff is always there to help if you need them. I also really like the her help feature that allows you to read up on how to use the software.

Customer support is TOP TIER!
Opmerkingen: They have been excellent at providing the best customer service I have experienced in the rental software industry. It's easy to reach someone on their team when I need help, and they are fast to respond, unlike my previous rental software provider.
Pluspunten:
I found Syrinx to be easier to use and set up than many other products I have used in the past.
Minpunten:
The look seems older, but I tell you what, it's far from old. It's very powerful and seems more rental customised than other rental systems I have used.

This software is massively over priced and is not cut out for fence rentals.

The only positive of this system was the dispatch integration. This was a good system that functioned well with routing our trucks for their daily installations.
Minpunten:
Way overpriced. If you are having reservations about the cost of this listen to your gut. System looks archaic. The architecture looks like software from the 1990's. The estimating process is slow and cumbersome. You are forced to enter a complete order by using a series of tabs instead of simply entering everything on one screen as in modern software. There are many quirks that slow you down as well as password and user ID issues, printing issues, etc. POR allows you to access the software in test mode before you purchase which we did. The problem is when you access in test mode you have no clue what you are looking at and you have no guidance from POR until you cut a check. A VERY LARGE CHECK. The on site training provided was done by a very knowledgeable guy but it was not enough to get us up and running with confidence. The biggest disappointment is that our company feels deceived. We were told that this would integrate with Quickbooks which it barely does. It will only tell quick books a lump sum of sales per day, nothing else. Our quick books really became useless to us. Our company was also told that there were other fence rental companies that used their product and that we'd be able to contact them to hear about their experience with POR. After making several requests for this info it was never provided. We assume that POR was lying about this.

When Tina posted her review, our support team sent emails to try to explain how to fix the issues she was having; since we didn't get a response and you're citing some of the same issues, perhaps those messages didn't get through? Point of Rental will answer the phone anytime of the day or night with their own employees to help with any problems that you might have. Not only are there a million reports we can run but the system is also very easy to use and train people to use.
Minpunten:
if we want to add functions to the system to taylor them to our needs it is hard to get that done.

User friendly and intuitive
Pluspunten:
The software is very easy to navigate. Very user friendly and constantly updating with new technologies and processes. Integration was simple enough, and rolling out the software to employees was painless. Training went smooth and had very minimal issues with older employees learning the new system.
Minpunten:
Database cleanup after the initial merge was difficult. None of the equipment specs transferred over from old operating system so we had to manually do that.

If we had a little more ability to correct things without customer support it would be easier than calling and waiting on the line, while customer support is always great it would be nice to just be able to fix it on our own within the software.

Great software, but a lot to learn in a very short time
Opmerkingen: The ones that answer the calls are wonderful and try to help any way they can, which is a good thing for a support team.
Pluspunten:
It was easy to go from our old system to this software.
Minpunten:
I wish it would have integrated with Quickbooks online, we swapped to Quickbooks desktop thinking it would be an easier integrate, but we are still working out the bugs. It did at least integrate with Desktop.

Ease of use and ability to understand it is fairly easy. The set up is very user friendly, even our oldest employee has found it easy to use.
Minpunten:
Communication bewteen multiple stores can be improved. Sometimes when calling in for support I feel they aren't as trained as they could be.

Used to love them
Opmerkingen: Always loved their support staff, quick to respond and most often fixed the issue or could show you how it happened, rarely had to contact them as the system ran pretty smoothly, the updates install themselves so no need to get everyone out of the system for upgrades. In the last year, they have changed so much, and often switch it back, and it no longer works properly, updates have to be done manually, screens have changed, support is non-existent, email and wait a week for a reply, if that. Been working on an issue now since last August, just gets worse instead of fixed and no reason why it is happening.
Pluspunten:
Loved the software when I got it, training module is fantastic, ability to learn it easily is great, input is quite simple and usually fixable if you make a mistake, handles multiple locations, does depreciation.
Minpunten:
Resale parts handling, reporting, receiving, pricing, inventory counting.

I came to Point of Rental when my ow EXPENSIVE rental system crashed big time. Without my system, and found out just how poor customer service was with their competitor I was ready to give up. Then we heard of Point of Rental. Apprehensive we moved slowly with lots of hands on before deciding. Best advice I can give, DO IT. Do not wait. Best decision I have ever made.

I love my Tech Support person, She knows the ins and outs and I am so blessed by her service. I do feel the other Tech support people can take the lead from rep.

I like the credit hold feature under customer account, that's it! I'm only writing this part because I'm being told that my pro review is too short.
Minpunten:
Too many steps to do anything, constantly need to re-enter credentials every time you switch menus. Need to go to 3-4 different menus to complete just 1 task.

Hi Tina! We¿re sorry to hear that you¿re frustrated! Rental Expert, by default, is configured to require logins for each alteration in the system, which allows for more accurate tracking and logging of changes made. Computers (especially those at the counter) are often shared in rental stores, in our experience ¿ we want our customers to have accuracy in reporting without requiring users to log completely out of (and then back into) the system. For employees that have their own dedicated computers, there is an option that dramatically reduces the number of times you need to log in, however. We'll be reaching out to you today to show you how to do this. We look forward to working with you to resolve this issue.

Pluspunten:
We switched from a different system and POR has so many more reporting options and better functionality than we’ve ever had. There are so many more options on how to move around the system.
Minpunten:
The only thing I’ve found so far that I would change is the way reports export into Excel. The added rows are a little bothersome but not a make or break problem.

Difficult to implement and onboarding was not organized or helpful. Continues to not work for our business. Sloppy data flow and not good with reporting.

I opted to cut my losses ( within the first 9 months. ) and go to a company that not only appreciates their customers, but makes sure you have all that you need to succeed in your business and not just try to milk you dry with fee's, add-ons, Lies poor service!!! Top notch Service!
Opmerkingen: Point Of Rental has been there 100 percent, every step of the way as our company began the journey of getting our rental equipment online and finding a place to inventory our products online. Any problems, Brian McBroom and Evan Fort have gone out of their way to make sure they were solved and they have exceeded any expectations multiple times over. if we needed something adapted to our needs, it was taken care of quickly and rolled out to the whole system. Great Sessions!
Opmerkingen: POR international conference has had great sessions so far with good interaction from the staff at POR! I really enjoyed seeing them walk through a process in the software as they described how to do it. Everyone has made themselves available for additional help as well. The sessions are well organized and easy to follow.
