Opmerkingen: I've saved a lot of time working with autocad, since I've been using this tool there's a lot more precision in my drawing work, down to the smallest detail.

Pluspunten:

it's a powerful and highly recommended tool, thanks to its intuitive workspace and time-saving precision controls.

Minpunten:

it's a scary tool to use for the first time, because it contains a lot of commands and buttons, and when you're a beginner you need a lot of practice to understand its automation principle.

It's the standard because it's better

Opmerkingen: We have saved a lot of time with AutoCAD LT with the constant use of library functions. The speed of the program is great, it's faster than all the other programs we've used in the past.

Pluspunten:

AutoCAD LT offers features that other similar alternatives does not offer. It permits to have an extensive library of already drawn items. Instead of copying and pasting from previous drawings, we can draw it once, save it in the library and call on it whenever we like.

Minpunten:

With all great things there is usually a cons list, but for now the only con we've seen is the unfortunate trend of companies "forcing" to purchase an annual subscription to the product. Don't get me wrong, Autodesk offers a permanent licence but at a pretty steep cost. It may eventually be cost-effective, but with all the new features, bug fixes and incompatibility issues that arise with every new release, we are "forced" or lured to take the path of an annual subscription. But we are living in 2020, and like in The Mandalorian: "This is the way!".

Rating AutoCAD LT from employee eye

Pluspunten:

I use Autocad for a looong long time. It is very easy and powerful tool for making vector and CAD drawings.

Minpunten:

For a LT version I have no complains about it. I prefer full version of it (with plugins etc.) but for smaller amount of money it is enough for work in our industry.

Drawing program

Opmerkingen: It is an application that I can quickly model an easy 2 dimensional object. I can access this model I designed on the web and mobile.

Pluspunten:

Provides the opportunity to create 2D drawings with easy-to-use drawing tools; It is software that supports desktop, web and mobile applications. It gives the user the chance to make 2D drawings very quickly.

Minpunten:

It cannot perform 3D modeling and visualization processes. It cannot perform the creation of images (render output) with lighting, materials and visual styles.

It is worth the price and can be used for low level of detail drawings

Opmerkingen: We had one new employee and we purchased this software for him to help us with basic detail drawings and corrections.

Pluspunten:

That it can be implemented rapidly and it has just the basic features, enough to do the job.

Minpunten:

I consider that 3D models could at least be opened and be viewed.

Free to use read only CAD software

Opmerkingen: This has been a huge cost saving item for our company. For years we were battling with users opening AutoCAD just to view a CAD drawing (read only) for a few minutes, then closing it. that used up a licence token, which costs us money.
Following quite a large scale roll out of AutoCAD LT, now only the users who need to edit the drawings have access to the AutoCAD - the rest have AutoCAD LT.

Pluspunten:

To be frank, the best feature of AutoCAD LT is that we can use it for free. Unlike AutoCAD itself, AutoCAD LT (for us at least) does not use up tokens on our flex licencing model. This has been a huge cost saving feature for our company, as many users only required read only access to CAD drawings and files.

Minpunten:

The only down side to AutoCAD LT for us is that it still needs to be packaged and rolled out to our users with the licence server details included, even though it does not use any of our licence tokens. This does mean a little extra work for our software packaging team, as if we could just send the users a link to download themselves, that would be easier.

Great Product

Pluspunten:

User interface, the multitiude of work that can be done, page set up

Minpunten:

Ideally, It would be easier if templates were less arduios to to set up - architectural contemporay templates ready to go for varying project sizes would be preffered

Autocad LT Extraordinary

Pluspunten:

I like it when we exclusively draw 2D objects.

Minpunten:

When we open the software, it took me so long to open. If we want to make 3D objects , it is very difficult. Recently i used to draw a layout of an Machinery Industry. It is better than Autocad i used before.

The best 2D drafting tool

Opmerkingen: I will keep using CAD LT even I have other BIM tool to use. Still the best drafting software ever!

Pluspunten:

For the price and the features, you have 95% of the full CAD version to use, and the rest features are barely used anyway.

Minpunten:

Can't do 3D modeling. And you can easily use SketchUp (Free) or other BIM software to do it.

User friendly CAD for every company

Opmerkingen: It is so far so good and meets our daily requirement.

Pluspunten:

This software is user-friendly. Once you know how to use it, it will be a useful tool.

Minpunten:

It is not so powerful as other CAD software. However, it meets our requirement.

if you just use Autocad for 2D plans just get this

Opmerkingen: its been positive, only thing it crashes sometimes with hatches and the file is easier to download and install

Pluspunten:

It gives me what i need for the right price point rather than having to spend the money on the full Auto CAD. if you work on landscape or just do 2d plans then this works fine. and when you buy a version of LT you get i belive 4 years of upgrades free. so rather than spending a few thousand on somthing you dont need now, you can get LT and keep upgrading till you stop.

Minpunten:

some 3d elements and quick short cuts are not available but it really doesn't effect our daily work flow

Great Program but some glitches need to be fixed

Opmerkingen: This is my number one program, I am in the design field, I have used this program for almost everything. Greating banners, files for laser cutting, shop drawings, 3d rendering. etc.

Pluspunten:

This program is great for anyone in the design industry. It helps create accurate drawings for architectural purpose, interior design purpose and generally anything that needs measurements. It is easy to use, and the commands are accessed easily by just entering first few letters. EG line command, just type in L and you will see a little box pop up asking you if you are trying to make a line.

Minpunten:

Finding that trying to change the work space to a custom work space causes the CAD to crash. So it would be great to fix that glitch, as every individual works differently on CAD and likes to have certain sets of command tools on there model space.

Backbone of our drafting process

Opmerkingen: We find it a suitable alternative to the full license of AutoCAD and that it meets all of our 2d drawing needs.

Pluspunten:

This software meets all of our needs for the drawing aspects of small scale architectural projects. We have been using AutoCAD for years and find the LT meets almost all of our needs at a lower price point than the full version.

Minpunten:

We don’t use cad for 3d drawings but are sometimes given 3D files onto which we add. Although we work in 2d we find that sometimes lines end up locked to different z coordinates when we export the file to other programs and there is no way within other to simply flatten a drawing to avoid this problem.

A Feature Rich product to meet all your Designing needs

Opmerkingen: The overall experience is on the product with ease of use and small foot print which can be deployed on laptop lower end for meeting daily needs when on move

Pluspunten:

I like the software because of rich features like Toolset , drafting, editing and dimension of drawing, easy to use menus and commands , can b installed on a low end desktop thus cost efficient for SMB's

Minpunten:

The cost of subscription model is on the higher side can be fine tuned, some old sections has been removed from current versions , these have to be manually added

Functional, but hard to use

Opmerkingen: the product is necessary. i do not particularly like using it, and it is not my first choice for doing my own work. having said that, i do use the product, and i would recommend the product. everyone's mileage varies, and sometimes you just have to use something you don't particularly like because you have no choice.

Pluspunten:

it is still the gold standard for the drawing formats that Autodesk invented. sometimes you just have to go back to the original, rather than just using other products that can read the files. as with other products, the clones just aren't 100 percent compatible with the original. i have never found anything that i couldn't read using AutoCAD LT.

Minpunten:

personally, i just find Autodesk products hard to use. i find them counter-intuitive and hard to understand. it's a user interface thing, and they have stuck with the same interface since they came up with their first products. i have a hard enough time getting it to do what i want, that i will use just about anything for day to day work.

Great value if you can live with the limitations

Opmerkingen: If you can live with the few limitations, it is a fantastic value. It’s “real” Autocad, if you have years of experience using Autocad, you know there’s no substitute for that.

Pluspunten:

Autocad LT is a great value for what it does, it is exactly like using it’s big brother “full” Autocad with some specific but reasonable limitations. It is not a “crippled” version and you can do a lot of productive work with it, and it’s “real” Autocad that works and saves Autocad files. Despite its limited customization, it does let you use the Macro Recorder which is a huge time saver.

Minpunten:

Naturally for the price difference it is missing some features you may or may not use. It does not allow for customization with LISP routines, and 3D work is limited. If you’re working very much in 3D you ought to be using Inventor or Revit anyway.

AutoCAD LT for Interior Designers

Opmerkingen: AutoCAD LT has allowed me to use all the necessary functions of autocad to perform my daily tasks as an interior designer. While I didn’t learn autocad using LT, I found that it was an extremely easy transition and that it really allows me to do everything I need to do.

Pluspunten:

Easy to use, works well on MacBook. Works well for what I need to do on a daily basis as an interior designer.. covers the basics!

Minpunten:

Freezes occassionally and restoring isn’t as easy as I’d like. I wish it Autosaved!

Most of the Functionality of the full AutoCAD without most of the Applicational Heft

Opmerkingen: Overall, AutoCAD LT is perfect for my engineering and drafting needs .

Pluspunten:

Most of the time, I don't need the full version of AutoCAD in my day-to-day use. 99% of the time, LT works perfectly for what I need it to, and for the other 1%, I've found other ways to do what needed to be done.

Minpunten:

The only issue is when you aren't able to use a function that is in the full version of AutoCAD but not in the Auto CAD LT

Complete solution for 2D designing

Opmerkingen: The software has all the necessary features for my design work of road networks. Although its a little bit costly, the value for money is acceptable.

Pluspunten:

It has basic functionalities like creating polygons and advanced features like creating complex network of nodes. Built-in templates of common accessories make my work very easy. Besides, its detailed help page explains every features very thoroughly.

Minpunten:

I can't create 3D designs from the 2D ones. Besides, it still doesn’t have an android app for design management on-the-go.

Inexpensive professional drawing tool

Pluspunten:

Has most all features you need for drafting. Autocad sets the standard for drafting software. Most everyone accepts their files and is familiar with it.

Minpunten:

If unfamiliar with Autocad, it can take a little time to get it to do what you need. LT has most features as full blown Autocad but have run into a few that it is missing.

Pluspunten:

The installation is very easy and the migration of previous version information works very well.

Minpunten:

The online portion of Autodesk is not easy to turn off and there are functions that I never use that I can not remove. The cloud function should be easier to turn off.

A great alternative to AutoCAD full version

Pluspunten:

Since this is a light version with lesser capabilities, it makes the software run faster and smoother on low end machines

Minpunten:

Although it is a lighter version, the subscription amount per month is almost at par with the full version.

AUTO CAD LT Review 2021

Pluspunten:

At Quality Assurance Department, in which I am currently in, every time I am doubtful with the calculations and/or results of the failure analysis conducted through actual simulation of the step motors, especially when it comes to physical dimensional issues and compatibility of parts, I intended to either re-assess and/or re-evaluate it using the AutoCAD LT software as for another form of verification. From there, unknown dimensions can also be clarified before giving out our final disposition of the product.

Minpunten:

Sometimes it is prone to system's crash (I guess, so?). Maybe it has something to do with the compatibility issues in the PC we used and/or the graphic cards installed in it I supposed, but sometimes, when I am in the middle of verifying something, it got freeze out, which is a little bit annoying. Nonetheless, it was so powerful and helpful for me!
