One of my favorite DAW's

Opmerkingen: This is my to go DAW to experiment with many different sounds in real time. Also great tool for live performances,I am using it for years and it delivers the fastest sound processing experience in no time and minimal latency.2 work flows give the best overview of the song and option to try many different arrangements before recording the final one.

Pluspunten:

Very versatile software that offers many good quality internal tools, VST instruments included, as well as audio editing options.

Minpunten:

The warping modes gets changed with every update making it tough for user especially if you already got used to the workflow. Same with the software interface. File manager gets worse and worse with each update.Now it is hard to find files that belong to the same project and if you export any loops to external drive Live won't find it and it appears as "file offline".

Perfect for creating EDM and DJ beats

Opmerkingen: overall my experience was positive and enjoyable, I felt it helped me learn the DJ styles of DAW and I will absolutely return to it when making that type of music

Pluspunten:

Live was amazing for producing beat driven music and heavy drum and synth instrumentals, I feel it's primary use is as a DJ software

Minpunten:

It can be overly complex at times when compared to it's peers such as logic, because ableton tends to be a little to complex or technical for casual users

the fille of ASD are everywhere in my pc if you make it in one folder or in the temp that will be great and need a bypass to hear the song before and after effect in one click no need to close it one by one or need to make a groupe

The first DAW but not the last

Opmerkingen: Mostly positive although I found myself more at home with other DAWs

Live is full of cutting edge features and the most popular among electronic music producers so it makes collaboration was simpler.

Minpunten:

How clunky and unappealing the user interface is. Also, I find myself often getting lost in understanding what the virtual devices do and how they can be used.

Ableton Live Review

Opmerkingen: Overall a great DAW to use, can be polyvalent, specially in Live set, where Ableton Live shines the most. With the integration of MPE, it can be a really good value paired with Roli keyboard for example.

One of the most used DAW, a lot of documentation and videos to help Integration with home company hardware (Ableton Push) Has the ability to be used in Live sessions Really great workflow Session view

Can be CPU consuming VST integration can be hard sometimes A lot of good features block behind Suite version

Live is for Serious Musicians

Opmerkingen: Totally fascinates me even after a few years how easy it is to make a track. Essentially it works in a way which makes composition much easier than other existing software programs.

Pluspunten:

Live provides 2 direct recording views including clip view and arrangement view. This suits those who prefer to multi-track conventionally or those who build up loop tracks.

Minpunten:

Live is a very big piece of software and the learning curve is steep. However, as you get to learn shortcuts on the keyboard then managing this beast becomes much easier.

Perfect solution for Tracks in Worship

Pluspunten:

I use this mainly for live band settings. The flexibility to make everything sound the way you want is great. The 2 different views are perfect.

Minpunten:

Extremely steep learning curve - however you can learn a lot on Youtube.

best digital audio workstation

Opmerkingen: EXCELLENT truly genius for live performances but even the sequencer area is pretty cool just got for it

A Staple for Music Production

Opmerkingen: Although difficult at first, it has been fruitful to learn how to use Live over the past few years, and I'm very pleased with purchasing ableton live suite

Ableton provides every feature needed to create music and design sounds for a variety of purposes

Minpunten:

The user interface is not as intuitive as some other music production software, and includes fewer features on the basic version of Live

Great instrument, not a great mixing software

Pluspunten:

In the context of music production Live is unbeatable. Features like "Audio-to-midi" conversions and almost perfect speed/pitch manipulation make it easy to experiment with sound in a way that no other DAW comes close. Its set of midi effects lets you lock in to the key of the song you are writing as well as automate stuff like synth layering for a particular melody. It also helps with writing songs since it's ALWAYS recording what you play, no lost melodies because you forgot to play record. The "Live" grid is also a big help when trying to figure out the structure of your song but its mostly useful for heavy loop-based stuff like house music. The "piano roll" for a lack of a better word, where you edit your midi, is excellent. Both for recording from a midi instrument as well as for building stuff from scratch with a keyboard and mouse. It has a great set of features for transforming that midi like doubling/halving the time or flipping it upside down.

Minpunten:

There's no M1 support, at least at the time of writing this review (About 1 year after release). Also, most "good" updates only come to the newest version which is a paid update, not particularly bad but it is something to consider. Feature wise it's got everything you need for music production, although it lacks some features for mixing. For example, you can't do vocal pitch correction very easily, you will most likely need to get a plugin for that. It's also not that great for recording, it lacks features like vocal comping that other DAWs do have, which is not a big deal since you can do it manually but it's something you'd expect to be there coming from other DAWs. In conclusion, it feels like an instrument, it's excellent for making demos and working out ideas and it CAN be used for building the final product but you'll need the help of some plugins.

Great software, if that’s what you’re looking for

Opmerkingen: Live is indeed a great tool, but be sure to understand beforehand it’s philosophy (use a demo or look on YouTube videos). If that’s what you’re looking for, it’s an amazing tool used by many professionals. If you’re looking for a more classic audio editing, recording and mixing app, I would personally look elsewhere, especially since Live middle and top tier are priced as much

Live’s best features, other than it’s reliability, are all catered towards live performances and real time playing and editing. This is a really unique way of operating, if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s powerful, effective and funny to use. Instead, if you’re looking for a more traditional audio editing application, in my opinion it is still lacking a few notable features and the interface is clunkier and less pleasant than other alternatives, especially at the beginning

Minpunten:

Pretty much the other side of the pro’s: Live is catered towards live performances of electronic music, which it does in a pretty unique and creative way (look for live track creation videos with Live on YouTube!), but is lacking behind when it come to more usual audio recording and editing on a track by track basis. To each his own, and it very much depends on your activity and objective

One of the masters of music production

Opmerkingen: Live is great. It was my first DAW, and it helped me to start my way on music production/mixing. The fact that you have a lot of sounds and effects in the software without leaving it is amazing. I worked a lot of times only using Live built-in effects/plugins and synths. I would keep using this software a lot of years, and i look forward to experiencing some new versions.

Pluspunten:

Ableton Live is easy to use and the learning curve is really fast. The timeline format really stands as against other DAWs. One of the best things about Live is the extent list of built-in CPU-efficient  plugins and effects, i'ts a fact that you can do an entire album without third party plugins and only using the Live ones. Since the last versions VST2 and VST3 plugins compatibility helps you to run everything on the software, without leaving the Live session not even once. The Max 4 Live environment helps you to maintain on  the experimental side, testing some apps and tools made by other users.  You are free to use Live however you want, changing the view style between session and arrangement (I used arrangement more, but session is superb for playing live instruments or just DJing/mixing). Overall, Live is one of the masters of music production and deservers all the high praise.

Minpunten:

The tool to replace moved/erased WAVs doesn't work as it should, usually i end up replacing the audio files by myself. Live price is really expensive, i think it is one of the most expensive DAWs out there, you can try the free demo version or use the lite version, but if you want the complete experience you will have to pay a lot. Since Live 10 i experienced some lag and computer freezing while working, the PC specs are really high, so consider this before buying the software, you should have a pretty good build to mix more than 10/15 tracks on a session.

The interface of Ableton is different from other interfaces & it takes time to get used to. once I gained little experience‏, things got much more faster & I have managed to finish projects more easily than ever before.

For me the best daw

Opmerkingen: It is just great! been using it for more then a decade now... and do have alot of "Ableton" made releases already on Beatport, Spotify, and all other streaming and download platforms.

Pluspunten:

I like how the interface works so inspiring! Ableton just offers such a great workflow! I still use it in a linear way, and do not realy make use of the clips. With the "suite" version you get all the instruments & loads of samples. The vst support also works flawless.

Minpunten:

in case of mixing software such as "cubase" is bit more tight. But I do not realy have alot of issues with it.

Daily Ableton User

Pluspunten:

Compared to other DAWs, digital audio workstations, Ableton has a cleaner and simpler looking layout. This simplicity helps producers to navigate through the software with much more ease. Everything is integrated into one window, which really helps the workflow. It eliminates the need for cluttering multiple windows plus plugins, thus giving it a very clean and enjoyable experience. Furthermore, Ableton's session view is awesome. It presents clips in almost a grid-like format, almost like a spreadsheet, thus giving a sleek and easy to follow layout.

Minpunten:

With Ableton, there is a learning curve. Compared to other DAWs, it is a bit harder to learn and understand the process of "making" music. You must put in the time to learn ALL the components in order to truly use the software to its full potential. The price of Ableton seems to be a bit high. Also, compared to other DAWs, like Logic, Ableton seems to lack in their production tools. Its EQ, compressor, effects, etc. seem to lack compared to others.

The best and most creative music production software

Pluspunten:

The workflow and routing systems within Ableton offer a ton of flexibility and creative methods and approaches. The support and integration with Max4Live is an absolute beauty. Always being a fan of open source and community contributions makes this software on the whole much more of an integrated and firmly entrenched cultural software.

Minpunten:

The price for upgrades and perhaps for Suite overall is too high. For traditional analog board users, the workflow might present initial challenges but if you can get through it and adapt you realize the vast creative potential it offers

Have had such a great experience with their support team reordering parts I needed for a controller and issues within the software.

Minpunten:

Expensive. Isn't cheap by any means but you absolutely get what you pay for.

The perfect DAW for live situations.

Pluspunten:

Ableton Live is unique, I really like its user interface and its very original composition system, totally adapted with its tools, for live situations in concert, radio, showcase. its ergonomics satisfies me enormously.

Minpunten:

The negative point that I noted is the mixer! its design, although innovative and original, can be improved because it does not facilitate mixing. the faders are very small and imprecise. if this is corrected in future versions it will satisfy me very much.

Easy software for effective audio project

Opmerkingen: My experience with Live is absolutely positive and has allowed me to learn a lot about computer production

Ableton Live is a powerful daw, with many features already available with the intro version. It is a home recording studio where a lot can be produced with little.

Minpunten:

There are no aspects that in my experience can be classified as weaknesses. More likely the difficulties may arise due to personal lack of training and education in some areas (e.g. Max for live)

For any recording solution, Live is your software!

Opmerkingen: I am not a pc experience user but i easily start using Live for my demo recording sessions and i love it!

Pluspunten:

I tend to write a lot of songs, and have to make demos of it, which sometimes we have to in our industry to remember what the melody or how did the song go. That's where Live comes into play for always, its flexible, musical software you can get for production, recording, mixing, mastering and live performance. A very straight forward, easy to use DAW you can get out there compared to the others i have seen my brother used in the past.

For now i can't really say anything I don't like about the software as I started out only using this so far, but with my experience of it, i surely love using it.

Experience The Best Digital Audio Workstation On The Market

Opmerkingen: I started working with Live a few years ago while I was in college, and my overall experience with it has been great. In fact, I still use it today.

Pluspunten:

What I like most about this particular software is it's clip based live performance and compositional workflow. In addition to this, it so much easier to work with samples in Live than in any other Digital Audio Workstation.

Minpunten:

There were no cons with this particular software, except that fact that the GUI could be a little better.
