Over MYOB Business
Cloudgebaseerde boekhoudsoftware voor kleine bedrijven om de salarisadministratie, het klantenbeheer, belastingen en al je boekhoudbehoeften te automatiseren.
Payroll is ok it has some nice features on pay items but nothing the old essentials could do easily.
No real downsides to the system. As we were using Viberent as a custom software piece there were some glitches with the API integration but this is to be expected.

A Solid Piece Of Software
Pluspunten:
I have used MYOB for years, it's perfect for getting the job done, and easy to use.
Minpunten:
Sometimes the ability to change or delete transactions is a little bit dangerous.

Probably OK If you Are a Trained Accountant or Bookkeeper
Opmerkingen: We wasted a lot of time and resources using this software for our small business accounting needs. Whilst it did the job in the end we believe there are simpler options such as XERO for us non- accountants.
Pluspunten:
As a small business owner not trained in the art of accounting there wasn't a lot we found easy about using MYOB Essentials. The reporting process at the end is probably our highlight.
Minpunten:
We found MYOB Essentials cumbersome to set up and use. The support team was basically of little help. Sending files to our Accountant at the end of the tax year was a pain. MYOB Essentials is better suited to those with a deeper knowledge of accounting than what we have in our business. That is why we switched to XERO which we find much easier and more efficient to use.
Great software. Does everything we need it to do and more.
Opmerkingen: Great accounting, and always updating with new features. Our accountant could just log in and do our end of years immediately.
Pluspunten:
-Highly customisable for invoicing and parts inventories. -Has great reports. We found if you knew what you wanted to keep an eye on in the business, then you could design a report for it. Not all accounting programs or workshop software can do that so easily. -once it was set up for our workshop, it worked amazingly. Very intuitive
Minpunten:
-We were new to this software, and it took a long time to set it up, (6 mnths), specifically for how we needed it to work. (automotive workshop), You almost needed to be a trained accountant i felt. -Support used to take at least 1 day if not 2 to get back to you.
MYOB Business
Opmerkingen: Overall I like using MYOB Business I feel my skills in accounting are only getting stronger through utilising MYOB daily.
Pluspunten:
I find MYOB relatively straight-forward to use. I have had to teach myself as my background is in education and not accounting. I find the forums helpful. I find I learn through practise so the more I am using MYOB Business the easier it is becoming for me.
Minpunten:
I would love it to be easier to switch between products and for it to simply be as easy as clicking a button to transfer all our data across.
Eerder overwogen alternatieven:
Good to start but difficult with finer details.
Opmerkingen: It worked well as a start package for the small business and didn't cost anything for the first year so was a great starting option. However it was difficult to learn and take further with lots of niggly issues.
Pluspunten:
Good app availability to easily capture expenses and receipts. Simple to get started and underway with and often free with certain banks etc for the first year.
Minpunten:
Beyond some basic functionality it was difficult to understand how best to do many things. In addition it was very difficult to reconcile amounts where a bank fee had altered the incoming amount. Often resulting in adjusting the original invoice rather than simply applying a fee during reconciliation.
Daily Bookkeeping
Opmerkingen: On the website version I am completely frustrated. Why is it that I can not open in the app version when the file has been shared with me via the website version??

Bank Feeds, Date Lock, Balance Sheet, GST Report
Minpunten:
Lack of functionality on website, can't use the find transaction feature.

good value in terms of the price
Opmerkingen: The software is good for a small entity but once you grow and need more detail it becomes a handbrake on information.
Pluspunten:
easy to use ,A very easy to use and follow accounting software, the flow of information is easy to follow

I have been using the MYOB Essentials purely for payroll of a bout 10 employees. I find the customer service frustrating as it seems impossible to actually speak to anyone.
Get your act together
Opmerkingen: works well when it does, is terrible when it doesn't with zero customer support!
Pluspunten:
Easy to use. If you have a computer, you can access everything
Minpunten:
Glitch with reconciliation. You have to go back to the dashboard if you want to reconcile a different account (each time) have been trying to setup bank feeds for credit card for years. Have been unable to update credit card details or pay the bill for the product for 2 months. Very annoying to log into, nearly every time you have to log in two or three times before you actually log in. If you like waiting on the phone to talk to someone, only for the call to time out after 40mins or get put through to some white noise, again and again this is the company for you.

MYOB - easy to use, does what you need
Opmerkingen: Offers features that I need to do to manage the Company Financials. Support has been great and responsive.
Pluspunten:
MYOB is intuitive for the user to use, easy to use, simple to setup, has all the features you need to manage the Company finances. Also when regulation changes it quickly incorporates those changes and explains easily how to use the feature.
Minpunten:
MYOB can get quite slow around EOFY - needs more grunt put in place around these times for cloud hosting. There is no live chat within the application for support.
Ok platform at the time however went with Xero
Pluspunten:
I needed the ability to access accounting transactions online.
Minpunten:
What I liked least about MYOB business is that is was very limited therefore went with Xero.
Myob
Opmerkingen: Very easy to use. Clients are happy with it and also find it easy with minimal questions

The ease of using this program. Being able to get into clients accounts and finalising their work.

Upgrade of platform rubbish
Opmerkingen:
Very frustrating, dissatisfaction and disappointment.
Will be looking at Xero.
Pluspunten:
Nothing about the new upgraded platform, all information has to transferred over. Too many gimmicks of cartoon characters , boxes with useless information and graphs taking up half of the dashboard. Support of myob is very inexperienced and wasted 3 hrs on the phone to resolve payroll issues. Did not ask or want the upgrade now paying more for a useless product.
Minpunten:
Navigation is too complex, nothing is clear and simple. Super is not calculated correctly, some of the information has not migrated over with the new platform had to re input details. A lot of wasted time.
Small business user
Opmerkingen: Good program for small business and very easy to fix mistakes but no audit trail

Easy to use and can have detailed accounts set up,at 4 levels Reports are set up so easy to use out of the box Great program in box
Minpunten:
From an audit perspective not great as you can renter things without an audit trail No reporting flexibility
Processing
Opmerkingen: The background of MYOB needs to be updated to keep up with the updates

This software is easy to use . It has all the modules you need to run a small to medium business in todays environment.
Minpunten:
Processing is slow and will freeze the screen Myob does not like large files which is a huge problem.

And I like if anything goes missing my computer gets Stolen or burns or virus then I don't lose everything because it's on the clouds

Great Product
Opmerkingen: I would recommend it to someone say a professional bookkeeper, I found Quickbooks to be more user friendly for easy bookkeeping soultuons also finding Quickbooks a lot cheaper than MYOB.
Pluspunten:
Very detailed, Easy to add transactions.
Minpunten:
I found the software was not very “user friendly” especially as someone who isn’t the greatest at Bookeeping, the terms (words) and navigation was very hard sometimes. I ended up switching to Quickbooks.

Opmerkingen: I've been using MYOB for many years, mainly to raise invoices and purchases, plus to track the P&L and balance sheet. It's a pretty robust product that doesn't need specialist instruction to use the basic functions, but it started getting pretty annoying when I upgraded late 2013 and now one has to be connected to the internet in order to use it. That means if your internet connection is down or you're out of WIFI reach on the road, you can't do anything with your company files. That's my biggest complaint.

Call center people don't know what they are doing or how to setup licence properly
Opmerkingen: Horrible experience so far with MYOB, time I have waste every day to get my MYOB going is beyond limit as I have other things to do.
Pluspunten:
Overall software is not bad but support team is not trained enough to sort out all the issues customer might have. I know my licence issue not been resolved from last two months!!!

I'm trying to sort out my licence issue from last two months but unfortunately it is still keep going. I have to spend couple of hours on phone to get it sorted and they assure it won't happen again but after couple of weeks and sometime every next day it stop working and keep asking for renew your subscription. I'm very much pissed off with support people as it seems like they don't know shit and I'm thinking to change to xero instead.
The interface is ok but the customer service is terrible

I liked the layout of the software. It is generally easy to use. The colour palette and general design is quite pleasing to the eye.
Minpunten:
It's quite expensive for a small business and of course they hide a lot of information before you purchase. At per month I could not enter more than 5 expenses per month! Ridiculous! Had to upgrade! Cancelling you account is very difficult and they will try and screw you out of every last cent. I will never ever use this company or software again. SO ANGRY at the account closing process. They might have stolen but it has cost them a customer and I will tell everybody I meet to avoid that software and company like the plague!
