there is a good amount of a learning curve that comes with using the software, however there is an ample amount of guides and answers to most FAQ's posted on the Autodesk website to aid all fellow designers in the industry.pairing the software with other non-Autodesk software's would be challenging such as transferring models from revit to a non-Autodesk would result in data loss and inaccuracies in the transferred model .

Powerful, but space consuming

Opmerkingen: Overall is definitely positive. Program allows students to learn basics (and more) of architectural design. Some more expansive tutorials would be nice as only beginner workflow has really proven useful for students.

Pluspunten:

It is very easy for beginning users to become quickly proficient by following tutorials. The software is also very robust. Students can design, furnish and create renderings/walkthroughs all within the same program. They can also import any components not included in the software from a number of support pages as well as some vendors who have created .rvt files of their products that allow it to be put into the space digitally with all correct measurements.

Minpunten:

Very robust, but takes up so much disk space it sometimes freezes computer before even opening. A LT version may be beneficial, but an entirely online version, even if it's a "light" version, would be preferred. Students aren't using all available features so it would be nice if the education version took less space, so students could have access on computers other than the one lab with enough computing power to run the software.

Solid software

Opmerkingen: We have 6 licenses, a mix o Revit LT and Revit. With Revit we are able to save time by creating a 3d models along with flat drawings. Basic views (in Revit LT) with reliastic materials are ok to present to our clients. In complete Revit (sans LT) you can do realistic renderings. Thats a great advantage to be able to use one software instead of 3.

Pluspunten:

Quite intuititive. A lot of options to create ready to use templates. Realistic views of ongoing project. If something is missing you can create it with ease. Basic programing haleps to create parametric obejcts.

Minpunten:

Requires company to create its own libraries of object. Built in libraries are beyond horrible. Fine tuning takes time. Pesky errors (dimension line lost reference and it will not tell which)

excellent program for architecture and design

Far Exceeds abilities of CAD related design software

Opmerkingen: I use Revit on a daily basis to develop architectural projects, and use it to coordinate design ideas on a regular basis with engineering consultants.

Pluspunten:

The coordination of all aspects of a building through all the different sheets. Change something in one view and it seamlessly gets updated on all other related sheets in the project.

Minpunten:

Every now and then I come across a tool that I wish had the ability to do something extra. Hopefully in future releases these functions will be includes.

I like Revit 2021

Opmerkingen: It's an excellent program.

Pluspunten:

You don't need to use any other drawing programs if you learn how to use it. I started to use Revit in 2015, and I was witnessed how the improvement implemented in most of the Revit features. Recently, Autodesk has been improved an energy analysis model feature to suit the 2030 plan of reducing carbon emission to zero.

Minpunten:

Need to improve in structural analysis modeling.

Start in the field of 3D modelling and projects of larger scale and complexity.

Opmerkingen: It's a great software, and it's one of the programs I've used and still use the most in architecture. It has everything you need for the realisation of a project and you just come to love it the more you learn and use it. If you get to use it enough you will start to feel that you don't need any other software to work with, but you should always keep in mind that there are complementary programs that will make the use of the program even easier and you shouldn't close yourself to the idea that it is bad to make use of them even if Revit can do it. In general it is a program that is constantly updated and really adapts to the evolution of architecture and the complexity of it; and it plans to continue to do so for many years to come.

Both its platform, as well as tools and the extensive work capacity that can be performed on it, as well as the comfort and ease of navigating a project from zero to the completion of final renders. Although it is "easy" to use, it can take you a lot of time to get used to it, it is one of the programmes that sometimes I still have to look for tutorials on how to use its tools even if I have been using it for all the years of my degree and part of my working life. Once you understand the basics it becomes common to say that it is "easy" to use, but it does take a great deal of time and patience not to get lost or make common mistakes that may or may not be fixable.

Best BIM Product

Opmerkingen: I have been using Revit since last 3 years for modeling MEP services, producing shop drawings and quality take off.
I use Revit to create a model which is used for clash coordination review in Navisworks.
Revit saves lots of time in compare with other software as has many time saving and automation features.

It is the best drafting and 3D modeling software that I have used so far which have great features. The best part is that it is a multi user worksharing software by the help of which your whole team can work on a single project. You just need to save the file as central file. You can make a template and save it and use it anytime when your start a protect so that you not need to set the project standards like text font, leaders, dimensions style, layout etc each time. Just you can open the template and start working. Last but not the list, revit allows you to create different parameter for the object that helps to add necessary information of the object. The information provided can be extracted by help of scheduling. I will highly recommend to start practicing this software as it is going to be the future of AEC industry.

The only cons I have got about Revit is the it uses a lot of memory to run smoothly. One can only use Revit in effectively and smoothly if he/she have high configuration systems.

many linked computers in one office will let them work on the same project during the same time, so coordination of architects, engineers, technical will be fast and easy.
so for serious construction work, and mostly in huge project where so many elements have to be coordinated between each other, revit is essential! will avoid many mistakes, and is great for workflow.

Opmerkingen: Overall, since we have been using Revit for our designs and drafting, we have been able to identify errors in our design using the clash detection abilities. Since designs are in drawn in both 3D and 2D, this has greatly increased our production time and most effectively present the actual 3D designs to our client at the same time. We have also been able share projects among other Professionals in the industry.

Revit is no doubt the best software out there in Terms of BIM (Building information Modeling)! No Architect should use anything less! With Revit one can build free forms easily, manage the building Information, and easily share projects. Its very easy to import other CAD files and manage them effectively. Another thing this software has been able to do is incorporate other Add-on tools like Enscape, Avail Browswer, e.t.c. for maximum efficiency. lest I forget, This software creates both the 2D and 3D simultaneously!

Hmmm.... this can be a little difficult, but one major thing I wish AutoDesk would do is make framing of Walls and Floors easier than it is right now.

Great software for architecture, design and engineering

The software has a lot of capabilities. The amount of things it can do are incredible. For a designer like myself, it makes the design process much easier than having to use multiple software. I can design the space, build a model and render all in one. It also helps tremendously when it comes to construction documents, as it is much easier to create and edit those in the same file. This program is also great because multiple people can collaborate in one model at the same time

Because how much this program does and helps, sometimes there are too many ways to edit things. This is not usually an issue when one person is working on a model, but when many people work in the same file, it can be confusing

Best 3D modeling software i ever used

Best thing is it having lot of templates which are suitable for our designs. It is the industry standard for producing clear and accurate documentations and can be customized to show any level of detail required.
