Easy to use for the user

Opmerkingen: Overall experience has been great as everything has gone rather quickly after submitting the details.

Pluspunten:

I enjoyed that it was easy to submit all the required information for backgroud checks.Additionally the customer support works in case there are any questions or problems.

Minpunten:

I wanted to know what details I had submitted and would love to see all the fields submitted even if I can not edit them. This caused me to go to customer support to verify I had submitted the right information instead of just being able to see it myself.

Quick and easy

Pluspunten:

The turnaround time for check results to come back, is very quick.

Minpunten:

At present one can only ask for a professional or HR reference, i.e. there is no option to ask for both to be checked for the same candidate.

Okay product

Opmerkingen: All of our issues have been solved quickly which is great but I've been surprised at the amount of issues we have had in this short time frame... Such as errors in billing, errors in the difference between UK and US regulations, and just general reference check confusion.

Pluspunten:

Great customer service and very responsive rep. Easy set up and integration into ATS.

Minpunten:

My main concern has been that we often have to remind Zinc that we are based in the US and so there are significantly different legal requirements. I also dont like how Zinc tends to blend reference checks, employment verifications, and background checks. In my experience, a reference check is to get a candid response on how one specific person worked with this individual. An employment verification is to verify the dates that they worked there. A background check is to get the criminal background and maybe some identity verification. It has gotten pretty confused internally for us because of the way you have to set this up in Zinc.

Opmerkingen: The customer services has been excellent and the platform is easy to use and navigate.

Pluspunten:

Easily accessed on your mobile - can take employers seconds to complete a reference. Helpful and customizable notifications, easy to keep a track of pending checks.

Minpunten:

Zinc do not use the Work Number to verify employment, which means that it is not globally inclusive and works better for some countries than it does for others. We spend a lot of time at Snyk finding work arounds, directly with the employee. The employment verifications section need some work as is hard to set the criteria you want, as new joiners/employees can find ways around this. We wanted to set our references to either 3 past employers, or employment verification(s) that covered the last 7 years - whichever was met first. However this isn't possible, it can only be either or. Also if employees provide two references, for the same employer, this counts towards the 3 different employer references needed, and this is not right.

Zinc has saved us so much time

Opmerkingen: Overall brilliant. Easy to do, even if you have checks that you don't usually require, such as regulatory roles, you can just create a package online and they invoice you for what you need. Their customer support is quick, easy and sort out any issues you have straight away. Strongly recommend.

Pluspunten:

We previously did our references and DBS checks in house. Adding Zinc into to our ATS for automation has been a game changer. As a small team, it has saved us so much time!

Minpunten:

The only one tiny thing is to put in a template email for referencing for regulatory roles, and explain why you need to ask the extra questions. Might also be good to have template questions from FCA forms

My experience using Zinc

Opmerkingen: As a user, it served it's purpose well.

Pluspunten:

Using zinc was pretty good. It UI designs are very pleasing to the sees and it's easy to use. I was able to get things done quite fast without much struggle.

Minpunten:

User navigations are not well intuitive causing one to search longer for obvious features. The upload feature for the chat wasn't working, thus I couldn't upload a screenshot while talking to the operator.

Great system for checking references

Pluspunten:

Zinc platform is very easy to use. It provides automation and transparency which is something I've not seen done this well before.

Minpunten:

There seem to be some glitches in the system, e.g. once a name of the company is assigned to an email address, it can't be changed by the user. However, the customer support is able to resolve it very quickly.

Great replacement for a lacklustre rival background-checker with immediate QoL improvements.

Opmerkingen: I'm saving at least 2 hours a week through Zinc.

Pluspunten:

Quick set-up, fast turnaround of references, on-hand chat assistance.

Minpunten:

Not yet encountered noteworthy issues. Perhaps the option to view/hide detailed information on cases, rather than option minimise/maximise entire review section?

The absolute need for confirmation of my degree undertaken >10yrs ago in an unrelated field. But I suppose that was the employer and not Zinc specifically.

Seamless Greenhouse integration, flawless support, innovative approach, fantastic flexibility.

Opmerkingen: We're using it to reference between first and second interview. I was worried about candidate pushback but haven't really received any.

Pluspunten:

I like how well it integrates with our ATS. It's easily built in as a step in our Greenhouse processes, and integrates really well into our process. We started using this product when we added references between first and second interviews. The support has been outstanding, every minor issue receives prompt attention and we had total support during setup. We're a tech company and I like how slick the interface is; it allows responses via text and we get the responses more quickly that way. The system is also highly customize-able.

Minpunten:

I really don't have a ton of constructive feedback. It's working well for what we need and we can change as our needs evolve.

The automated DBS check got my name wrong without anyway for me to edit it myself.

Education check wouldn’t allow me to choose an exact date (DD/MM/YY), just month and year, and then it shows as a discrepancy when institution confirms the details.

I used Zinc for a background check in a recent role change. I made a mistake initially but got in touch with the team who corrected it for me quickly, with great customer service. The results came back very fast, and it was sorted within 48 hours! A great service.

Used for a professional reference

Opmerkingen: I was asked to provide a professional reference and received an email request to a written reference via Zinc.

Pluspunten:

- It was easy to use - The whole process was seamless

Minpunten:

- It didn't say which company was asking for the reference in the email request or during the reference check so that was a bit confusing - References done automatically like this are very impersonal and there is value in talking to someone about a reference. The questions were very generic but I guess this is from the company who used the software and not the software itself

One request I'd ask is that those who are on a VISA or have other right to work documents that is not a UK passport. It would be great if the report pulled the exact document they had for instance, rather than stating the person is on a 'visa' that expires on x. It would be good if the type of visa was specified e.g Tier 2, graduate etc.

Opmerkingen: It was a fantastic and very short and less cumbersome compared to other I have used.

Pluspunten:

Timeliness, responsiveness and conciseness of what is expected of user with being ambiguous made me like their process.Unlike other reference checks and background checks,Zinc was very reliable and informed user at every stage and what is expected and what can be done to complete each stage. This was very encouraging.

Minpunten:

The only area I can point out is the process of inputting signature in the form ,it was a bit complex.
