Opmerkingen: Overall McAfee DLP Endpoint Security is a great tool for data loss prevention. it tracks and protect almost every data leakage that could possibly happen.

Pluspunten:

It Works in back-end and does it's tasks leaving you at ease. And one of another advantage is it can be run in minimum resource environments as well. and covers almost all areas including email, cloud uploads, USB alerts.

Minpunten:

Sometimes gets too much False Positive alerts if we could add more filtered layer to the reports according to organizational policies it would be great.

Opmerkingen: McAfee DLP ES is most reliable and intelligent tool. McAfee DLP ES will safeguard personal data with automated reporting in your organization.

Pluspunten:

McAfee DLP ES is protecting intellectual property and business critical information on the network and the endpoints with efficient reporting methods

Minpunten:

When getting decrypt , it will take more time & some times getting stuck

It's NOT the BEST

Opmerkingen: As a bank, we must prevent sharing our data. Also, we must make sure our data that will not be shared. Because of regulation, DLP tool is a necessity. So, We used McAfee DLP Endpoint, then switched it to another DLP tool.

Pluspunten:

It's easy to use and customer support is enough. Upgrade or update DLP application is better than alternative products. If you want to create DLP rules, you will suffer.

Minpunten:

McAfee DLP Endpoint does not have a discovery mode, OCR or AI based approach. It's not easy to update policies on DLP clients.

McAfee DLP - Best way to secure your data

Opmerkingen: McAfee DLP is fully PCIDSS complied. So if your organization is trying to protect sensitive data such as bank card data, McAfee DLP will definitely give you great benefits.

Pluspunten:

McAfee offers world class security to your data. McAfee shows you in a pop when the policy is violated and in the same pop up, user can request for a bypass (If it is a fault positive)

Minpunten:

When we configure policies to identify sensitive data (Card Numbers), McAfee mistakenly identify 16 digit figures as Card numbers.

Opmerkingen: Overall, McAfee has a great management system to see where equipment is going and a good informative UI.

Pluspunten:

I really liked how McAfee DLP Endpoint kept track of who was on and off their laptop which helped me see how "lost/stolen" laptops were still being used and how to lock them down. I also like their feature of having the recovery key for macs escrowed in for ease of access.

Minpunten:

I do however, think there customer service could be better on the response time and in depth info that could save myself and my org's time.

It's not worth the effort required and computing resources consumed

Opmerkingen: We had a lot of problems with our customers since they wuld be working fine with our policy baselines, but then after activating a new customer specific rule, CPU usage would go to 100%. Basically, the most simple configuration change would trigger CPU usage to impossible levels. So we dumped the software for other vendors.

Pluspunten:

We can say that every feature McAfee says the product has, is there. And they kind of work as expected from a functional point of view.

Minpunten:

Ok, every offered feature is there and it works. But, with two major drawbacks: the agent consumes an absolutely incomprehensible amount of CPU, which means the customer ends up asking us to disable some rules so the computers can be usable. Second, the complexity to make the features work is to much. We've been using McAfee for several years to provide managed services but for DLP we were forced to find other technologies. That was in early 2017, we have no intention of evaluating current versions.

Pluspunten:

Works well behind the scenes and does what it promises. Able to filter out information being transmitted over email based on pre defined rules. Will catch valuable PCI data such as credit cards, social security numbers, account numbers.

Minpunten:

There is a bit of a catch when setting the filters for SSN and CC. If you make the filtering too narrow you will end up catching a lot of information that was not intended. Of course people will always find new ways around security protocols, this DLP gives you the scalability you need.

It is an excellent option to protect the end user avoiding the loss or damage of information

Pluspunten:

The ease of implementation and the ability to restrict and report any attack in real time showing pop-up windows.

Minpunten:

The rigidity, since it does not allow to open information if it considers that it could be risky; besides the cost.

Keeps me safe!

Opmerkingen: McAfee is great security software! I have had it for years, both on a personal and business level. I trust McAfee and what they do to keep me safe on the daily.

Pluspunten:

I have had McAfee for many years and the one feature I like most about it is simple it keeps my CPU's safe. The program updates itself and stays current in regards to new threats and Malware. I have a business to run and I appreciate McAfee protecting me 24/7!

Minpunten:

What do I like the least about McAfee? I don't know the proper way to pronounce it! Is it "MAC-AFEE" or "MCAFEE?" : )

McAfee DLP is a great tool to close the leak information.

I was implement McAfee DLP Endpoint blocking USB port and all users was receptiv about the new tool. DLP have a lots of function.

Minpunten:

In McAfee DLP Endpoint it's necessary have a help desk to provide the unlocked key, by this case there are historical transaction.

Pluspunten:

McAfee DLP Endpoint runs smoothly even in limited resource environments and it supports multiple platforms like windows and mac-OS. Covers all major vectors of data leakages such as emails, cloud uploads, web postings and removable media file sharing.

Minpunten:

Tends to produce large number of false positive alerts due to the detection mechanisms used in the product

Its great and easy to use. I believe that it has been around so many years that its trusted and does its job at the end of the day.

Minpunten:

There have many times that it causes glitches in my tech items. Sometimes it will slow my processes down and not functional.

Nice with some minor problems.

McAfee DLP Endpoint is a complex and mature soluion. A lot of features. Collect all critical events to monitor de lost of data. Implement security on different layer. Monitor USB, email, print, internet.

Minpunten:

Sometime use too more hardware resources. No other problems was identified.

Opmerkingen: The first and foremost important and helpful benefit using McAfee DLP will have centralised management console where you can monitor and control the data loss, antivirus, encryption using single platform and a valuable dashboard it shows lot of good MIS reports

Pluspunten:

Easy to install the packages along with Antivirus protection Integrate with McAfee Cloud Data Protection for visibility and realtime monitoring of sensitive data going to the cloud Preventing all malicious activities in the end user machines to the network we can monitor and prevent maximum percentage of data loss in the end user machines when you are managing the corporate confidential data.

Minpunten:

Few contents will not be in control where you cannot manage the web gateway level security and encrypted files during the data loss.

Opmerkingen: Es una magnifica herramienta que cualquier organización debe adquirir para prevenir la fuga de información, en tiempos donde la información es el principal activo de una organización.

Pluspunten:

Lo que más me gusta de McAfee DLP Endpoint es que me permite otorgar permisos a usuarios, que en determinados momentos, requerirán conectar un dispositivo USB o Bluetooth a su Pc, mediante la creación de excepciones, de las reglas previamente creadas.

Minpunten:

Considero que es una herramienta completa, ya que es capaz de parametrizarle las configuraciones que la empresa necesite con miras a evitar el robo de datos.

Works well, choice of local government to protect data

Opmerkingen: Data protection, especially regarding sensitive data for local gov't

Pluspunten:

This software runs effortlessly in the background and has been useful in identifying potential threats and keeping our data safe.

Minpunten:

The only con of this software is that it needs updated often and constantly has pop-ups to do so. There may be options to turn on automatic updates, but I haven't played with it long enough to find it.

Not my favorite but it's good

Pluspunten:

The user interface of the endpoint protection is fairly simple for the end user. It seems to have virus definitions on par with most of the other brands. It's a solid solution.

Minpunten:

The one thing that I hesitate with MacAfee is the software weight. It feels really heavy on the processor - much more than say Avast. Now I haven't been able to see an improvement on actual protection, so I'm not sure if there is a reason for how heavy it is, but it's noticeable.

The McAfee software have been present for some time now. The DLP Endpoint includes an anti-virus, backup software, Website protection and many more. As an office assistant, my desktop is filled with hundreds of important data and losing all these data is a loss to our team. I have been using McAfee for a long time. It does it job as advertised and is very independent. Notifications for updates are present which is a great advantage to increase the software’s stability.

Different packages are to be purchased for complete or full application of McAfee.

limit functionality vs. symantec, management is complex and needs big server in the organization. with limited connectivity to the network module.

The Features are covered in all varticals like cloud protection, Network Access Protection, Printer Protection, Web Protection and others...

Minpunten:

Here below you can find some inputs which should be compressed or improve the packages: 1.Too many packages to be downloaded and which should be checked in E-Policy Orchestrate. The DLP has 2 packages one is DLP agent & other is DLP management. Both the packages are checked-in Master Repository & Extension which is bit lengthy activity for the end customer.

It is the easiest and most reliable DLP application to manage the classification software that is required by companies subject to PCI DSS. This way, data can be shared securely and PCI compatibility can be achieved.

Minpunten:

Incorrect tagging can adversely affect the workflow. You need to use it more carefully.

McAfee protection

Opmerkingen: Its functions are really reliable, it presents security updates, ability to scan systems and monitor the status of the McAfee agent. When you perform your updates, it shows the time when the antivirus was updated, the installed version, the last verification of the security update.

Pluspunten:

Mcafee is one of the best antivirus programs, it is also easy to use. The feature that I like the most is full encryption to avoid data theft from lost laptops or mobile devices. It provides standard protection for enterprise networks, small-scale networks and single-user or multi-user systems.

Minpunten:

Usually, when McAfee protection systems try an update. Do not update the agent version, you should keep trying to update the version, plus we stopped using it because at that time we had a free version for a short time.
