Perfect Software for Estheticians

Opmerkingen: Square Appointments was easy to set up and use. I have a ton of SKUs and that took the longest. Services setup was easy. Online setup was easy. Getting clients to use the online booking was easy.

Pluspunten:

Square appointments is great for my little skincare studio and boutique. I like seeing all my appointments in one place. How easy it is for clients to book/change/reschedule themselves with an account. It was easy to incorporate my reports, marketing and social media with Square Appointments. Plus, I can check clients out from the calendar and keep track of all their previous purchase and recommendations in one place.

Minpunten:

I'd like more charting abilities and notes for clients' services.

Square are the biggest CROOKS. VERY VERY ANGRY WITH THEM

Opmerkingen: I will not be recommending square to any of my counterparts. I went to all the effort of setting all this up. Got rejected for some reason on accepting credit cards and so they completely shut my account down and wouldn't let me log in again. Took off with my one months subscription too. And gave me no excuse as to what actually went on. Complete and utter CROOKS. and very angry about this as i barely have a minute as it is to scratch myself - very busy massage therapist. I have certs verifying i am fully trained in my field. A business rego/ABN and a business account set up with ANZ who never had an issue dealing with me. Feel i've been treated like a second class citizen, maybe because I'm from overseas ?

Took a long time to set things up and me not being very web savvy extra effort from me to have to get done

My top pick for independent hairstylists

Opmerkingen: The experience with Square has been consistent. This is EXTREMELY important. Other appointment software I've used in the past have either had issues with connectivity, getting funds delivered to you in time, or irregular charges with fees. Having peace of mind knowing that the system is up and running smoothly is a huge relief.

Pluspunten:

Square Appointments is the best option for independent hairstylists. Not only is it affordable, but it's straightforward and easy to use. I have tried many of the other appointment booking services out there and I find Square to be the most reliable. They have great features like processing times which allow you to double book, online booking, an online waitlist, and an app for clients to use. They also have Square Online which allows you to sell products online to your customers with the option for shipping or curbside pickup. I also love that Square has a savings account option so you can easily set aside a certain percentage of your sales for taxes or general savings.

Square Appointments is Perfect For New Business Owners

Opmerkingen: My overall experience with Square Appointments was very nice because of how easily it was for my clients to book me on Google directly. If you’re a new business owner, use Square Appointments to make your life a lot easier.

I loved how Square has a free version that integrates with Google Business Page and my clients can set their appointments simply through my Google page. This was very convenient and made running a lash business so much easier

Minpunten:

I didn’t like the fact that I had to download different Square apps for different functions that I needed. For example I had to have Square Appointments setter installed and Square Payment Processor installed separately. It would be nice to do multiple functions on one Square app instead of having to install different apps every time. Also, the appointment setting section did not have a place for client to pay deposits. This was very critical for me to have, and was the main reason why I started looking for other apps that had this functionality working better on their platforms. Square said they had it but every time I tried to set it up, it didn’t work.

Quick and easy to sync with Google Calendar. We use it for multiple appointments.

Minpunten:

We cannot edit outgoing text messages. I wrote this and when I checked, Square has updated and made custom SMS a reality now! The Customer database exporting is not great into Google Contacts.

Best business practice

Opmerkingen: I’ve been using square since 2017 when I opened my business. I utilize CRM systems that allow me to use square as my processing too and it just has made the entire process so easy.

Flawed system, allow's clients to take advantage of your business

Opmerkingen: horrible with apts.. they will not add any features despite over whelming crystals for the added apps because they don't agree or like the requested feature. the flaws in the card on file protection system that can be deleted from the client end cost the business money. their last of understand for adding feature is crazy. they have no idea what things are like from out point of view and refusing to fix these feature cause they don't think its necessary.

the system is super flawed. to book an apt you can require a card on file for no show protection. However clients can book an apt put card information in, then after they book the apt all they have to do is log into their account and delete their card on file. I am not notified they did it and when they don't show up for their apt I can't charge them because they took their card off their account right after they made the apt. this is a joke. then on top of that they don't offer the feature to block clients from booking online.. so then I can't stop them from booking future apps when they owe me money for their no call now show.. when this was brought to their attention in community forms and new features .. they responded back they want the clients to be able to have control over their card information. no these clients would not exit without my business. they are my clients not their and they have no right telling me anything about my clients. I am super disappointment in square with this system and very upset that people who sit at a desk thinking they know what features are best when they don't run or own their own business let alone the field I am working in. bottom line there is no card on file feature despite what they say since a client can delete it themself and still keep and apt and not show up for it. I don't see square doing anything about it since this has been a on going topic for a year or more now.

Good but with limitations

The best thing about Square Appointments that the free feature gives you most of the options, most important being to collect payments and deposit them straight into your bank account. No fuss. Easy to use and integrate.

However, Square Appointments is best for people who serve local clientele and do not serve clientele based in another time zone. In my case, I have a business where I meet up online with people located in different time zones and across the globe. The biggest disadvantage is that Square Appointments does not show booking times in their local time zone. It uses my time zone everywhere, it makes it super confusing for people who are booking. Another con, is that it will collect payments only in your currency, it won't convert or collect payments in another currency. I am based in Australia, but my customers in Canada would want to pay in Canadian Dollars and not Australian dollars, thus is a bit of hinderance for me. The last thing is that if you wish to go paid then it is pretty expensive starting at $35 per month, per location. All this when other competitors are giving the same features for much less.

Highly Recommend

Opmerkingen: I enjoy square appointments because it also works with square payments. After I am done with my salon service I can just tell my stylist the last four of the credit card number to run. It is also easy to reschedule and make changes.

I enjoy the fact that after your first appointment it saves your info and after that you can just enter your phone number and everything else will prefill and it makes it way easier to schedule your appt.

To be honest I don't have any complaints at this moment.

This online booking feature is phenomenal. Customers can access the site or app anytime day or night. I like the features of being able to choose from different colors or layouts. My customers also provided great feedback about receiving reminder text messages as an appointment approaches.

Tiered pricing mistake

Opmerkingen: I was happy until they mucked up their pricing. With no option to continue select services without now paying $30/m vs FREE it’s a real sign for me to move on. How could you not consider that multi provider salons are phasing out and many more single suite clients would like to try Square? I have been using this for nearly 5 years and I will be leaving.

I used to love this free service. Used with the other services it was easy and convenient for both me and my guests.

Misappropriated tier pricing has driven me away. As a single person, I do not need to Italian the multiple locations or employee services but cannot retain confirmation and reminder contacts without paying $30/m. Other providers will do this and more for free.

It's free... but incredibly easy to use! It works well, syncs with my google calendar and makes scheduling appointments easy for my clients! Moving things around and editing services is easy too which is HUGE!

I wish they had a more user friendly interface with more options when it came to storing client info. I'd love more detailed options for notes as well as a way to store images and view them side by side for before and afters- it was almost a deal breaker. They have said this will come in the future as a LOT of people have requested this but nothing has been done.
