Pluspunten:

It is an excellent price-quality ratio. The most modern solutions, quick support, quick updates. this is something to pay attention to. It's something that you need every day at work and in business.

Minpunten:

Typo translation, it bothers me. Such a good product should take care of details. This applies to all interface languages except English.

An Old Engineer's Experience with ActCAD

Opmerkingen: I am just a home user, retired 11 years ago. When my AutoCAD 14 was no longer supported, I looked for a replacement. Luckily I found ActCAD. You buy the license ONCE. It has a 64bit version and has all the power I could ever expect to use.

Pluspunten:

My previous experience with AutoCAD 14 was enough to most all of the many features of this software. The software is unbelievably inexpensive. It is so inexpensive, compared to other software, I thought I had read the price incorrectly. I have not had any problems running the program on my Windows 10 computer. I had been the senior project manager of two $100 million plus projects that used AutoCAD 14 and based on the results of the AutoCAD 14 software compared to my ActCAD software, I would say that they were equal.

Minpunten:

I struggled at first with 3-D functions when I tried them, but now I look forward to trying them again.

Need better support

Opmerkingen: We use generation and modification DWG drawings with our clients and customers for IC packaging.

Pluspunten:

It seems a right solution for us since we use actcad for our basic drawings. Mainly add lines to IC package drawings.

Minpunten:

Customer support is very bad. We are using live licenses and I have requests for overall manageability but these requests are still Pending. [sensitive content hidden] If these portions of website is not used, remove them from the site.

Excellent software for using it in Chemical Industry for various P&IDs and Civil/Structural drawings

Opmerkingen: Overall it is best product to use. It is more convenient to have additional licences as it is less expensive. At the same time it helps us with All similar features and requires no additional training for using it. It runs smooth on basis i5 Processor and without Graphic card.

Pluspunten:

It is having same features which we are using in expensive software like Autocad. At the same time service support is good. Separate training is not at all required.

Minpunten:

Overall perform this product is very good and there are no cons at all.

Review

Opmerkingen: The best business problem solved with ActCAD was that i could afford an official CAD product for my business at low coast!!!!

Pluspunten:

The product is easy to use and it's easy for the user to adopt to it, especially when they have already an experience with similar software as an engineer student for example. What i personally like the most, is the similar construction it has with "AutoCAD" in overall, which was the software i first learnt to work with as a student.

Minpunten:

1) There is no separate command for measuring angles! 2) When measuring area and happens to undo a vertex, the boundary of currently selected vertices disappears. 3) The selection options need upgrade.

Not worth buying for me.

Opmerkingen: Disappointing experience. Would probably try another CAD alternative.

Pluspunten:

Similar interface and GUI to AutoCAD. Many features (but not all) similar to AutoCAD.

Minpunten:

WORKSPACE - DRAFTING AND ANNOTATION - Block library would not work in most of the cases and would disappear from your drawing and you would not be able to use blocks which they are offering. - Editing "Attributes" in ActCAD is a forever task. Also, "MTEXT" in attributes does not work most of the times. - "Field" tab in ActCAD has very less features available as compared to other commercial software. Especially "ctab" feature is not available which is a very basic feature. - You do not get a different dimension layer in the "Annotation" tab where you can set a different layer to only dimension text and lines. - Cannot not run "Visual Basic" applications. - Very Slow. With the recommended system requirements as they have on their website, ActCAD is not able to handle even small scale projects. - CUSTOMER SUPPORT: They advertise that they have lifetime customer support. They will reply you promptly but the issues still remain UNSOLVED. I contacted customer support regarding "Block Library" issue somewhere in October 2020 but till date the issue is NOT RESOLVED.

Good product and service

Opmerkingen: Excellent software. It works well once you learn the menus and get used to the functions. This will be an easy task, even after years of using AutoCAD.

Pluspunten:

Works just the the 'other' CAD software. Commands are the same. The menus are different, and that takes a little time to get used to if you use both applications. But other than that detail, you will not go wrong with this software. I've used it for 3-4 years now and it does everything I need it to do.

Minpunten:

It is tricky to use it on several computers (only one at a time). I could not get it to transfer the license because their web domain is blocked on our internal network. It required special settings by our IT department to work, and it's still buggy. This is the only problem I've ever had.

Good for life

Pluspunten:

It’s very easy interface. Feature to license transfer.

Minpunten:

Layout. It’s sometimes gets out of the page when print is given from the layout.

ActCad does what it is supposed to do....What more could you ask for ?

Pluspunten:

All of the familar details of AutoCad but not the cost.....

Minpunten:

Program seems to need to reset and recover a file .... Not sure why this is, but it does recover the file and I am not loosing anything in the process.....

Former AutoCAD User

Opmerkingen: Great. This has been even better than I could have anticipated. I used the software through a trial period and did not hesitate to purchase when the time came. Excellent CAD option for those who prefer not to have a subscription based software.

Pluspunten:

Cost and function. As other CAD software moved to a subscription based option, this was a great replacement. Very impressed with the interface (once I determined where everything was located) and the overall product.

Minpunten:

Nothing. As mentioned, I had to learn a little with the location of and functions as they are all different from my experience with a previous CAD software, but this comes with anything new.

Better than I imagined.

Opmerkingen: Overall, I am very pleased to have ActCAD, especially considering the value. The transferable key is easy to switch over to my laptop when I travel.

Pluspunten:

To be perfectly honest, I was looking for an alternative to the extremely expensive standard when the COVID 19 pandemic occurred and we had to cut down on expenses. So, after trying several other CAD programs which simply were too limited or have an unfamiliar format that would require too long to master, I happened on ActCAD almost by accident. To my delight ActCAD turned out to be the perfect alternative in every way.

Minpunten:

Most of what I do is in 3D rendering. The quality of visual renderings displayed on my excellent monitors, especially when transparencies are involved is noticeably grainy in appearance. Also, what I call "anchor points" which would be the reference base point for copying or moving anything usually defaults to some undesired reference. I'd like to know if there's a fix for that. Finally, when executing any command the default position for the keystrokes should be the COMMAND line. It is a nuisance to have to always anchor the command with the cursor.

Value of money for more benefits

Opmerkingen: very good, quite fast. good license.

Pluspunten:

Price, features similiar to autocad, interface and commands similiar to autocad.

Minpunten:

sometimes buggy, but the software company always update. During closing, the dialog sometimes confusing.

An affordable and useful (but with issues) solution to a professional 2D Drawing program

Opmerkingen: At least for the kind of work I do, It's a cheap-good solution. Simply put, you get the job done with it. It's easy to use (if you are already familiar with AutoCAD) and you can generate a proffesional product using the program without paying too much. The best part is, you don't have to pay a subscription.

Pluspunten:

Definitely the price. The difference is just not comparable when it comes to a standard program on the market (AutoCAD). The overall quality of ActCAD stands out when it comes to a simple CAD program for small and medium companies, includding individuals.

Minpunten:

Altough there are a lot of positive features, there are characteristics that require more polishing. Just to mention a few: Table Import, Dinamic Blocks, Text Style configuration (it usually crashes the program), overkill rework, export data, etc.

Actcad 2018 Professional

Opmerkingen: Moving licenses to other stations is a great idea, and very helpful, when it works.
When I bought several licenses, sales pitch said version would always be supported. Not true. 2018 Pro version doesn't update any more. Must purchase upgrade each year. They are taking customer annoyance lessons from Autocad. That said, I would buy it again. It works well. Far better than any other non-Autodesk product. I've tried most of them. Most are too buggy. ActCad is a winner.

Pluspunten:

Excellent product for price when compared to competition. It takes several requests, but they actually do eventually fix obvious flaws.

Minpunten:

Licenses often stick and can't be released to move to another station. Takes a few days, and multiple emails to convince them to release it. Unable to connect to server M1 is usual error message. Very annoying. Printing actual screen is a challenge. Often it scales objects differently when you print what looks great on screen.

Brief Comments

Opmerkingen: I found ACTCAD provided a basis to get to the next level , to integrate with a modern corporate status as well as getting a mindful method of generating management scenarios. I moved my overall portal up a notch within the whole schemata.

Pluspunten:

Th ePerpetual license with a dongle is completely independent and accessible.

Minpunten:

It seems there are many features that are available however they are not tangible to the average engineer who usually sketches and hands redlines to the drafters.

GOOD CAD PLATFORM.

Opmerkingen: Good for existing AutoCad users. They have one more option available now.

Pluspunten:

This is very nice and user freiendly software. Very nice alternative CAD software at very reasonable price compare to other software. Most of the Cad user’s need are satisfied in this software. Strongly recommended for student and professionals.

Minpunten:

Courser speed is little slow. Need some improvement related to LISP loading. Also need some improvement for compaitability w.r.t other existing Cad software so that user can check the data in two different software to get more confidence of using ACTCAD.

ACTCAD is an inexpensive alternative to AutoCAD

Opmerkingen: It's ok right out of the box as long as you're not doing anything too complicated.

Pluspunten:

Easy to get started from AutoCAd. Difficult modifying some functions to work like used to in AutoCAD.

Minpunten:

Some functions don't work as well as AutoCAD. Difficult and time consuming getting tech support.

Best AutoCAD alternative

Opmerkingen: For daily use as a DWG viewer with ability to make minor changes to DWG if needed as I mainly work in 3D software.

Pluspunten:

Value. Low cost and high efficiency CAD software. Completely fulfill my needs of licensed 2D software.

Minpunten:

Sometimes crash on "heavy" (large) DWG files

Very used tool for design, drawing and modeling in 2D and 3D

Pluspunten:

easy learning, you can find information on the network for your learning, just enough to know about CAD programs to make it the most powerful tool in the market, has different predetermined electric blocks

In my opinion there are no bad points, low price, has a good support, an excellent tool for drawing and modeling

Easy to use, simple to understand. Good replacement for expensive software.

Complexity to use 3D modeling. Would have been ideal if it would go hand in hand to Solidworks

I have also used renowned 2d software like Auto Cad and Draftsight and found Act cad at par comparing for 2D designing
