Free and open source 3D design software
Opmerkingen: Blender is the best software for creating rich animations and visual effects on a low budget.
Pluspunten:
The Blender software comes with CPU and GPU rendering abilities, advanced sculpting tools, production-ready visual effects, high-quality animation and rigging, and supports 2D design in 3D scenes. Works great on Windows, Mac and Linux systems too. Offers rich collection of models and elements with Blender cloud membership at $11.5 per month.
Minpunten:
Blender is a bit complicated to learn. Not suitable for developing games. Models are somewhat noisy and messy to clean.

Opmerkingen: Overall, Blender is an incredibly powerful and comprehensive 3D modeling tool. It has a wide variety of features and tools to help users create very complex models quickly and easily. It also has a great user interface that makes it easy to learn and use. However, it can be quite intimidating and slow to new users.
Pluspunten:
Blender is an incredibly powerful and comprehensive 3D modeling tool. It has a wide variety of features and tools to help users create very complex models quickly and easily. It also has a great user interface that makes it easy to learn and use.
Minpunten:
While Blender is very powerful, it can be quite intimidating to new users due to its complexity and the sheer number of features it has. It can also be quite slow compared to other 3D modeling software.
Blender, Best Free & Powerful 3D tool
Pluspunten:
It's user friendly and has alot of free tutorials to learn from not only tutorials but blender gives away free animation ready character to save time for Animators.
Minpunten:
I don't think I have issues with blender cause it keeps on getting better every day new monthly updates and fixes.
Worst 3d program
Opmerkingen: I had to use as a trainee in architectural office where all bigger 3d projects were done in blender. Why on earth anyone would use it because there was a cinema 4d licence in the house?
Pluspunten:
Cycles is quite good and you can get same quality as in commercial packages.
Minpunten:
It has no windows user aproach to its use and it is awkward to pick up and start making any project very fast Option are cluttered all over the place There is no left mouse action but it is something else.

Creative Alliance Review
Opmerkingen: Well it has been almost 4 years of Blender use and this software has evolved so much from when we started and we have been completely satisfied as a company and has enabled us to make many different quality 3D models according to our customers' preferences.
Pluspunten:
3D modeling could not be done without Blender. When we started as a start-up, Blender, being a free software helped us to such an extent that we cannot describe. We have produced so many image and video renders for our clients using the cycles renderer that helped us grow as a company because of good words from our clients. Blender is truly where everyone starts their 3D journey and we encourage students who want to learn 3D modeling and animation to look no further than Blender.
Minpunten:
The only con about Blender is, might be a personal opinion, the viewport navigation. It would me much more easier with the implementation of viewport navigation like that of Unreal Engine. That would make Blender the complete software in my opinion.
Talk 3D, Talk Blender (Best 3D Software)
Opmerkingen: aside video editng, blender software has really helped me improve in my sculpting skills, as a 3D artist.
Pluspunten:
the blender software has a cental hub for tutorials that could really come in handy, and among all other 3D softwares blender seems to be the most diverse when it comes to 3D features.
Minpunten:
For a smooth and comfortable use of blender software, user needs to make useof really high end, updated devices, and now not every one with the skills and low end devices can afford these high end devices, if some thing could be done, like providing a compactible version for low end devices, that will be great.
Blender - Jack of all trades
Pluspunten:
Blender's extensive capabilities cover a wide range of tasks. The convenience of editing renders directly without exporting, coupled with the node-based workflow that retains edits during re-rendering, enhances the process's efficiency. The integrated rendering engines provide practical solutions for both quick previews and full scene rendering. Blender's animation toolset excels in visualizing 3D designs, even though it may require external addons to compete with specialized software. Its toolkit encompasses modeling, sculpting, rendering, and editing, allowing you to complete entire projects within Blender. Of course you can't talk about blender, without mentioning it's open-source nature. In summary, it serves as a versatile tool, akin to a Swiss knife of 3D software, offering an accessible choice for hobbyists, freelancers, and small studios seeking quality without high costs
Minpunten:
While Blender's video editing capabilities are useful, they might not match the depth of specialized software. For achieving a polished final result, I'd personally switch to other, dedicated tools. On top of that, despite Blender's comprehensive animation features, the reliance on external addons for a competitive edge can be limiting. The learning curve is expected given the software's robustness, but the vast community support aids the learning process.
A Powerful and Versatile 3D Creation Tool - Blender Review
Opmerkingen: Work on changing the education system
Pluspunten:
I like the Most is Geometry nodes the best
Minpunten:
Like least the render takes too long with a low pc
Blender should be paid for
Opmerkingen: Blender is without a doubt the best 3d rendering software. Being free just makes it more desirable.
Pluspunten:
The level of control it gives you is incredible. Yes, you have to put in the time to learn how to use it if you're a beginner but after that? There is no better software.
Minpunten:
It can be challenging and takes some time to learn for beginners, and the rendering time can be a nightmare.
The versatile and powerful animation software you need.
Opmerkingen: Blender is a super powerful software that I've used solely for two purposes: video editing, audio editing, and some animations.
Pluspunten:
What I really like are the two unique features I use in Blender: animation, especially character creation, object animation, and particle animation. I also love the rendering capabilities of Blender, as it allows you to generate realistic renders with advanced lighting effects.
Minpunten:
What I like the least is perhaps the scripting that Blender offers: scripts and plugins to automate tasks. It's actually a good initiative, but I don't use it much.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Blender IS the New Standard
Opmerkingen: Learning and using blender over the past several years has really been a game changer for me. In-Engine modeling tools cut it for quick blockouts, but further than that it's important to use a software that has dedicated tools and interface for 3D modeling. Blender is the obvious option in 2022 and going forward do to the sheer amount of documentation, the fantastic community, the available tools, and how quickly new features and improvements are able to be made onto the platform. Although AAA studios are slow to adopt Blender into their pipelines, it is crucial for new studios, rather indie, AA, or AAA to adopt Blender into their pipelines over similar software.
Pluspunten:
One of the major benefits of the software being open source is the quick and relatively easy ability for community members to create custom plugins and addons. This functionality allows the developers at the Blender Foundation to focus more on core features rather than specific edge use cases (however common) that are more easily resolved and tested by the Blender community instead. Ultimately this means MUCH faster development and improved tools than any other 3D software can do. In the last 3-4 years I have used Blender I have seen it come from a rather mundane and average 3D software to easily outpacing some of the 3D giants in many respects. Very few instances does using another 3D software make sense over Blender.
Minpunten:
There are still some performance issues with sculpting that I'd love to see improvements in the future. For instance, I have an i7 4790 CPU, 24 gigs of DDR3 RAM, a 4 TB SSD, and a GTX 1070 8gbs VRAM GPU and more than 3-5 million triangles in sculpting mode either slows my computer down to a crawl OR crashes blender outright. However, using a software like Zbrush I can easily sculpt at 20-30 million triangles before I have any sort of lag or crash. That performance difference is quite major and is one of the only places where I prefer to use another software.

Best free software for 3D needs but with some bugs
Opmerkingen:
Blender has helped us save up a lot of money despite the bugs and problems related to finding up to date docs. It's a great open source software that is backed up by huge companies and it's used by a lot of people, especially low budget o indie.
While paid products are more stable and consistent, a bit easier to use, Blender as a free alternative is really the best thing out there.
Pluspunten:
The developers of Blender are a godsend. This software has been around for several years and it's being developed now more than ever. It's an open source program that's backed by huge names from the gaming and IT industry such as: nVidia, AMD, Intel, Unity, Unreal Engine, etc. It has all the tools a game developer would ever need (some have certain issues however and other tools are faster than Blender's) and with the scripting that can be done you can even make games directly into Blender. Apart from being a great 3D modeling too it also supports advanced animations so complex movies can be made. Being so widely used the community is quite big and there are a lot of plugins for certain tasks. Same with the software importing the assets made in Blender: there are specific plugins that are meant to fix some issues Blender has.
Minpunten:
One of the biggest issues when working with Blender is the numerous amount of bugs present. Compared to paid products, Blender has .... a lot! And sadly a lot of them don't get fixed fast. Another issue is that they update the software, but can never settle on something that will last for more than a few versions so watching tutorials always ends up with me having to google where to find whatever button was pressed because the tutorial shows something I cannot find. The export is also slightly broken as there are certain steps to be taken in order for the model to be properly exported to game engines.
Blender: 3D Modeling and Animation Resource
Opmerkingen: I am an avid user of Blender. I have utilized this program to create 3D animations for clients and to craft animated characters for game design projects. Since 2013 I have used this program for all of my 3D modeling needs.
Pluspunten:
Blender is a program with a library of tools to engage in several fields of 3D modeling. It allows users to create basic models from scratch utilizing vertices, faces and edges. If users want to start with a foundation they can use existing shapes such as cubes, spheres and cylinders. Each shape is malleable allowing for the adjustment of vertex count, edge count and dimensions and orientation. Users can also create 3D animations. Through versatile tools users can create simple motions or complex cinematic moments that feature fully rigged humanoid characters. Additionally Blender allows users to manipulate the topology of their models. Through the use of various brushes available, users can generate textures and add additional form and shape to their models. Blender can generate file formats compatible with other programs including .OBJ and .FBX.
Minpunten:
The interface is difficult at the beginning to navigate. Blender however relies on several hot keys so it becomes easier to use with a few key strokes. The program is easily customizable and their are several tutorials available to assist in learning. An additional issue I encountered was that textures sometimes did not appear on my project. I was able to fix this issue by reverting back to an old save.
The amazing free 3d suite
Opmerkingen: As any 3d package, Blender has a learning curve, but depending on your needs and interests, you can learn and use it for architectural visualization, video processing with motion and camera tracking, creating models for different purposes (e.g. 3d printing), 2d and 3d animation, visual effects and others. I've used it to create 3d models, to make short animations, to add visual effects to videos, among others. Overall an excellent package that is free to use and is actively developed (and a happy user like me is likely to make the occasional donation).
Pluspunten:
Blender is an extremely versatile package that offers all the functionality for 3d and 2d animation, 3d modelling, video production and more. It's a giant in the open source world, a world which doesn't always deliver quality. The funding and development model and the engagement of the community ensure steady development that integrates all the latest technologies in the world of computer graphics. It's become a serious competitor to professional (and expensive) packages such as Maya, 3dsMax, Houdini etc., offering in one package a wider range of tools than many of the commercial solutions. It's also very fast and (relatively) lightweight, runs on all major platforms including Linux, and - last but not least - is completely free. Free of charge, and free to distribute and modify.
Minpunten:
Although the software is constantly and dynamically improving, there are a few usability issues and some users, especially new ones, may find some things counter-intuitive. This has improved greatly with the current 2.80 milestone edition, but there are still some quirks that require getting used to and don't always make for a 100% smooth experience.

Brand new look
Opmerkingen: In 2019 Blender changed a lot, making the software easy to manage. UI became simpler and more intuitive and the general design changes made it so much more viable as a professional 3D program. I have used it over the years for small projects, although they always took quite long, as the learning curve was extremely steep and for each small project there had to be hours of research. Coming back after the new version was released, I have reached my goals quite easily, effectively reducing time spent on each project.
Pluspunten:
Blender's UI is clean, elegant and intuitive. Its features are on par with those of professional 3D suites, which makes it a free alternative to industry's most known programs. The performance is quite good, considering I've been using it on a low-end PC and besides some issues with particle system, there's no considerable lag or stuttering. Plugins, extensions and user-created content makes it easy to customize and prepare for any 3D work and environment.
Minpunten:
As the new version changed the software, the available guides and tutorials are mostly outdated, making it a bit harder to find a good learning source, as the changes were so drastic that simple commands or keybinds no longer work. Due to that some problems require reaching out to the community, which may not respond within the time constraints a professional may have.

Blender the future of advanced 2d Animation
Opmerkingen:
Nothing but love and great admiration for this software and the people behind making it possible.
I started in ads trying to make some money and build a reputation in animation,
working in Congo/africa it was nearly impossible to afford professional softwares like autodesk Maya and 3ds Max , but blender made it possible to do professional modeling, rigging and animation for free and it changed a lot of things for me.
Without blender i don't think i would have made it this far ; understanding 3d as an autodidact opened so many universes of my imagination and compagnies' doors too.
Now am a Art director, director and consultant animator and work for more than 12 companies at the same time, going from one city to another almost every week...all thanks to Blender. i don't even have time to make demoreels anymore 😊😊😊
Pluspunten:
Wow, how can i say it! This software is Splendiferous! Am a user of blender since i first stumbled on 3d animation and that's about 9 or 10 years from now. blender is free and has everything built in. throughout the years the software keeps pushing boundaries and making improvements in all types of industries: Game, animation, movie or Vfx. The improvement of Grease Pencil Object, my favorite tool, allows you to draw in the 3D space so you can create advanced 2D animation into a 3D software. it can be used to make traditional 2D animation, motion graphics , cut-out animation and even as storyboard tool. And that's just one tool; the renderer is amazing too, the view port is smoother and faster in the latest's versions, i could go on and on but the best way to experience blender's features is if you give it a try.
Minpunten:
I think Blender grows every month so i wouldn't put any cons, besides it is open GL and completely designed based on users needs, so no cons for me.
Expansive Functionality, Great Interface, and FREE
Opmerkingen: Working with Blender has been amazing. As part of in an in-house design team, I wanted a way to innovate and learn something new, so I started small with things that could be worked into our advertising like rolling dice, a spinning football, bowling ball/pins collisions, and scale models to learn the system. Later, we purchased pre-made car models and then textured, customized, and animated them to advertise specific vehicle giveaways. It's really wonderful to have a program you can build and expand upon independently without formal training or a huge initial investment.
Pluspunten:
As a graphic designer who dabbles in 3D, I much prefer the interface of Blender compared with Maya or Cinema 4D. Navigation is intuitive, and while the learning curve is naturally steep for any program of this caliber, the shortcut system made a lot of sense to me from the beginning. I also really loved using nodes in Cycles render to change the texture and lighting of various objects. Really lovely, subtle results.
Minpunten:
Sometimes it was tricky to know exactly how big something was, or how things were attached, but I would chalk that up to user error, similar to being an amateur in Photoshop and just not knowing where to look for a function or how to organize your layers logically.

For all your 3D Animations Needs, Plus its Free!
Opmerkingen: For a professional free software for 3D designing that has all the features you can possibly need, Blender is the only option. No other product comes close.
Pluspunten:
Okay, so if you are into graphics design, you must have heard of Blender already. - Its completely free, open source. Who doesn't love that? - Its professionally made will all options that you can find in all other software. - The software is lighter than other similar offerings, so can be used on a wide range of machines. - There is a portable version that works perfectly. - Import and Export options are compatible with other 3D and 2D software. - High quality texture and materials support. - The Cycles engine was an upgrade and the Eevee engine is a god give gift. Its perfect,
Minpunten:
- It has a steep learning curve. It is difficult to learn for beginners. Cinema 4D and Maya were easier to learn. - The interface may get confuse as it has a lot of options. - The old Blender Engine is slow and inefficient. - The shortcut keys are very different than other software. Prepare to re learn and make mistakes. - The export options can be better. - GPU+CPU rendering has along way to go to become perfect.
blender the best 3d creation software
Pluspunten:
Blender is a very versatile and free 3D software that I particularly like. It offers many advantages, including a customizable user interface and a large community of users who share tutorials and resources online. The software allows for modeling, animation, rendering and special effects for projects of various sizes and styles. The animation tools are particularly powerful and allow you to create complex animations with relative ease. In addition, Blender is available for Windows, Mac and Linux, making it accessible to a wide audience.
Minpunten:
I find the learning curve for Blender to be quite steep, especially for beginners in 3D, as the software is quite complex and offers many features. Also, the rendering process can be quite time consuming, especially when working with complex scenes or with advanced textures and lighting. Finally, it is not as widely used in the industry as some other 3D software, which can be a disadvantage if you want to work with clients or studios that use different software.
The only and only best open source software for 3d purpose
Opmerkingen: Super cool and awesome. I would strongly recommend this to everyone and even if you are using any other proprietary software then still give blender a chant. It deserves it !!!
Pluspunten:
1.) It is open source (the best thing which I love about it) 2.) It is free hence entry barrier is negligible for newbies 3.) It is increasingly becoming powerful with every new update:- the recent one was a boon to 2d part 4.) Performance is getting better with every new update 5.) It is gaining attention of big parties like top game and movies studios 6.) It is heavily supported by its users 7.) Future is super super bright and difference between blender and other rivals is reducing with every new update God bless blender
Minpunten:
If I would had written this review few months back, in the con section I would had ranted about its drawback for the 2d part. But now that issue is also solved. And even much better my other issues were also solved with the new update It would be better if keyboard shortcuts and UI was given a touch ( it would make whole process much better)
Blender opens doors to beginners and keep supporting advanced users
Pluspunten:
Blender offers a complete toolset for 3d modeling, rendering and animation. Even if some people do prefer other 3D programs for personal reasons, Blender offers a competitive engine for free. That's a huge encouragement to new students on 3d modeling and animation. The more I do with it, the more surprised I am that it has no cost.
Minpunten:
I use it to render and model furniture objects and scenes. According to my usage, I feel it still lacks assets to use in rendering scene compositions. It could have pre-configured materials as default inside shading options to help newer students on 3D rendering, maybe some tutorial on learning the node system. Also, the snapping vertices system doesn't work as smoothly as SketchUp or other 3d software when it comes to building architectural visualization.

Blender: Free To Use Yet Powerful
Opmerkingen:
Blender is a great software to be candid, this makes it a very powerful software to you. With my 2 years experience, I can say it’s worth trying out and I will definitely recommend it for anyone into 3D animation or Video editing as a profession, while I keep using it as well.
With the software, you’ll be tempted to learn new renderings and update your skills.
Pluspunten:
For a powerful software, Blender is Free to Download and Free to Use, which is amazing and surprising compare to other softwares. In past two years, I have learn to use Blender for 3D rendering, videos editing & creation. The software has a great user interface, with a lot of exciting features, Blender stand out among others. Lot of free video tutorials to help users to learn the features or work on a specific 3D rendering. I’m presently learning to create Video Game Animations and Blender is a great tool, even though this isn’t an easy task, but the software is very helpful and tutorials are right there to help.
Minpunten:
For a powerful software to work perfectly, you’ll need a powerful hardware to handle it. I started using Blender in 2014 with a low end PC, it was frustrating, the PC gets heated up quickly especially when rendering. After changing to a high end PC, I’m able to use Blender comfortably without worrying about overheating. For a beginner, this isn’t a very friendly software to use. I learnt most of the basic features using video tutorials and googling. The features are great but can be very confusing unless you are already familiar with them.
Blender is for your 3D modeling and video editing.
Opmerkingen: I use Blender for my teaching. My students love using Blender since it is very simple and easy to use. However, as mentioned, Blender crashes very often. Therefore, I always ask my students to save their Blender projects very often.
Pluspunten:
Blender helps you model 3D objects with all basic functions, i.e., translation, rotation, scaling. You can easily put textures and animations onto the 3D models. Blender also supports animation mode where you are able set up each animation frame and preview what your animation looks like. This is very helpful for your video editing. Blender also gives you the Scripting mode where you can code with Python to handle your 3D objects.
Minpunten:
Blender has so many versions. This causes a lot of issues when you save and load your .blend files with different Blender versions. Blender sometimes freezes and unexpectedly shuts down. Therefore, make sure that you save your Blender project more often.
Incredible power comes with great compexity
Opmerkingen: Blender allows you to do things you could only otherwise do with very expensive applications. It is surprisingly sophisticated for FOSS. Kind of like going from driving a Chevy to piloting a SpaceX rocket compared to most other software.
Pluspunten:
If you're looking for a program to start your journey designing in 3D, Blender is an amazing, amazing tool. There almost nothing you can't do with it. It plays well with a broad range of other Open Source software say, for example QGIS or Unreal Engine. It makes it possible to do virtual sculpture with every kind of digital tool you can imagine and, oh yeah, it's a decent video editor as well.
Minpunten:
The steep learning curve. You're going to want to get some help here by at least signing up for an online course. The tool box is huge and tool functionality seems a bit idiosyncratic. There also seem to be as fair number of layout changes with each new version - all for the good, ultimately - but requiring constant learning as well. I sometimes think it is best used for learning and experimentation and not so much for the average person's day-to-day production.
Benefits and struggles of blender
Pluspunten:
Blender allows you to choose the approach to your process by choosing to work from vertices, edges and faces but also from edit mode, sculpt mode and modifyers. This means blender has one of the most varied modelling methods and virtually no limitations to what you can model. It is completely free, easy to install and there are countless tutorials (both from blender itself and the community). A feature that stands out is the Grease pencil, allowing you to create 2.5 D drawings and animations, and even giving the drawing different materials, expanding the possibilities of your creation
Minpunten:
Learning how to use blender (specially modifyers and creating custom materials) is not beginner friendly. fortunately, there are countless tutorials online so if you have dedication, you can learn how to master this software
