Quicken is the Grand-Daddy of Personal Finance Tools, I can't Quit It.

Opmerkingen: I've used Quicken for such a long time, It would be difficult to switch to an alternative. I general it works for me, and I see no evidence which indicates I should check into alternatives.

Pluspunten:

It is highly evolved for tracking personal expenditures, and the performance of personal investments.

Minpunten:

The smallest price point at which I can get it, is rather high. I wish it had more tailored pricing based upon the features you need.

Quicken is great for small businesses

Opmerkingen: I have been using quicken for years and its been easy and user friendly.

Pluspunten:

Easy to download transactions. Specialized report save fuction. Cloud sync to view on other devices.

Minpunten:

Every once in a while it auto catorgories something worong.

Poor Customer service

Opmerkingen: I have used Quicken for more than 10 years. In the past few years, the Quality of the updates has been poor and the price has gone up. Customer service has declined in Boise office. Guatemala service is better but still language problem. Do not start with Quicken Home and Business!
Letter to the current [sensitive content hidden] of Quicken
I have contacted Quicken, according to your records at least 6 times this year 2024. I have been a customer for at least a dozen years.
The problem was finally resolved today 3/11/2024. It was related to files that go back in time and or the size of the file. I cannot imagine it is the size nor the date, it just does not make sense to me. However today, thanks to a person in Guatemala it was resolved after approx 2 hrs.
I really am upset that after speaking with a person in Boise last week for almost 2 hrs (#10890242) I was told it was an issue with my computer. I believed him, because I had spoken with numerous to Quicken support on that issue and the renaming error issue.
I have spoken with [sensitive content hidden] at your Boise office and they have extended my subscription for 6 mos.That is the best they can do for me! [sensitive content hidden], did confirm when looking at the notes I was told by the agent. That it was a problem with my computer blocking and I should take it in and get it checked. I did take it in!
But going back to the issue of my time and not correct advice, I spent $175.00 to have my computer checked, I was told by your employee that was the issue. It was not, according to [sensitive content hidden], the correct procedure was to escalate the problem. That was not done according to the notes, case #10890242. If it would have been escalated, I would not have incurred the expense. I still would have 15 or 20 hours of my time.
I have to keep Quicken to run the rental properties I own. I need the data in case I am audited. So I would have to switch to another program or continue with Quicken. I would prefer to stay as switching would require substantial time and effort for a 74 year old person.
My time and for that part yours, on the support time is probably 15 hours or more. That does not include my hold time or the issue that I now have to add back all the passwords to the institutions and double check to make sure there are no issues.

If you do not think that is fair, then I will have no choice but to continue with Quicken. But I will let other users know of my difficulties when they choose companies like yourself.
I do hope this note will help you in the future, as far as training and obvious flaws in the computer program.
I have run many companies including a number of my own. It is not the money, it is my time! I also always wanted feedback from my customers to help me improve my companies and our services. I am sure you also want that for your many companies.

Pluspunten:

Was easy now difficult especially after updates

Minpunten:

The value has gone out the window, I think this happened when they were bought

Good Value for home use

Opmerkingen: Overall it was a good experience for the ease of inputting information and the price. It just did not do everything that I needed it to.

Pluspunten:

The value for the price. Compared to other accounting software - it is much more cost effective.

Minpunten:

For a small business it was missing some key components like payroll. Only have 1 employee but payroll is a must.

Quicken. Easy to use

Opmerkingen: It’s good very easy to use no real problems

Pluspunten:

It is extremely easy to use and has very simple and understandable reports

It is only single entry accounting so it is limited

Quicken Review

Opmerkingen: Overall I think leveraging quicken for my accounting purposes relieves a lot of the work between myself and my bookkeeper.

Pluspunten:

The features and functionality of Quicken meet many of my business. The reporting is simple and easy to apply and access. I think managing multiple businesses is good with this system. It has more of a scaleable feature.

Minpunten:

there are times when making entries or correcting entries that I think the steps could be simplified. I also think creating custom reports could be easier in terms of formatting them report and customzing to logo and branding

Worst Software Package I know - DON'T BUY IT!

Opmerkingen: This is the worst software and, as far as I can tell, none of their staff are interested in helping, nor are they anything other than simpletons without knowledge of their product. STAY AWAY.

Pluspunten:

relatively inexpensive as compared to other options.

Minpunten:

DOES NOT WORK. Even when I did all it asked and upgraded - it is not able to use multiple files I provide.

Quicken review

Opmerkingen: It meets most of my needs, but it seems that some features don't function.

Pluspunten:

It compared to Mint in function. And I was able to import my data.

Minpunten:

The user interface is less appealing than Mint.

Quicken makes tax time a breeze

Opmerkingen: Overall, I love Quicken! It has made my life so much easier and makes it really easy to do my quarterly taxes and income tax.

Pluspunten:

Quicken allows me to track my income, expenses and net worth of my small business. This is great as tax time is no longer a dreaded event.

Minpunten:

Only con is that it is not mobile friendly. I would like to be able to just take a picture of a receipt on my phone and it upload into Quicken automatically.

Does everything it's supposed to and does it well.

Opmerkingen: We have over 40k clients that use a purse acct. for bookings with us, that's a lot to keep track of. Quicken makes that as easy as it possibly can be.

Pluspunten:

I love how user friendly it is, been using it at home for years, great at the office now too!!

Minpunten:

Nothing really, can't complain.it suits all our needs.

Quicken is a Great Program!

Opmerkingen: Placed it on 2 units at first to try it out in our office and loved it so much we decided to switch everyone to it instead. Been using it daily for almost 3 years now. It's an excellent program!

Pluspunten:

It's very easy to self learn this program. It is equally as easy to teach to others too because it's simple to understand

Minpunten:

I have no complaints. It was easy to set up, it was easy to convert info from the prior program we were using. It was easy to learn and easy to teach to others. 10 out of 10 far as I'm concerned!

best management app

Opmerkingen: great experience sucks you have to paid every year but they do update a lot more

that i can balance my checkbook and also not make a mistake

Web-based Quicken is my favorite feature for on the go

Pluspunten:

Web-based allows me to work off an iPad or iPhone instead of carrying my laptop around when I am on the road or abroad on vacation.

Minpunten:

There is little that I dislike about it.

Quicken is OK but not the end-all solution

Opmerkingen: Quicken keeps me organized for personal use but there are always additional steps when it comes to business. I use it for two small businesses, both of which require sending the transactions and reports from Quicken to external accountants. This program is best for individual use, and managing your own transactions unrelated to owning any business.

Pluspunten:

I like the ability to organize and ease of us. I like the connectivity to other websites, accessibility from many platforms, and simply layout. Quicken is ideal for transaction management.

Minpunten:

Quicken provides information but generating taxes, tracking capital equipment, really anything beyond the bare bones - is another investment in different software or an accountant.

Expensive

Opmerkingen: I have been using Quicken since the DOS days. I never had any problems until the new owners took over. The program has been very glitchy ever since. Since this is the only program out there that is not overkill for my small church, I am forced to use it.

Pluspunten:

The financial reports I can generate is very flexible.

Minpunten:

The program is becoming very expensive to use. There are glitches with some of the updates which messes up the check register. Many problems with connecting with my Wells Fargo accounts.

Good and Worth the Price

Opmerkingen: We’ve used Quicken for six years and have been happy.

Ease of use year after year makes the long term utility of this software amazing

Expensive. The recent price hikes have made us reconsider.

Not robust enough for my needs

Opmerkingen: It was good to start but did not meet my needs long term.

Pluspunten:

It was a great product when I first started my business as it was simple and cost effective. It was a great way to level up from just using spreadsheets for a small business owner.

Minpunten:

As my business grew, I needed a lot more control over tracking the details of billing, and for paying vendors and contractors. My accountant insisted that I move over to Quickbooks because I had a lot of moving pieces and I needed to keep everything running smoothly.

Powerful accounting software

Pluspunten:

It is a powerful accounting tool that can provide a visual overview of different accounts.

Minpunten:

We need to reconcile frequently; otherwise, we will make mistakes easily.

Solid for Small Business

Pluspunten:

Quicken is widley used, easily syncing to major banks and platforms. Big company with broad support.

Minpunten:

Some of the syncing and getring reports can be slightly confusing.

Quicken is Helpful

Opmerkingen: Overall I would recommend Quicken because i it on my phone and I use it from my desktop as well.

Pluspunten:

I like that it keeps me on track with all of my accounting for my business. It’s an easy way to bill my customers and keep up with orders. I love the receipt feature.

Minpunten:

I’m not very “techy” but Quicken was easy to install. I had to watch a. Few tutorials before I understood how to use it.

Finance management

Pluspunten:

It helps a lot with my budgeting in my monthly expenses

Minpunten:

Other budget assistance and financial management are not effective

Quicken- name says it all!

Pluspunten:

Quicken makes it easy and quick to compare billing options

Wish there was a free version or extended trial

Business & Rental Mgmt

Pluspunten:

It keeps up with my rental expenses as well as my business

Minpunten:

It takes a while to figure out but customer service is helpful

Quicken Home & Business 2022 Review

Opmerkingen: We use this software for the accounting of my wife's small business and financial reporting needs for select government programs. This is the best accounting software for a small business owner/sole proprietor in the market today. We have been using this program for nearly ten years.

Pluspunten:

I like the updated tax tables and current regulatory database for up-to-date tax prep tax schedules and deductions. It is easy to input transactions, categorize them, and get a running balance with ease.

Minpunten:

My least favorite thing about this software is that it now requires a subscription instead of buying the program for a set price.
