All in one Fleet management System

Pluspunten:

Right from the start i found this software easy to use, easy to integrate and easy to maintain. It takes alot of the hassle out of Fleet management for the managers as well as the drivers. With the recent addition of the Maintenance section, we've been able to keep better track of upcoming services and certifications resulting in less down time for the fleet.

Minpunten:

Customization of the reports would be a benefit as well as being able to assign annual inspection dates, for CVIP or other certifications, to vehicles instead of relying on the reminders section. having it auto populate in the maintenance section when due.

Old School to new ways....

Opmerkingen: We began our experience when Whip Around was new to the US market. Since then we have rolled along with the growth in the company. That includes switching account managers multiple times in the last year. During our first 1.5 yrs with Whip Around we had a really solid and knowledgeable go-to person who I assume knew the program inside and out due to being a part of the early days. Account managers now don't seem to have the same passion or commitment to the product as the original person we worked with. The biggest shift for me personally as a user has been feeling like we lost a personalized touch and that my input had value to the future look of updates.

Pluspunten:

For us, the software's primary goal was for our employees to perform daily inspections for DOT compliance and the internal awareness of vehicle/equipment concerns or defects.

Minpunten:

As an early user, we have had to adapt to many updates, and some of those caused hiccups in our console that we manually updated once discovered. We would the app to be more useful to our shop mechanics, rather than them having to use a desktop computer for some things (out of service/back in service is a good example of that wish).

Pluspunten:

Ease of use, mobile use, cost, reporting.

Minpunten:

Inventory tracking and the ability to perform a detailed equipment check that is connected to a piece of equipment that is assigned to a specific vehicle and have that check stay with the piece of equipment when it moves to other vehicles.

What I wish it had

Opmerkingen: Its great for pretrips but other than that trying to use anything else I have struggled with bugs or just a release of the feature to early to where it really needed more thought and development. I hope to see some corrections of the current features to make it more used friendly on all platforms.

Pluspunten:

The inspections tab works great its user friendly on both driver and mechanic side and I don't have any issues there.

Minpunten:

1) I wish you could make assets available to more than one group. I want to separate my mechanics and drivers since they have separate forms but I would then have to have 2 of every asset making me pay double. 2) I wish you could achieve vehicles. We have had trucks get totaled and we have to keep pretrips for records but we don't need to keep paying for the asset to be active when we don't have it any more. 3) I wish the phone app was more comparable to the computer. There is so much you cant get to or navigate on the phone and it makes it hard when you out in the shop trying to look through inspections and work orders of the truck you are trying to repair. The app overall is just not user friendly for mechanics which makes it hard to teach them to use it. 4) This would be a great tool for mechanic shops if you found a way to make a customer asset for vehicles not owned by the company.

Too Expensive. We gone.

It was easy on the layout. Drivers found the prestarts great.

Minpunten:

Price. We run combinations, so it turned out too expensive to use and enter all the equipment. We have over 150+ assets. We found another company here in Australia (MEX) that was so much cheaper for us. We had a phone call from Whip Around and I explained the situation to her, and she asked higher above for better price for us. But the horse already bolted and we were signed up with MEX.

The Best Vehicle Inspection App (Second To None)

Opmerkingen: Whip Around is the best option for vehicle inspections and maintenance we've come across. The process is streamlined and easy to use. The ability to create driver accounts to track inspections helps hold employee's accountable for the company vehicles they operate.I have found the fine folks at Whip Around are open to suggestions in hopes of serving their customer base better by always seeking to improve their services, and that's something I respect a great deal. Thank you!

Pluspunten:

I absolutely love every aspect of this app. I was able to customize the app to our needs just by playing around with some of the features on my own. After meeting with [SENSITIVE CONTENT], I felt all our questions or answered. Any feature of the app I didn't know about was shared with me thanks to [SENSITIVE CONTENT]'s extensive knowledge. Customer service is key with any business, and Whip Around knocks it out of the park with their accessibility to speak someone If there are questions in need of answering.

Minpunten:

• Don't know if it's possible, but it would be amazing to have a Pre-existing Damage Section for the Assets. Some of the vehicles we have in our fleet are pre-owned, and they come with small scrapes, scratches, and minor dents•The ability to copy individual cards to other forms. I found when we have a vehicle out service, and we have to swap supplies to other vehicles, being able to copy a card with the specific information to another form would be useful.•The ability to video record during an inspection of our patrol vehicle lights would be fantastic. I heard this is something that should be available at the end of this year.

Easy to adjust items that are needed. Can easily setup new forms or adjust previous ones.

Location of items seems to be out of place for what I would expect them to be.

Logistics usage.

Opmerkingen: Overall WhipAround is a huge improvement to some of the more archaic methods of fleet management. The interface is a healthy design, user friendly, and excellent at navigating you where you want to be. The product itself offers a vast amount of tools and resources available to you at different levels.

Pluspunten:

I enjoy the ease of general fleet management. Helps us detect issues that could otherwise go unnoticed.

Minpunten:

I don't have much to say about cons, it's more about the usage we personally get out of the product vs the capacity it could provide other companies that operate differently.

Where have you been all our life WhipAround?

Opmerkingen: I think much of this is answered above but I'll try to comment simply here with some bullet points.
-improved time management for our mechanics to the tune of 20%
-our fleet has stayed moving more regularly due to a streamlined means of communications and necessary repairs. We've gone from being primarily reactive to primarily proactive. In 1 half of our company we've seen an 80% reduction in rental costs and I attribute some of this to the introduction of WhipAround to our fleet of heavy equipment.
-We have improved accountability from our driver's. We can now see who is and who isn't following our policies and procedures on a daily basis and take corrective action
-In the past we operated off of homegrown spreadsheets and files to hold information about our fleet. Now we are able to have 1 spot to store vehicle/equipment info, photos, reports, faults, repairs, etc. So simple!
-Overall, I have and will continue to suggest WhipAround to anyone I associate with as I firmly believe in their product and the support from their team. We at Belknap Landscape Co. honestly couldn't be happier with our relationship

#1 - customer service and implementation of the software into our organization was amazing. #2 - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is number 1 in customer service and attention to our needs and product development thoughts. #3 - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] took time to fly out to our team to help onboard our drivers into the software and provide a personal approach to the training #4 - the software is SOOO simple to use yet incredibly powerful and valuable in terms of results #5 - our drivers and mechanics now communicate totally differently than they use to in the past. Everything is streamlined and documented #6 - speaking of documentation...gone are the days of carbon copy books and tracking down hand written forms. Our organization has 4 facilities and to transfer information in a time-effective manner was everything but successful. With WhipAround the right people in our company get the information they need instantaneously allowing us to keep the right documents in the right place for legal purposes, allowing our mechanics to respond instantly to the needs of our fleet to keep them going and to effectively schedule the necessary repairs we need to run a profitable business. Everyone in the process of our fleet is accountable to their specific role when using WhipAround. Finally, the folks at WhipAround are all about product development and always open to suggestion/improvement of what they provide for a service which is a huge value add proposition in my book.

Minpunten:

It costs .25 cents more per month per vehicle than the carbon copy book that we used in the past. Just kidding...that's all I've got. We thoroughly enjoy the business relationship we have with the WhipAround team!

Amazing tool for remotely managing fleet and driver staff

Opmerkingen: Overall, Whip-Around is a great product and a very effective tool.

Pluspunten:

I am part of a team that manages over 70 drivers and a fleet of 33 vehicles in 16 states. This software has been the perfect solution to remotely manage pre and post trip reports, vehicle maintenance, and driver compliance. It’s very simple to implement with drivers due in large part to not require special or expensive equipment - most of our drivers use the free app on their own smartphones. We also use inexpensive Samsung tablets which we leave on the vehicles (one per vehicle). Other great features are the document management for fleet and drivers, mechanic notifications and updates, and the ease of generating reports and summaries.

Minpunten:

The only thing I would like to see improve is the driver communication tools. Currently, there is no feature in place that notifies drivers of the status of faults they reported. There is a feature to leave comments on a fault report, but drivers are not notified of those comments. Also, there is a feature to alert drivers if they miss a report or to send them reminders, however, it only sends these notifications via the app for drivers, so they would have to be logged in to see it. Sending text messages directly to the drivers via their personal mobile phones would be much more effective.

Inspections & Maintenance

Opmerkingen: I have loved using Whip Around. Since we have started using it, it has automated our maintenance program so when a service is due, it automatically creates a work order and sends i to our mechanic. One of the other best parts is the customer service. They have ALWAYS been prompt and helpful.

Pluspunten:

We do all our vehicle inspections with this software. I like making sure that inspections are done by the drivers by forcing them to take pictures of all 4 sides of the vehicle. It also helps if we find damage to be able to go back and find when it appeared and have proof.

Minpunten:

I am still working on figuring out the maintenance side of it. There have been several improvements. The one issue is that a drivers comments do not appear on a work order. When you turn a defect to a work order, it only shows the category. For example, lights, when the driver fails it and says right headlight out, it only shows on the work order as a light failure.

Fantastic System - Easy to Use - Made us Compliant

Opmerkingen: The CSR's at Whip Around are amazing to work with - they check in regularly to make sure everything is okay, they provided and in-person training for free, and always answer questions in a timely manner. They have a chat feature and someone always replies within minutes!

Pluspunten:

This software is very easy to use, as it can be used on a cell phone, tablet, etc. Our Service Technicians picked up on it very quickly, and it encouraged them to do all pre and post-trip inspections in a timely manner, which helped with our DOT compliance.

Minpunten:

There is nothing we don't like about this software. There are even features we don't currently use, but it has so much potential .... I can't say enough about how this software has helped our Service Managers manage inspections, repair, etc.!

Overall a great software

Creating Faults to track repairs and being able to assign to mechanic to be signed off on once repaired.

Minpunten:

I would like to see some user/driver based forms. ie: Payroll Entry, Time Off Requests, Parts Requests, etc.

A Key to Success for our Small Business.

Opmerkingen: This product has revolutionized our business in terms of safety, policy and compliance to local, state and federal laws and regulations. It's so accessible and easy to use, that all of my drivers can get a handle on it after their first use and the admin dashboard that I use gives me all the tools I need to monitor and track compliance, maintenance and inspections.

Pluspunten:

The customization and ease of use is fantastic and means we can continue to use this platform no matter how big we grow. Customer Service is top notch and features are always being added. You can tell they truly care about their product.

Minpunten:

Very few complaints and only one worth mentioning. The integration options do not include the GPS tracking platform we currently use, which prevents WA from being "all-in-one" for us. I suspect that will change in time as more options are added.

Reminders Function

Opmerkingen: Really like the program, keep up the great work!

Pluspunten:

Overall, the program is great. From a fleet management pov the ability to see the inspection reports, maintenance due and ability to assign work orders for repairs has vastly improved our fleet readiness. The ability to set up reminders for various things like license or medical certification expiration for drivers is a nice feature when they are away from the office.

Minpunten:

I wish there was a way to send drivers a text in the reminders section along with the notification through the app. I can send a text and notification for missed inspection through the exception report tab for missed pre-trips but not for reminders. I have had 2 drivers miss seeing the reminder notification from within the app. Adding the text feature to reminders would help provide another way to ensure they don't miss the reminder notification.

Great Product!

Opmerkingen: This software makes it extremely simple for me to monitor and manage my crews and their fleet on a daily basis. Because I am in the office, I am not on the front line with them daily, but with the help of this software it is like I am , in fact, out there with them because I know as soon as something is wrong. Or right for that matter! They submit to me daily an inspection of their vehicles giving me the piece of mind knowing that they are out there working and traveling safely!

Pluspunten:

The ability for me to know that my vehicles are maintained and in good condition on a daily basis, without me having to be out there inspecting them myself is great!

Minpunten:

At this time there is no issue I have with Whip around and think that they development team is doing an exceptional job!

Opmerkingen: its a good system to work with . just as you work with it more you where some improvements can made . and tweeks to eleminate the repetetion .

the inspection if used properly are very helpful , the manitenance program is very good. .

Minpunten:

need more admin and supervisor training on how to properly use the product so all departments benefit . drivers need more training on conducting inspection and what is safety and what is not . drivers need to be accountable more. on thing i would love to see . if a driver fails a unit on a pre or post trip . it should automatically go to out of service status . and noe should be able to conduct a inspection until repairsare made and signed off by mechanic and place back in service .

area that could use work is if a defect is minor that is marked in progress , that an operator change that repeats the same defect would not pop up again . Such as scratch in paint or any minor cosmetic damage

Easy to use, much better than paper, the dashboard is user-friendly, most importantly the system allows you to customize your forms giving you the data you want and eliminating the data you don't need, excellent program

My only issue with the software was my initial contact with the salesperson, he told me about a special offer that was much less expensive than the actual program cost, when I signed up for the program they knew who this person was and were upset that he made this offer, they were also unwilling to grant it to me. This was very frustrating but I like the program so much I signed up anyway

Second Time User and Works Just as Well!

Whip Around is simple and powerful. I'm a small owner/operator and this is a great tool for keeping track of mileage, as well as details that DOT might want to see. I implemented this for a previous employer and have continued to use and enjoy it as a owner/operator. Thanks rep and crew!

Occasionally the software hangs, but I find this is often the mobile device and not the software itself.
