LEAP is excellent for automating documents so that you don't have to waste time typing in generic information that is in all your documents and letters.
The integration was a pain, but it was on my side with Time Matters and my computer company. That was a me and not you thing.

Opmerkingen: Overall Leap is a mixed bag. While the features they do have are robust. Several of the features that are advertised are not operational for US clients.I'm also concerned, and that you are required to stay in a trial period for "6 months" from the date of installation. And in order to be "eligible" to cancel the contract, you also have to have every user "actively engaged" with the software for the entire six month period or you can't be released from the contract. I should have realized that any entity that requires a mandatory "trial" period has a reason. This is very disheartening, because I honestly think in 4 or 3 years the software may be usable.All in all I feel like LEAP CRM over promises but under performs, and the lengthy duration of the trial period strongly indicates that they are aware of the problems.
Pluspunten:
The contact and matter cards are the best part of the CRM.
Minpunten:
I disliked that several of the advertised features were not actually included once I already signed into a multi-year contract. Under the contract we were supposed to have immediate access to the client portal, it took over 6 weeks for the portal to be "setup." This resulted in a weird state of limbo regarding the transition. I also had concerns that they advertised a workflow procedure, but once we tried to use the workflow we were informed that it was only available in the UK, and no one could provide an estimate regarding when it would be available in the US. I'm also concerned that they require a third party to install the applications. Although the installation took about 15 minutes for each computer, the installer stayed active in one our firm computers for over 12 hours. When we asked about this potential data breach concern, no one followed up with us for weeks, then we were told "its ok nothing happened." That is a serious data breach issue.

Program ia good, renewal is shady
Opmerkingen: I liked the software up until I had to renew. I had a few glitched along the way no big deal. My contract was with LEAP and was taken out of my account monthly. When I went to renew my contract, I was never told that the renewal was being farmed out to a third party finance company. I found out when I got an alert on my credit, I looked into it and contacted them who told me that this was for my LEAP renewal. Now some financial company who I have no idea about has my banking information because LEAP gave it to them, I get numerous emails from them trying to sell me services. DO not get involved with this company. They are not transparent and to my belief are devious.

At first it was good, helps a lot but the renewal is the problem

I liked the software up until I had to renew. the renewal was inappropriate and possibly fraudulent.

A solid choice on case management and overall firm matter management system
Pluspunten:
It might take a bit getting used to and when first creating a matter it takes a lot of data input, but once you get through that it makes everything you do on that matter in the future faster and easier. The forms generated pull from those data points and helps to speed up the process of writing everyday documents and even some motions in trial practice. It is a good place to store large files are larger cases in the cloud so that they do not clutter your office. Whenever I have an issue, customer support reaches out in the same day and resolves my issues.
Minpunten:
I wish it handled a few more file extensions as some of our digital files would not upload correctly and we would need to reference such external media in addition to the use of LEAP to view everything on a certain matter.

Lots of Promises but Subpar execution
Opmerkingen: Productivity has increased in many areas, but is offset by the deficiencies in the billing, calendaring, and phone messages which create additional work for the staff. When we were having major billing issues, they did send somebody to the office to follow up and get feedback, some of which has since been implemented and had made the billing process much less cumbersome.
Pluspunten:
Document automation and forms for various areas of practice increase productivity.
Minpunten:
Billing system feels incomplete, calendaring in this program is basically non-existent as Outlook is where the calendar is stored. The calendaring has caused many issues and resulted in missed appointments. Additionally, there is no dedicated section for phone messages and makes it difficult for the attorneys to check messages without bouncing from file to file and reading the "comment" which contains a phone message.

The Good, Bad and Ugly
Pluspunten:
We had never had a cloud based management system before, so considering that we made this change within the year of the pandemic hitting, the value to that feature is priceless; you can print directly to LEAP; easy integration with outlook (even though Outlook itself is not my favorite); The staff tries to be very helpful, although they do not always follow up if they dont have any answers for you; Leap has a few versions of docs that we feel are improvements over what we were using; Billing features.
Minpunten:
We are in Massachusetts and cannot access E-File features with the courts through Leap; The system has lost address information and the capability to input it into many of our contact cards; Many document fields are inadequately set-up (maintain default names, refuse to accept checked boxes, skip sections); Invoices are confusing and do not specify the funds are received from retainers; invoices do not have a feature which specifies who has generated the billable hours (name of legal team member); does not show size of documents; not user friendly with copy/paste feature; only connects to one singular Quickbooks account (so you cannot interface with both operating and IOLTA accounts).

Law Connect Demonstration Follow Up

The meeting with Kudzai was really informative and the system has many advantages, which were well explained by Kudzai.
Minpunten:
They were just a few things we felt that the system was lacking with law connect: 1. The inability to send emails out of the law connect system and the fact that all documents would be in different places. So, only attachments to client's would be on law connect but the emails would be elsewhere. It would be useful if you could also send all things from one place on the law connect app so that it is easy for us and the clients. 2. Unable to open downloads on the law connect app, would have to be in leap.

Your "support" and I use that term loosely, is horrific. There is only one "consultant" who ever knows how to fix anything. Unless I get that guy, it's pretty much over. Consultants are obviously talking to 3 and 4 people at the same time they are "chatting" with me and it takes forever for them to respond. God forbid it has to go to a higher authority. It takes days to get anyone to call back.

Easy to use

The program is easy to use. It allows all of us to work from remote locations and still be able to work on the same client matter.
Minpunten:
The number of steps necessary to implement some of the features is frustrating. I feel that some of the steps are unnecessary and that there should be a simpler way. I also find it hard to find some of the answers to questions and find myself reaching out via email to the tech support team frequently.

Not a user friendly program and very hard to work on Leap documents.
Opmerkingen: I still find it hard that you can't just call technical support and have to make an appt. a couple of days out or wait all day for a return call.

the detailed cards for the plaintiff, defendant, opposing counsel, etc.

Opmerkingen: Although Leap is not perfect, in comparison to other case management systems it comes pretty close - so much easier to use and not over complicated.
Pluspunten:
Very intuitive, user friendly, layout is easy on the eye, entering information is not too repetitive, easy to find your way around when first time user.
Minpunten:
Accountancy side of things can be confusing when going from old case management system to Leap, the "financial summary" tab could do with being slightly clearer. Documents in Outlook cannot be saved directly onto a client card, they can only be saved in the matter. You cannot copy and paste or drag and drop into Leap.

Leap - excellent product and ease of use
Opmerkingen: Starting up with Leap and doing the change over was stressful, I would suggest that anyone who is changing to Leap would keep their old Case Management licence running for at least 3 months after the change over in case there is something that has been brought across incorrectly it just helps. When we started with Leap we did this and it worked out perfectly for us. Once we transferred over we got all the help and training we needed from Leap which was great and is on-going. Using Leap is very easy and we are planning on updating our training soon just to get to grips with the new options available in Leap. I have to say the support with Leap is brilliant, you can go on the Leap website/community page and put in your problem there and if there isn't a solution in that you can just email Leap support and they will be back to you, most times within the day but sometimes the next day but they are great at helping us.
Pluspunten:
When using the case management it is so easy to use from start to finish on a file, opening, setting up folders, using precedents, setting up cards for businesses and people. Also when posting funds received or disbursed is so easy and using it in conjunction with Xero for Office Accounts.
Minpunten:
The only negative I would say is that there is no option for a telephone message on a Client's file. I have been directed to use the New Comment tab but this isn't at all helpful for telephone messages, you fill them in and they "eventually" get to the person they are for, also the notifications come up for everyone in everyone's notification lists which is time wasting. In our business Telephone Messages are critical to receive immediately and if there was a proper tab for Telephone Messages on a Client's file which would flash up to the fee earner that would be better as they would immediately know about the call and also it would be recorded on the file

from an Accountants perspective

We were looking to change our legal software, i researched approx 10 suppliers & narrowed it down to 3. I then took these 3 to the Partners, we finally decided to go with Leap. they are a multinational company & after speaking to several of the people who gave testimonies on the Leap website we decided they were probably giving an honest evaluation of their experience with the Leap software.
One of the things i really liked about Leap from an Accountant's point of view is that they are a cloud based system which meant we could decommission our mainframe computers & close our i.t dept which had their own separate premises, so obviously the cost saving was enormous. Also Leap were cheaper than our previous software supplier & are paid monthly which helps with the cash flow situation.
Keith Park prior to fixed fees were a very big company & we wanted to transport 10 years of old data into Leap, so it was a massive amount of data, this went like a dream & the staff at Leap were very helpful in this process.
Finally i think another big advantage with Leap is that they don't pretend to have their own accounting system, our previous supplier did but it was useless!! Leap team up with Xero accounting software, this is another multinational company which is very popular, easy to use & costs only £28p.m

Pulled the trigger after 1.5 years of indecision. Well worth it.
Opmerkingen: The people I have worked with have been awesome. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is my favorite person this year. It has been stressful starting a firm from my father's old firm, to creating a web page that's going to put me over the edge to really using something I've wanted to use for years. LEAP can do more than I expected, which saves me time away from my kids and my family and keeping track of it all in one place. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] may be one of the most patient individuals I've worked with. It's put me at ease.
Pluspunten:
Creating matters, attaching documents and emails to the matter, keeping a string of notes is key, as opposed to pulling the file. I want to pull the file less by being more diligent in using the software. Will be nice to communicate and transfer date with the program. I think that will be key with future generations.
Minpunten:
The integration was a pain, but it was on my side with Time Matters and my computer company. That was a me and not you thing. When you create a matter and even when I chose the areas of law that I practice some of it was not there and we have to force the program by entering a type of law differently. For instance, it took us awhile to figure out how to enter Estate Administration which is the main thing I do. Most lawyers in PA and I suspect elsewhere use the Decedent's Name to identify and find the file. LEAP does not and you have to remember the name of the Executor for a search. If they don't have the same name, I think we had to do something a little different. For criminal matters there are some simple areas that aren't an option. It seems like some fields we don't need and some would be more helpful, if they were available. The one that comes to mind is the Sale of Real Estate.

Made our estate planning practice seamless
Opmerkingen: It is a steep learning curve, even for an office full of millenials. But it is COMPLETELY worth it. Having our entire firm run from LEAP and its Microsoft integrations has made the COVID work from home transition incredibly easy and, likely, at least semi-permanent!
Pluspunten:
Full integration with Microsoft Office. Our entire practice takes place via LEAP. Easy to search, easy to use once you know how. The ability to customize estate planning templates and the ease of creating documents once those are set up has completely transformed and streamlined our estate planning practice. Very responsive staff.
Minpunten:
There is some translation confusion from the UK/Australia to how US law practices work. It is certainly a big learning curve, and their Microsoft Excel integration with the court forms could use some work.

Great Case Management Product
Opmerkingen: Every member of staff can access any matter at any time and work can be done in real time. Each fee earner can keep tabs on their matters and with the integration of Outlook with Leap file reviews can be properly managed.
Pluspunten:
My firm moved over to Leap from another case management system in 2016 and since 2020 have become fully digitised. The general ease of use of Leap has made the transition very successful. The ability to quick view documents, correspondence etc. without having to open the item fully makes reviewing a matter a simplified affair.
Minpunten:
Changes to features one has grown accustomed to can be annonying eg. the firm used to enter criticial information in the Client Details tab so that anyone accessing the matter would immediately see what the current position was, however, recently if any information is entered into that tab then a default message comes up saying "Open for More Information" so that you have to then open it to access said information. This has been raised with the technical department but has not yet been resolved.

Leap is a good product but needs more tweaking

As with any new product, there have been challenges and an adjustment period. Most features are easy to use, but there are some that need perfecting. Entering time, entering clients and phone calls is fairly simple.
Minpunten:
The document preparation process is not as effortless as one would hope. The margins are often and issue, transferring data does not always seem intuitive and MS word often has to be repaired. The critical dates section could be improved by making it easier to enter personalized information for the matter. The calendar could be improved so that it is simpler to add appointments without using the MS Office calendar.

good product - decent support
Opmerkingen: Overall LEAP is a fantastic product and when lockdown happened we were able to continue to work uninterrupted.
Pluspunten:
We looked at a number of different Case management Systems before settling on LEAP. It is a great product . The mobile app version is fantastic which has the ability to drop documents and pictures on the go into files. the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was our initial contact provided us with training and guidance and he was great.
Minpunten:
The webchat is good so you can get instant contact with the helpdesk. More than often they can resolve it there and then. If they aren't able to solve it there and then sometimes at busy periods call back time can be a few hours. There is a particular issue re forwarding previous emails within LEAP which creates an error message. However LEAP are aware and are working on resolving it. Perhaps some more follow up training would be good.

Leap Review
Opmerkingen: The only reason I still have it is because i have a contract and it's a hassle to find another system and to all the start up again.
Pluspunten:
I don't like this software. There are always problems with its functionality. I get error messages constantly. I have to spend hours on the phone with tech support which makes me not call them and just struggle with the issues.
Minpunten:
There is constantly an error message popping up that something isn't working. It's annoying. YOu have to pay extra for added subscriptions like quickbooks and word which is a couple hundred more dollars that they don't tell you about when you sign up

Ease of use
Opmerkingen: I implemented using LEAP shortly before COVID19 began, which was lucky. Given that my staff worked from home, the ease of use really helped.
Pluspunten:
I liked that I was able to learn how to use various functions of LEAP in a short period of time. While I am still learning how to use all of its functions, it is not difficult.

A Legal system that gets better and better.
Opmerkingen: If you use the system correctly you will achieve efficiency, cost benefits and compliance.
Pluspunten:
The Leap platform is easy to use and form templates are customisable as are presidents. Accounting can be linked to most financial platforms, we use Xero which works well. Customer support is what is should be, responsive and easy to access. Online training guide and user forums solve most issues with minimal time and effort. The introduction of Customer Success Managers to provide personal support, who are accessible is excellent. If you use the system as designed, a CRM platform you will obtain true benefits in workflows and costs.
Minpunten:
Mobile access to Leap is good on Apple phones but has limited functionality on Android phones. This is a failing. Perversely Leap does not work well on Apple Macs but is excellent on Pc's? Other legal system providers do not appear to have this as an issue with their android aps development, android being the predominant and growing platform in the UK.
