Smooth operation!

Pluspunten:

Intergration is a quick process with great customer support.

Minpunten:

I had to use the help desk for sick/vacation/PTO. Most parts of Patriot Software are intuitive, and you can explore till you find them, except a PTO adjustment.

Opmerkingen: The big thing for me is real live US representatives. Patriot Accounting is top notch with that. The interface is also pretty simple and I feel confident that if I run into any issues (usually my fault) their live representatives will help me!

Pluspunten:

U.S. Based. Private company, US based support with very clear English. Amazing live support so I learn that way. I can afford it and I feel I get a very high quality service.

Minpunten:

Some items won’t transfer from my American Express statement and it is a bit confusing how to add/remove items. Journal is a bit confusing. But the live help is amazing and I learn more each time I call.

Patriot Accounting sofware

Opmerkingen: Thankfully I write less than 10 checks per month. Patriot double counts each one so it's a constant chore to keep my bank statement and Patriot to balance.

Pluspunten:

This is a very robust accounting solution.

Minpunten:

I wish I had paid more attention in college accounting. Unfortunately, ease of use is not a primary strength.

Easy to use!

Great software at a great price!

Opmerkingen: I love Patriot software. The price is amazing for all that you get with this software. I have had smooth sailing ever since I changed to Patriot.

Pluspunten:

I am a control freak, so I like to do simple debit and credit accounting so that I can control everything going into my books. Patriot is easy to use and doesn't have all the what I call "noise" that other accounting softwares have. Some programs have so much fluff added to them but all I want are the basics and Patriot gives me that. This makes it easy to use.

Minpunten:

There are a few things in invoicing and bill pay that I might change but they are minimal. Other than that I have no issues with this software.

Opmerkingen: My overall opinion of Patriot is favorable. There is nothing that is show stopper. Everything is workable. I find overall the software is easy to use and you don't need an accounting degree to use it.

Pluspunten:

It is easy to use. The A/R and customer invoicing work fairly well. Reports that are on the system work okay, but I wish there were more and some more flexibility. Customer service is great.

Minpunten:

Accounts Payable- There is no easy way to go into a vendor's file and see the entire payment information. You have to go to a billing report to see some info. There is plenty of room in the vendor payment heading to see each and every part of a vendor invoice number, dates account charged, date paid & check number. You cannot see all this now.

Owner/President

Opmerkingen: I found the software to be very easy to use from the start. I feel it is much better than the QuickBooks software I used previously. I also found the customer service people to be very helpful and the fact that they are Americans makes it easier on me (my hearing is not as good as it once was).

Pluspunten:

Ease of set up, ease of use, and when customer service is needed, they are always easy to understand and have been amazing.

Minpunten:

The problem with the emailing an invoice only from a Google browser. That is a minor inconvenience, but really the only inconvenience I have found so far with the software.

Opmerkingen: Very satisfied. I just love the cost, ease of use and bank syncing feature.

Bank syncing is my favorite feature followed by US customer support personnel and price

Minpunten:

It did take a bit of forms and time to set up, but once you get through the regulatory requirements, it was very easy.

Customer Satisfaction

Opmerkingen: You get what you pay for when choosing an inferior cost point.

They pick up the line when calling in to Customer Support.

Minpunten:

Accessing the training videos is a hassle on top of a hassle. It was not a simplified process. [sensitive content hidden] explained that you need to select "Help Info" at the top of your screen, then type in whatever it is you are searching for. When initially performing a specific search under "Help Info", this would bring up articles rather than training videos. In this regard, the site is not user friendly. Additionally, in speaking with Customer Support over time I became aware there is a lack of clarity and individual support. The default response to a majority of my calls made for specific support in using the product was "I do not have an answer for you; go to our website and perform a search under "Help Info" or play around with it; you're smart." Customers do not always have time to do so and receiving a rote response when calling for "support" is not helpful in any case. Patriot Software Staff must be trained specifically for this reason.

Harder to function in the program

Opmerkingen: I am not an accountant and I am not very techy so when I request help I was told multiple times that they can't help with that that I needed to talk to an accountant. Some I thought would be simply questions for someone that was in a tech support position.

Pluspunten:

I was really not impressed with anything about the program

Minpunten:

I do not like how the payroll software interacts with the banking reconciliation. It took me forever to align the checks for printing, finally figured out that the payroll checks aligned differently than the accounting checks

Patriot does great accounting.

This software has been helping our company do great with our accounting tasks. The entire accounting team loves how easily and efficiently it helps to get the work done.

Minpunten:

So far, we are happy with it in general.

Great Price. Not intuitive, but gets the job done

Opmerkingen: Patriot seems like a payroll company which later added accounting. The payroll module is so easy to use and they appear to have thought of everything. The accounting module is much more quirky and seems a bit haphazzard. But their people are friendly and accomodating, so hopefully, they will up their game on the accounting side. From a price standpoint, you can't beat them for an on-line program that can be shared among users (staff, bookkeeper, attorneys, etc).

Pluspunten:

We switched from QuickBooks and that process was fairly easy, along with great support from Patriot. That's the best part of the software - the people at Patriot. They are prompt, attentive, and seem genuinely interested in improving their product. A close second is the Payroll product. It is ridiculously easy to use and far less expensive the most other on-line payroll services.

Minpunten:

It is not intuitive. For example, if you just want to look at your general checkbook ledger, you cannot just click on an icon. You have to go to reports and then find the one that says "account balances." There are a number of things that make sense after you do them (voiding or deleting a check is a multistep process), but it's frustrating trying to find them. One of the biggest head scratchers is that printing a three-part check only prints on two parts of the check. That seems like a pretty basic item to fix, but it's still only two-parts.

Basic Accounting Software, but it gets the job done

Opmerkingen: Very good. The customer service is superb. They answer the phone and are very helpful. If they don't know an answer, they find it out and get back to you. Email support is good too. The software is pretty basic compared to Quickbooks but if you don't need all those fancy features as I don't, it gets the job done. And the price is much better than Quickbooks. They have a bank reconciliation module, but I don't use it. Highly recommend for small businesses.

Pluspunten:

Started out on the package almost 5 years ago. It was pretty basic then, Patriot has added a steady stream of features to it each year. We don't use a lot of them however. I like the dashboard. If you are using the Payroll module, it's totally seamless integration. No frills accounting but that's ok because that's all I need.

Minpunten:

Can't put a check number on a Quick Pay when you are running it. I use manual checks and there's not way to do that, except by putting the check number in the notes. If you are using printed check stock, that would not be an issue. Reporting is a little thin, but it gets the job done. The Financial statement is a little weird how it calculates owner's equity but my accountant reviewed the numbers and said it is correct. If you have accrued liabilities, They use "modified cash basis" which it also odd vs. Cash Basis. No Statement available to send out to customers.

Honesty

Opmerkingen: Patriot software is great for a small business tho it is a little clunky its workable.

Pluspunten:

Recording payments is very easy tho at times I forget to hit the save button. Also the payroll is very easy and smooth to use.

Minpunten:

Cant partial pay a invoice (like sending a deposit) very annoying. The whole invoice part is very clunky not smooth at all. Same with seeing Bills from vendors. Also on invoicing It would be nice to be able to have spaces in the reference (we use addresses and codes). It helps our customers see what address we billed for. I wish you could also on the invoice have the comments above the billing portion. Overall a little bit of letting us change the format of some of the built in forms would be nice

Ease of use. Multiple reports. A must have for our business!!

Minpunten:

Usually need to convert reports to other formats for my auditors or tax professionals. But is no biggie.

Good Customer Service and a Decent Product

Opmerkingen: Overall, this is a pretty decent option although I still most of my accounting clients to other options.

Pluspunten:

Their customer service is good and the software is pretty easy to use. Their pricing is also reasonable.

Minpunten:

It can be difficult moving from a different accounting program to this one. Some of the accounts payable entries are time consuming. Sometimes it seems like there are extra steps required that are unnecessary.

Powerful

Opmerkingen: My overall experience is good because I didn't encounter any major issues. And even if I had, it's always resolved ASAP.

Pluspunten:

I can do a lot of things with this software and not just simply payroll itself. It is also very easy to use. I can use the free expert support wherein the chat support aren't robots. I call, chat and email them and they really solve problems. It's mobile friendly too. It doesn't take up too much space on my phone. The design gives me access to my account anywhere and there is no hassle in downloading and updating. These are the things I like most based on experience and it's overall helpful to me.

Minpunten:

What I like least about this software is the optional 1099 e-filing because it has nominal fees. It's nice to have this feature though and it's good because it's optional. I'm just sharing that it's my least favorite feature. This feature is digital and I can file forms with it in just a few clicks.

Patriot Software

Opmerkingen: I have lots of questions on bank reconciliation. The customer service help I received on my various questions was excellent. Everyone is so knowledgeable and very pleasant.

Pluspunten:

Customer service is top notch. When ever I have a question, it is answered either by chat, phone call or searching through the system. Very user friendly.

Minpunten:

I don't like the preset invoice number when creating an invoice. I would like that to be blank. I have my own invoice number to enter, so I need to delete the preset before entering my own.

Needs improvement

Opmerkingen: It’s a love- hate relationship. I’d definitely move to new software if it weren’t for the need to use the payroll feature and the recurring invoicing. It often gives weird error messages upon signing in for no reason. Just a lot of bugs and quirks.

Pluspunten:

The recurring billing is a huge plus of this software where so many other online accounting programs fall short.

Minpunten:

It’s very difficult to correct things in this software. It has way too many limitations and some are totally not logical- like only allowing numbers in reference field and when searching for things, the constant need to date change rather than allowing date ranges to remain as you search for past entries, etc.
