Prophix, An easy to Use Product

Opmerkingen: Overall, this product has been great for our organization. It really sped up our month end reporting and we are able to verify the data in which oracle is giving us every month with regards to allocation spreading as well.

Pluspunten:

This product makes our monthly reporting so easy. You can create so many monthly reports to quickly conduct analysis and reporting to end users

Minpunten:

The only negative that is just takes time to fully know the capabilities of this product. They have a lot of training, are willing to help with what you want to do but just difficult sometimes with having your regular duties as well

Great all around tool

Opmerkingen: We solved a great problem that we had and that was to provide a workable, easy to use and robust product to our end user for budgeting purposes. It has surpassed our expectations.We also heavy rely on monthly management reports and board financials. We are also exploring the forecasting capabilities which we have high hopes for as well.

Pluspunten:

To start with the easy of implementation and the knowledge of Prophix's internal consultants. It was one of the smoothest implementation we've been through. One of the great features is the ad hoc analysis. It is a quick powerful pivot table like structure that lets you analyze your data very efficiently.

Minpunten:

I would say formatting options for dashboard charts could improve. For example, having option to place labels in more than one location on a chart.

Prophix: a good companion

Opmerkingen: Overall, we have managed to achieve greater reliability of the consolidated financial data and better formalisation of the adjustments

Pluspunten:

It is a versatile tool that allows for efficient management of the consolidation process

Minpunten:

In my view, some reports are not very clear.

Prophix is great for getting started with budgeting!

Opmerkingen: Prophix was a solid program, just had a few big issues and were tough to work through during a growing time in our company

Pluspunten:

Prophix was very user friendly for budget holders, and had a great line item schedule that allowed budget holders to put in necessary details to remind them where they left off in quarterly cycles

Minpunten:

Prophix would break a lot and fail pulling in data from the erp. Refreshing the data would take up to 12 hours sometimes, making it very hard to make updates and see the impact quickly

Budget process streamlining. Ability to easily switch from month to month for reporting purposes.

Implementation took longer than planned for both implementations I have done.

The loading times have gotten worse - for opening reports, and for the report binders.

Prophix has a lot of features that you can use and it is very flexible.

My biggest issue with Prophix was at first I wasn't used to the software so it seemed hard to work in.

Pluspunten:

Prophix's customer service is top tier- allows willing to help and enhance the user experience. The cloud implementation was the best overall, compared to other software on the market.

Minpunten:

There are so many features that we are not utilizing due to time and internal manpower. We have been putting together a project plan to work with our CS staff to ensure we are allowing for more integral processes and reports.

Financial Reporting from Great Plains

Opmerkingen: We use a third party company for training but upgraded to the cloud and find it user friendly or a lot online to learn from.

Pluspunten:

The import process is seamless and makes reporting easy and fast. User friendly to manipulate reports and create reports for end users.

Minpunten:

Waterfall features not at excel level and some items will have to be exported for formatting, but easily imported back in.

Opmerkingen: Our experience is good overall

Pluspunten:

The integration was easy and it is fairly easy to create reports.

Minpunten:

Some functionalities works only with the Workflow function which is not useful for us, being only a handful of users. Need to go through the Support team to get the Data Integration to work properly with the format in the file every time we make changes.

Prophix software makes budgeting and reforecasting a breeze.

Minpunten:

It can sometimes be hard for a user to understand/learn.

Faster and more accurate reporting

Opmerkingen: Overall, our implementation team has been extremely helpful, our reports look good, and are quick to update and send

Pluspunten:

The product is simple to use, to is mostly intuitive.

Minpunten:

There are some bugs still to be worked out and I wish certain features did not require the more complex MDX function in order to work properly.

Best in Ease of Use and Flexibility

Pluspunten:

The ability to be able to forecast and slice and dice data is key in financial and program review. Also, the ability to report on both financial and non financial metrics in one Report and dashboard is an amazing feature.

Minpunten:

I would like to see the reporting be more enhanced like Dynamics management Reporter.

FP&A Guide to Complete Effectiveness

Opmerkingen: Overall, I would say that the FP&A team will be completely revolutionized in the upcoming 2-3 years as we implement Prophix methodology to all our external reports and can add value for all stakeholders in and out of the organization.

Pluspunten:

- the customizability of each report and section allows the user to really feel like they're in control. There is a clear step by step process that you can follow and get whatever report you'd like out of it.

Minpunten:

There is often delays that take place during busy hours. This can be frustrating, but it is very limited to select parts of the business day.

Prophix

Opmerkingen: We use Prophix for all of our financial reporting as well as our forecast/budgeting process. We've been able to streamline our forecast and budgeting process using templates and workflows that we release to owners of each of our products and lines of business. This simplifies the process for our team to consolidate all submissions and easily report on the totals. We utilize the allocation process to allocate administrative expenses down to a product/line of business and are able to build complex processes to do so. Additionally, we use the DPM functionality for our headcount budgeting for 5000+ employees.

Pluspunten:

User friendly, able to input all levels of detail and multiple drill across options to see all details. Able to easily build complex processes and allocations.

Minpunten:

We've found that when we run into issues, we aren't always given detailed reasons as to why the issue occurred. The issue is always resolved eventually, but we'd like to know more in order to troubleshoot better ourselves. This often happens with our month-end data loads (actuals & budget).

CPM Made Easy

Opmerkingen: We used to consolidate all of our financials for 20+ agencies using excel and it was a nightmare. After using Prophix we have been able to reduce errors, improve reporting, and be more analytical. The latest commentary functionality allows us to exclusively use Prophix for our forecasting and analytics.

Pluspunten:

As a finance employee, I enjoy the freedom of being able to control and maintain Prophix with minimal IT support. We have an on-premise server and I am able to RDP into the system if needed and reset services, modify tables, and update to the latest Prophix version without having to include our IT department. This allows me to quickly diagnosis issues and work more efficiently.

Minpunten:

Report building can be problematic at times, especially when creating large reports with multiple data views.

Prophix Saves us Time and Money

Opmerkingen: It is far superior than any other software I have used for reporting. Prophix makes everything we use it for easier and faster. The support team is easy to work with.

Pluspunten:

Prophix saves our team multiple days of work every month and multiple days during budgeting and planning every year. We have improved reporting and analysis. We can pull data from several sources and consolidate in one place.

Minpunten:

Graphing capabilities, but they have communicated that it is in the product roadmap.

Great Product for

Pluspunten:

It is intuitive and easy to use. If you're familiar with excel, most of the functions carry over flawlessly.

Minpunten:

Connecting more than 20 ERP systems to import data was a challenge. It affected the overall performance and ultimately usage as my company has not fully been able to convert to the cloud version. The administrator is still managing the Smart Client.

Great Product with Excellent Customer Support

Opmerkingen: My overall experience has been great. They support customers through their Prophix Academy and annual user conference. The monthly webinars are very informative. The staff is always very friendly and easy to work with. We are hoping to bring more processes into Prophix in the future.

Pluspunten:

I like the flexibility of this product. You can build any type of report, forecast, calculation, etc. that you want as long as you can feed data to it. I also really like the customer support - they are very helpful and responsive when their's a problem.

Minpunten:

There are some manual activities maintenance activities you need to do. I can navigate it fairly well with the documentations provided.

Opmerkingen: Their consultants / client service team are very knowledgeable and always provide timely support!

Pluspunten:

As long as all the cubes, modules and formulas are set up in Prophix, there is no worries about someone will accidently changes them. Those accidents easily happens for Excel models.

Minpunten:

Some formulas are not flexible as Excel. For instance, it is hard to apply seasonality for sales forecast.
