SignUpGenius Review from a Teacher

Pluspunten:

The SignUpGenius is instrumental in our schools success of always having a teacher/administrator at each of our events. Thoughout our school year it is easy to forget something we had signed up to help with and that means that the students will suffer. With SignUpGenius we sign up for dates and it will email us reminders. Also you can go in and look at the calendar in case something comes up and you can change availability dates (If its not too close to the sign up date). It's also all in one spot.

Minpunten:

Sometimes things come up last minute and you can't change you dates. But other than that it works like it should and we have very few scheduling problems/headaches.

Great tool for volunteer registration and engagement

Opmerkingen: It's a great tool when recruiting groups for an event. It keeps track of who is scheduled for which shift, if there are more than one, and provides reminders to volunteers in intervals--one week out, 2 days out and day-of. If you need to organize a group for a team effort, SignUp Genius makes it very easy to do.

Pluspunten:

I really like the ease of use for my volunteers to sign up. I work with a lot of volunteers that are retired and don't spend lots of time on the computer, and it's very easy for them to sign up. They like that they don't have to create an account or provide any other information to sign up beyond their email address for reminders. We source volunteers about 14-16 times per year, and this helps that process to happen seamlessly every time.

Minpunten:

The ads. At the end when volunteers sign up, they are bombarded with these pop up adds for various vendors. Once you close the window, another pops up and then another and another. You have to click through 3 or 4 before it goes away. Not a fan.

Volunteer Sign Up Management

Pluspunten:

SignUpGenius is a useful tool in procuring and managing volunteers for specific needs. I like the ability to allow more than one volunteer to sign up for each date - the slots feature is helpful! I also appreciate the option to have email reminders sent to volunteers prior to their commitment. This saves a lot of time, and allows me to rest assured that my volunteers will show up! The forms are relatively easy to create, duplicate, and send. My volunteers also find the signing up process to be quick and easy.

Minpunten:

There are times when using SignUpGenius that the ads can get in the way. This is, I imagine, only on the free version. Without doing a little digging, it can be difficult to set up the form initially - use takes some getting used to.

SignUpGenius is the best platform for organizing events!

Pluspunten:

What I liked most about SignUpGenius was how simple it was to organize events and get people to sign up for things. It made coordinating group activities, like parties or volunteer opportunities, super easy because everyone could see what was needed and pick what they wanted to do. SignUpGenius is the best virtual medium for allowing people to contribute together. I have used this myself many times to organize class parties or assignments. In the education field, this is the preferred platform and is not only used by me, but also the PTA, our school, and the entire district.

Minpunten:

What I liked least about SignUpGenius was that the interface can feel a bit cluttered, making it hard to find what you need sometimes. Some of the options are a bit confusing. For example, when I need to make multiple entries it can be confusing choosing the correct way to do it because there are several ways to make an entry. It is more confusing if I need to have more than one sign up for a certain category. It would be nice if it was more user friendly.

Great platform for non-tech people

Opmerkingen: SignUpGenius has been such a game changer in setting up activities for volunteers, donations for events, and more. I love it.

Pluspunten:

I like that it is free and easy to use as someone that is not a coder.

Minpunten:

I wish it worked a little better on my phone.

Great for Non-Profits

Opmerkingen: Overall it's a great tool that any organization that uses sign ups. It can accommodate a lot of different types of signups which makes it very flexible. I would definitely recommend.

Pluspunten:

Our not for profit group had endless issues with volunteer tracking and recruiting. We'd use spreadsheets and word documents and it was just painful. So we started using SUG and many of our issues went away. The single best thing is that it is simple for our volunteers to sign up which is the most important thing. Our admin was also able to learn it fairly easily.

Minpunten:

The free version has lots of ads so that is somewhat annoying. But the biggest weakness of SUG is the user interface. It's very old and antiquated. This isn't a huge negative but something I think the company could fix if they tried.

Hassle free scheduling

Pluspunten:

It made life so much easier with scheduling. i just have to put in the time slots and voila!

Minpunten:

a choice of option for 'more than 2' slots would have been better, probably?

Not a bad tool, but there are others I like better.

Pluspunten:

The ability to list out needed items and the quantity.

Minpunten:

The look of it feels old fashioned. Not as sleek and modern.

Convenient Sign-up Tool

Opmerkingen: Overall the tool is very easy to use and very convenient for both the parent and the educator.

Pluspunten:

This tool makes it easy to sign-up for appointments with my child's teacher.

Minpunten:

The layout often times may get a little annoying when scrolling down to find open time slots.

It Gets the Job Done

Opmerkingen: It's helpful to have for signing-up purposes and not specific to a single type of signup (e.g. Meals, Transportation)

Pluspunten:

I like the customizable features for appearance and that there are several options available. It is a well-known brand as well.

Minpunten:

That unused slots don't delete after the date scheduled passed automatically. It's frustrating to have to go back and delete unused slots.

Teacher Sign Up Genius

Opmerkingen: I love this fast efficient way to keep track of parent conferences .

Pluspunten:

I like the ability to create an electrionic sign up sheet for my parent/teacher conferences.

Minpunten:

Some of the templates are only available with a basic account. Please consider providing the option of allowing a teacher account that would offer educational amenities within the signups.

It's started as a homeschool thing that helped my business

I like that it is easy to use in many settings and cheap. We started using it for our kids' online school appointments. I then started using it fomy work events,

I have no complaints other than the layout could be designed cleaner.

The ease of navigating the website for fundraisers , meal trains and volunteer opportunities .

Minpunten:

Sometimes it doesn’t update live time. So if two people are navigating the sign up , it won’t show right away that someone already signed up. However it’s not a huge deal, It’s still worth it .

Helpful tool for volunteer management

Pluspunten:

I have to coordinate many volunteers and plan meetings for us. Not everyone is on Outlook so it is challenging to know what windows of time work for us to meet, plan and serve. This tool really helps resolve that!

Minpunten:

The cost barrier is the biggest challenge for me.

Looking forward to using more

Opmerkingen: I use SignUpGenius with my church groups a lot. I'm normallynot the administrator but the information about the events and attendees is helpful.

Pluspunten:

The email is easy to navigate and helps me remember what I have committed to.

Minpunten:

The ads to create other request/lists are annoying. Most of the time I am working on multiple tasks. It's a pain to have to stop and read another question when all I wanted to do was confirm or deny my participation in an event. I don't need to know anything more about others.

This program could not be easier to use. You just use your email address to be able to access the program and sign up for a volunteer slot. And I especially like the feature where you can see who else signed up for the same times so you can sign up with your friends!

Minpunten:

It looks like the company has not updated the UI in awhile, so it looks dated and could use a facelift.

Super Easy to Use & Access

Opmerkingen: Amazing with having everyone being able to sign up for slots & add comments that are readable by others signing up. One of our favorite uses of this website is our holiday parties. So being able to know what others plan to bring is super important and SignUp Genius makes it super easy to do.

Pluspunten:

Super easy to use on your phone and important for ease of access. Plus the ability to see what everyone signs up for and when is super helpful for event planning!

Minpunten:

It requires typing out all of the items you need be filled in without allowing for pre-set templates for what we use it for. But it doesn't take much time.

Easy to use for non-profit

Opmerkingen: Helps me keep all my setup volunteer dates in one place and even adds to my apple calendar for an extra reminder.

Pluspunten:

I am able to sign up to volunteer and my kids school with ease. It even helps me add to my calendar.

Sometimes it is hard for me to see all available time slots at once. I usually us this on my mobile device though and it is easier to see by computer.

Pluspunten:

Creating an event through SignUpGenius is very easy, I have used this for personal and family events to track attendance. I have also used the app to respond to attendance requests whether it be for volunteering or required attendance at an event.

Minpunten:

Nothing, as the app meets my needs as a developer of an event and to respond to an event request.
