Opmerkingen: I have tried other directories, from the best sellers to others that are very simple and low payment. However, I have also had problems with them and mainly with translation. Every time the loco translate plugin was updated, it would misconfigure everything, or with the theme itself when it was updated, it would get something unconfigured. Mainly in the part where customers showed their information, which is in Spanish. And that was very frequent.
And the creator of that directory preferred sales to having translation into another language natively. And this was a real headache: to stop paying attention to other things to correct this. To begin with, that's why I switched to Brilliant directories, because it already has the Spanish language by default. And now that I have your attention, let me tell you how good and how bad Brilliant directories has been for me and why FOR ME, IT WAS A HEADACHE NOT TO HAVE USED IT BEFORE: The Good: You save a lot of effort. Short and fast learning curve.
Its basic tutorials to get started are clear.
If you're not a developer, this is your best buy.
The support team is fast and effective.
You will save yourself something that is more expensive in your entire life: time.
(Time that you don't have enough or that you can dedicate to other projects). The Bad:
It's not cheap. (Nor are cars with all the safety systems, a larger family car, or sports cars.) However, for me, it's worth every penny I spent. If you are an entrepreneur and you are starting out and you do not have many resources, I suggest that you save and invest in it. Even if it's with the basics. For me it is a way of investing in an asset that will generate passive income. So I consider it to be a good investment in the short and long term, or a good expense that is worth making. That's why I'm telling you.
It will be a headache if you don't have brilliant directories, you're going to waste a lot of time updating other directories

A total game changer for my business!

Opmerkingen: I recently started using one of BD’s themes and I’m impressed! Truthfully, it’s more than a directory though but you need to dive in to see what I mean 😉 I also enjoy their weekly sessions where they give updates and answer community questions.

BD is a time saver for anyone who wants to start a directory. The team is also fantastic! Excellent support whenever you contact them 😊

Lots of features. Their salesmen are good at telling you all the things you want to hear. After your payment clears the bank, you learn the truth about the limitations.

Minpunten:

Their claim to provide the source code is BS. Regardless of what they tell you, they limit access to the source code and you will spend a lot of money trying to customize the system. I believe they limit access, so they can sell you Customization Hours. The designs are way outdated and customizing is very limited. Look deeper at their examples. We fell for the initial purchase and then a follow up email for another license for super cheap, so before I could get into customizing their product, I owned two licenses (and still do, for sale by the way). On the surface, BD appears to be perfect. It is great as long as you don't need unlimited access to the code or REALLY need to customize it (not talking about changing colors). You decide.

Great platform to bring your hive

Opmerkingen: From the moment I signed up, I was impressed with the intuitive interface. The setup process was straightforward, guiding me step by step in creating a professional-looking site, all without the need for any coding knowledge. This is a true game-changer for those who may feel overwhelmed by technology but want to achieve a polished and functional website. The tool is a mature product. If you want a membership website up and running quickly, I highly recommend it to anyone. Along with CNAME, it is truly a great product, and you can’t beat the lifetime license pricing.

Customization. One of the standout features is its robust customization options. I can tailor my directory to match my brand’s aesthetic perfectly. The membership capabilities are outstanding. The tool offers excellent management functionalities that cater to my needs. With that said, don’t let the customization process turn you off. It is a plus!

Customization. For those who don't like to tinker too much, the ability to customize their site may sound daunting initially, but don't fret—you will get there.

Platform that suites all my needs in one go

Opmerkingen: I'm happy with support and with the product especially since I don't need to purchase a separate server and worry about the maintenance.

I like the the possibilities Brilliant Directories offers to make a directory to fit my needs with it's basic features and also additional apps offered. There is nothing similar in the market and best of all, Brilliant Directories offers me all the services I need in one package.

The setup takes some time to learn and the UI could get a refreshener.

If You Demand the Best - Look No Further

Opmerkingen: AS far as a business relationship goes, I have never been treated more professionally by any other company that I have dealt with online. I feel appreciated, respected, and valued as a long-time customer. The integrity of everyone that I have dealt with over the years is beyond reproach. The inability to build high-end landing pages that render beautifully in mobile view. While there have been improvements in this area, there is still a long way to go. I hope capability gets serious attention in the new year.

I Didn’t Think It Could Be Done – How Wrong I Was

Opmerkingen: Some of my previous directory software had some features but were either not very well supported, were not reliable or were out of date. Brilliant Directories look after and update every single feature-packed section of their platform which is very encouraging. Support is very fast and knowledable.

Pluspunten:

I’ve been ‘looking’ at running a directory for some time now. Using Wordpress, JVZoo and Warrior Plus products and services but NONE have given a satisfactory result. My local community enjoyed my local website for a number of years but it never really turned into something I was planning to do with it. Other directories I’ve managed suffered from lack of support or even the vendors going out of business. So, I needed a format from a vendor I could trust that had first class support in place, a reliable website with an engine that was updated regularly and, also, had to be easy to use. I didn’t think it could be done but, how wrong I was … enter Brilliant Directories. Absolutely everything one could wish for seemed to be included in their offering. Getting started was a breeze as everything is laid out in a sensible order with help every step of the way via text documents with images and or short training videos. I needed to contact support on occasions and they got back to me in a timely manner which did impress me. I now have a clear roadmap to how I can monetise all the features that Brilliant Directories brings to the table. Yes, it’s a big deal to get from starting to the finished article and it won’t be done overnight but, the way everything is presented inside each directory makes it so straightforward and intuitive that any of the usual roadblocks are simply not there. Some features are niggly to set up but not because of Brilliant Directories but places like the Google developers section and Facebook Apps which are very complex for a non-techie person. However Brilliant Directories had text and image help files and videos on each step so softened the frustration. Also, support were able to step in to help very quickly.

My favorite straight-out-of-the-box membership directory builder!

Candidly, the training videos and support team has always been so helpful and detailed. Where most software tutorial videos end up being insanely long and boring, Brilliant Directories nails it with a great library of FAQs, pipelines for setting up and configuring your website, and a Youtube library of webinar replays that give you ideas how to incentivize upgrades. A close second is, of course, the powerful website builder itself. The whitelabel functions are not obnoxious and you can customize nearly all colors and pages to your liking.

Minpunten:

So far I am so excited about the items on the roadmap for Brilliant Directories. My only complaint would be the learning curse for beginning to conceptualize the feature trees for members and how each member can tag themselves to be listed in different sub- or sub-sub-categories. I am still practicing, but with many preview tests, it is very evident how unlimited the possibilities are.

Over the Top Support

Opmerkingen: This particular review is focused on the support from the people at Brilliant Directories versus the product itself (which is excellent!!). All of my interactions have been positive and I have received the help I've needed at the time. From my initial contact with the company via [SENSITIVE CONTENT] initially as well as his help in the last few days, the assistance has been excellent. The support team has been very responsive in my experiences with them, when I have had questions about how to do something, or when I have wanted to know "if" I could do something. Their willingness to go beyond has been over the top for me. That doesn't often occur these days and I am thankful.

Pluspunten:

Ease of use to get up and running in a short amount of time with the basics for adding members. Fine-tuning does take more time to get into, but is expected. The better prepared and organized you are before getting started, the better.

Minpunten:

There is a learning curve to refine what is needed on a long-term basis, but that is to be expected with going to any new platform. It depends a lot on your model and what you are wanting to do. The upside is that the support and the community are very helpful as you build out your directory, which is very welcomed especially when you are new and maybe not as sure where you are headed with your business.

Love it for two big reasons!

There were two reasons I bought Brilliant Directories within hours of discovering it! Firstly, the software itself was far better than any other directory I had found by far (including the horrible experience of trying to build one on Wordpress with ListingPro). Secondly, the service. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]called me within minutes of my inquiry and patiently walked me through the platform. She was super clear and very helpful and I "walked" away with 3 licenses!

I created a top-notch website with no knowledge of programming or coding, thanks to the great work done behind the scenes by everyone involved with Brilliant Directories. They are truly passionate about their work, and it shows.

Pluspunten:

My previous website built by another company started falling to pieces due to the fact that the programmers wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for every comma or full stop I needed to add. I could not do any alterations myself, even though they had promised that I would own the code. In the end, I lost all my google rankings and it became ineffective. I was about to lose all my members and 3 years of hard work. I am so glad that after some research, I found this great company who ticked all the boxes of my requirements. First, I wanted to be able to customise all the site pages. Not just the design features. I needed to be able to create new customised pages, in order to allow me to develop my original concept. As well, I wanted this flexibility to be able to keep the website relevant as time went by. Secondly, I wanted to have a support team which is expert and dedicated to this site. The main clincher is that the support is included for free with the package you buy, and not charged separately for every minor issue one will invariably encounter along the way. The exception to this is when you need to do some major changes which will affect the whole system. The job you require is quoted by select programmers, who do a great job. The forte of brilliant directories is their amazing documentation, video tutorials and the Webinar Wednesdays. Go through these and you can learn how to manage your site inside and out. They hold nothing back. Cannot thank them enough.

Even though Brilliant Directories offer website templates for most types of businesses, varying from Yellow pages type, to Real Estate to Events to Jobs, if you have a website concept that doesn't fit exactly into a template, then you need to do some customisation. For this you need to pay extra. The learning curve increases the more different your concept varies from the templates. There are so many possibilities with this software, that you can never really master it all, especially if you have no coding knowledge like myself. However, considering the low entry fee, and that most businesses are covered by the templates, then the chance of any major software customisation you might need are minimal. Anyway, to their credit, they are constantly updating the basic structure with new functions and this is decreasing the need of customisation.

Reliable Support and Well-Developed, but Limited Design Options

Brilliant Directories is hidden gold in a world of unique platforms

Opmerkingen: My experience with Brilliant Directories has been a pleasant one because I knew what I was getting into. I studied the platform prior to committing any dollars to it. I took it out for a test drive with a trial. I watched the interaction in their Facebook group. Once I jumped in I knew that it would take time to build and I prepared my mind for that. Now that I know what It can do I really want to customize it more so now I need to slow down and learn some of the advanced areas. I really love working in this tool and the tech support is second to none.

Pluspunten:

I think what I liked most about using a tool like Brilliant Directories is the range that it presents. You can make it as small or as large as you want it to be. If you want to do a small site you can if you want to run a massive site you can do that as well.

Minpunten:

I think what I like least is the way it is structured or broken out. It is not a con per se, but if you are a starter in building directories it can be overwhelming and that is not a bad thing it's just once you jump into the Brilliant Directories pool you better make darn sure you can swim or willing to put in the time to learn how to swim in that ocean. I think they should give you some type of bumpers like in bowling when you are just learning. They just give you keys to fancy million dollar car and let you go. Which is nice, but can scare people who are novices

My opinion of Brilliant Directories

Opmerkingen: I would like to share my brief opinion of Brilliant Directories Our team have looked into many directory softwares before we decided on BD. We are experts in WordPress sites and have created and still run a number of WordPress based directories We have purchased 3 FULL licenses from BD as we fully believe this is the best directory software available. BD is 99% ready to go live from the very start, many sites will be able to signup, watch the videos, do some basic changes and off they go. It is the closest directory software thats ready to go straight from off the shelf. We are trying to create directory sites that function slightly different to the majority of directory sites out there, so we are undertaking many customisations in the looks and design and the way it functions. Our development team have found the structure of the BD backend, the access to certain functions and code, is amazingly simple and easy. The more we play around with the system and the code, the more we appreciate what the Brilliant Directory team have created. On the surface the BD admin area is basic. However looking at it in more details you will find that theres a whole world of tweaks, changes and edits that are possible. The system appears to be rock solid, and even when we think we are pushing the system to its limits with code changes, it always functions well. We are extremely happy with our purchase of the FULL licenses, and we have no doubt we will be able to create the perfect directory sites we are aiming to achieve. The only negative we need to make is that we are based in different time zones from the BD team so when we ask a question, we are always a day late in getting a response even if responded by the BD team that same day. I think if the BD team can improve their support reply time scale then the service will be not far from perfect in our opinion I hope that this helps people in some way, and gives some idea of our experience BD team, you guys are nearly there, keep improving the system (as we see you do) and customer service side of things and we think you will go far as a business. Looking forward to launching our sites and creating our directory businesses with you guys.

Brilliant Directories Software Review

Opmerkingen: This software is good in terms of functionality as it manages subscriptions nicely and wraps the directory functionality into one. However, the user interface is pretty confusing. It takes a long time to figure out how all of the pieces are connected (i.e. where links are stored, how to change forms, how the forms connect with widgets etc.) The UI and the flow could be more user friendly and obvious. Perhaps there should be an overview about how all of the pieces of the website link up to each other. Once you figure out how to use the tools, it requires jumping between many different components to implement a simple change, so it is a bit clunky. Additionally, you really need significant coding experience to customize. I.e. Part of the reason we purchased this software was because it had many of the features we need, and in particular I was told pre-purchase that there was a way to create different types of users (i.e. a general user, A listing user, a non-listing user) and that I could also customize what they each see in their profile. In reality however, in order to customize what each sees in their profile, you need to custom code, which I wasn't aware of....Overall the software includes great functionality for running a site and managing subscriptions but could be more user friendly.

Flexible

Opmerkingen: I am greatful.i found them. They are professional and have excellent technology that fits my needs. Their platform allows for users to monetize it and Brilliant Directories is not counting my potential revenue. They come from a solution approach.

There is so much this does and I have not explored all features. I am hoping to find a feature that allows users to build a network of local businesses and share their network with other users. I would define users as internal and external. Internal are users within the directory that utilize the directory to promote their business where external customers use the directory to search.. if I am a Realtor and have 50 internal customers I am constantly sharing with buyers and seller who are external customers.. I would like to leverage the directory where external customers would get my list of internal customers..

Awesome Product Im Glad I Found It

I enjoy knowing that I do not have to create all those automatic email forms, or the privacy policy, terms and conditions. For the most part all you have to do is add a title for your site, the logo, categories and subcategories. The site is clean in design and the best part is that it is already mobile friendly (that alone is a relief) Now, I have used some AI chat bots in my time but the one that is on the admin site is freaking awesome and by far the best I have ever dealt with, so my hats are off to whoever is the mastermind behind that thing. A very well trained AI Chat Bot!

I am a a novice website designer and I had some issues with were to start and what the next steps were. BD does a good job at providing training but does not make as easy as I assumed it should be to paint by the numbers. I was expecting a step by step guide illustrating what to do and how to do it. Now dont get this wrong, I found out how to do what I needed to do but it was not without some fustration.

Very Useful Platform for a Directory Startup

Brilliant Directories offers all of the features that any directory needs. It's easy to add options such as: coupons, photos, videos, and blogs, as well as different membership levels. Importing and exporting data is also quite simple.

Minpunten:

By necessity, this software is quite complex. This isn't a flaw - it's just the way a quality directory is. It takes time to learn everything that you need to know to get a directory up and running. Consequently, I recommend starting out with a very specific market niche, and a limited number of features. "Bells and whistles" can later be introduced as upgrades.
