Opmerkingen: If cost is not an issue, this is should be the tool to go to. This is one of the best IAM tools present out there.

Pluspunten:

The deployment and app integration with Okta is fairly simple. The tool is very admin friendly and user friendly. It's due to it's ease of use and wide variety of features that it offers, it is one of the best IAM tools and regarded as one of the best SSO solutions out there. The SSO integration is very simple and straightforward with most of the apps and most of the vendors that support SSO integration with Okta. The option to have an independent directory as well as an option to integrate with your existing directory works quite well. Other features such as life cycle management, Directory service and threat management make it a complete package. If cost is not an issue, this is should be the tool to go to. The documentation is very clear and the supoort is very responsive. The deployment takes less than 3 months.

Minpunten:

The only downside is the cost which is much higher as compared to its competitors

Okta, the one provider that delivers

Opmerkingen: 10/10 .I've worked at SMB, Large Enterprise and startups. I ALWAYS get Okta if the org can afford it. There is really no "competition" that comes close to delivering a product as polished and easy to use as Okta.

Pluspunten:

Okta does what Okta says it does, and delivers. Okta doesn't try to be like other competitors (if you can call them that in the space) and does IAM, SSO and Security. It doesn't do 15 things poorly, it does what it does better than anyone else on the market. Okta's support is also insanely good. I've had Okta support trouble shoot an application issue and figure it out before the actual application support even scheduled a call with me. If you want fast a great support, then you really need Okta.

Minpunten:

For smaller organizations the price is higher than others that "offer more". I say offer more, because in reality you get subpar products bundled together that all "kind of" work. Really if your org can afford it, you'll have a top notch product with Okta that is bar none.

They will sell you then drop you and won't get in touch until it's billing time again

Opmerkingen: We had a terrible experience with Okta. Our sales rep left out very important details that would have dissuaded us signing up. First, the SSO paywall for 3rd parties is so massive and of course they left out that detail. For $12k per year, our costs would exceed $50k in 3rd party charges, just to connect the core apps we use on a daily basis. Second, they said Okta would work seemlessly for our customer service reps, who check in on email accounts and different software services that we use; however, after talking to 3 customer service reps, we found out that we could not achieve this using Okta, making this all-or-nothing deal fall short of our needs. Thirdly, they insisted that we pay them to get support on the product that they sold us on. I would highly recommend first googling "SSO wall of shame" and thinking twice about signing with Okta. They are hounding us to pay for year 2 when we did not even launch it in year 1. Steer clear of these guys, they will bait and switch and they only care about signing new customers.

Pluspunten:

Getting the team set up was relatively straightforward.

Minpunten:

Setting up individual apps can be tedious and not straightforward. They offered no support unless we paid them. The paywall for SSO is very steep. Multiple users cannot access single accounts using Okta Verify.

Powerful and flexible identity management

Opmerkingen: Okta stands out for its flexibility and high levels of identity management security. It fits very well into the enterprise infrastructure and the centralized administration process facilitates secure access to applications and cloud environments.

Pluspunten:

It is easy to manage user access to applications. Offers a very fast and secure login that simplifies access to the application stack, access notification arrives instantly. It has excellent customization options that enhance its ability to adapt. Enables you to create integrations that strengthen security, drive operational processes and strengthen automation.

Minpunten:

This solution provides robust identity management. Initial setup is cumbersome and time-consuming.

I am amused with the SSO feature and how it saves my time

Opmerkingen: I recommend using this excellent security tool as it has a lot of integrations for 2FA and provides my company with a wide range of configurations that could be customized on the unit/division level.

Pluspunten:

The most important feature for me as a user is a single sign-on option. I should pass the auth flow dozens of times on a daily basis to various services and platforms configured on my projects.In addition to this, from the security perspective, the login and the password are not saved on my work PC, so if I had to use the standard auth flow with credentials filling, it will be very painful to repeat it so many times daily.The SSO helps me to pass the authentication just using my phone, it is very handy!I can verify my identity by clicking the button on my smart watches, or I am able to confirm the 2FA with my cell number usage.

Minpunten:

The token expiration time can be variative from time to time.

The best SSO I have used so far!

Opmerkingen: I use it multiple times a day, to access everything on my work environment and it has never failed, not a single time in over one year, that's a 5 start software!

Pluspunten:

I have used many other SSO software apps in the past, Okta is by far the best of them all, safe, easy to use and user friendly!

Minpunten:

Maybe just the fact than a Okta window remains open after you use it and you have to go and manually close it everytime, but it's not a big deal.

Very usefull tool for single sign-on

Opmerkingen: Very friendly to use, a great way to keep everthing connected and not to write your passwords all the time. I love the extension on chrome, very easy and fast to open different apps that I use for work.

Pluspunten:

Okta is very easy to use. I got the app on my phone and is very useful to login verification to the VPN that I use for work. The notification pops up immediately and I have never had a problem with it. It is also great to to single sign-on to platforms that I use for work such as outlook, oracle, confluence and many others.

Minpunten:

There should be another way to connect to okta because I once lost my phone and was not able to login to the vpn because the notification will go through my phone only.

Okta - Best Authenticator

Using this app we can log in to our account securely using realtime OTP or Send push option.

I don't see any bugs in this Okta authendicator.

Password Management made easy!

Opmerkingen: Overall, I am very pleased with this product. It takes away the risk of losing passwords or creating weak passwords that could be compromised. It also allows out IT department to easily have access and data into every app we are using, should there ever be a problem or issue they need to address.

Pluspunten:

We are company that uses a ton of third party softwares and services, all requiring unique, secure passwords. It would be impossible for me to manage all of these quickly without Okta. I love the general interface and how easy it is to safely log into whatever site I need to.

Minpunten:

This is a small UX issue, but when I am logging into okta and I have to go through the SMS authentication, I think it would help make for a better experience (and less confusing) if the "Enter Code" input field and "Send Code" button were reversed in how they are oriented on the page, since the function of Sending the codes ALWAYS precedes the action of inputting the code.

A great add-on to application development

Pluspunten:

The best feature was the Okta Sign-in widget which was used as all the application's sign-in page and served by an AWS Lambda function without issues. The registration (onboarding) flow was easy for users to follow. Integrations to in house developed application + AD was easy to implement. Reporting to see which users were internal vs external made it easy for us to implement different password policies. We were also able to integrate with other clients that were already using Okta for SSO.

Minpunten:

In my opinion the API rate limiting tiers are expensive to operate at scale.

Outstanding software to utilize

Opmerkingen: It oversees SAML, Single Sign On, and other authentication methods. With less danger of password leaking, we can dramatically cut down on the time we invest logging into various platforms and products. It takes less training for new users and gives them fewer bookmarks to manage. I simply appreciated how easy it was to rapidly log into numerous applications using the same login credentials because it uses multifactor authentication. Additionally, it saves a lot of time and facilitates efficient work. As a cloud-based service, Okta contains dictionaries that list the users who have access to certain applications. Thus, it is safeguarding my privacy.

Pluspunten:

Features a customizable and easy-to-use dashboard that facilitates user login. Enables effective role management and optimizes the management of the entire user identity lifecycle. It offers the advantage of having access to business resources centralized in a robust, customized security and access control system.

Minpunten:

Although this platform offers reliability and ease of access and identity management. I would like its user interface to be a bit more modern and visually pleasing.

Okta for remote work

Opmerkingen: Experience has been very positive. I access most of the Apps in Okta from home. For those Apps that I cannot access, I'll just wait until I come back to the office to use them, or bring my work laptop home. Okta has made working remotely more convenient.

Pluspunten:

Lets you access Apps without directly using VPN. This is useful for working remotely since you can use your personal computer to access the Apps instead of bringing your work computer home to access the Apps. All you need is username and password, and second authentication (if set up) to log into Okta to access your Apps.

Minpunten:

There are still certain Apps that need direct VPN in order to access remotely. For these Apps, you still need to bring home your work computer to connect directly to VPN to access them. If this limitation can be overcome, then Okta would be fantastic for remote work; you no longer need to bring your work computer home.

Great tool for giving end users access

Opmerkingen: we use this for so much, a user wants to access an email account or group, give them a chicklet for it, it allows for much better sharing of items and greater control over the access as well which is great.

Pluspunten:

I love this tool. No longer have to risk giving out passwords to account. I can just give my user access to an OKTA account and then assign them chicklets to access account, software, groups and so forth, without them ever having to know the password to them. It works well and is fairly easy to use and set up users. The AD tie in is nice and helps in making it easier to add users to your account. Put yourself at ease and give OKTA a real look you will not be disappointed.

Minpunten:

i would say adding users can seem a bit tricky and odd if you don't do it all the time, it could be a little clearer on adding users into your account. but other than that its pretty solid software

Reliability and fluidity in identity management

Pluspunten:

It allows a good workflow and effective management that minimizes risks. It is highly scalable and easy to use. The self-service it offers allows end users to request a new access without any complications. It allows you to manage the life cycle of a user and the resources and responsibilities to which they have access.

Minpunten:

Although it is an effective and secure platform, its initial installation is very complicated, it presents many configurations.

I No Longer Have to Remember Passwords!

Opmerkingen: I love it. In the future, if I ever get my own business off the ground, I will definitely be considering OKTA as a software that we will use.

Pluspunten:

At my company, we had separate logins for SO MANY PLATFORMS. And you know how it goes - each password has to contain a certain number of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, special characters, etc. It was getting so hard to remember passwords, and I was getting sick of having to reset my password every time I logged into something. OKTA solved that problem for me. By navigating to the OKTA page, I could click on one of the "tiles", and it would log me into that platform. Made my life 100x easier.

Minpunten:

Occasionally, I would have issues logging into OKTA itself, which made it impossible to log into my other apps. This was a bug that our IT team seemed to fix. Aside of that, a lot of my issues turned out to be user-error. Once I received training for OKTA, all of my problems were resolved.

Great single sign-on solution

Pluspunten:

Our organization has well over 50 cloud-based applications deployed in various parts of the business. Okta enables single sign-on by the user, enabling access to all these applications in one place. Users do not need to know or have to remember the web address (url) or credentials (username and password) to the individual websites / application.

Minpunten:

There is the option for the user to show Recent Apps, which automatically populates the last 6 apps accessed. However, it would be helpful for the user to be able to mark an app as a favorite and a Favorites section to automatically populate. Currently, a user would have to manually add a section, label it as Favorites and manually drag in their chosen apps.

Expensive but worth it!

Okta is expensive but an extremely valuable today especially in today's world of cyber security.

Minpunten:

While the tool is great to use the barrier to entry is high as its very expensive compared to competition.

Okta offers various options

Opmerkingen: Overall, I like Okta it’s very easy to navigate, set up, & has various options on how you would like to be authenticated.

Pluspunten:

I like the fact that okta offer you various options that you receive multi-factor authorization notification, for example I really like that you request notification thru phone or RSA secure

Minpunten:

I don’t like the fact that Okta does not offer the face Authenticator option for the main log in screen & instead you have to enter your organization’s user information each time you download the app. Also the fact that there is 2 apps with similar names Okta Verify & Okta Mobile is kind of confusing.

Okta - Easy on IT, Easy on End Users

Pluspunten:

Okta is intuitive to manage. It packages a lot of components into a single pane of glass (unlike, say, Microsoft's solution which requires a bunch of disparate systems). You get a log of value for your money. The support and development teams are responsive. The support for single sign-on to non-SSO apps with the browser plugin is very helpful. The product looks nice, and is easy for end users to use. The Okta Application Network has far more apps total, with SAML support, and with provisioning support than the competitors.

Minpunten:

Their MDM solution (OMM) is very basic, and slow to develop more features. It would be nice if you could deploy any mobile app you wish, not just the ones associated with catalog apps. OMM should really support enterprise wireless profiles as well. The browser plugin for IE sometimes misbehaves, and upgrading it doesn't always go as smoothly as it should.

Okta is great for admins and end users

Opmerkingen: Our company has so many apps that trying to remember passwords for all of them would be a nightmare. I love how Okta can grant access to one user while denying access to that same app for another user.

Pluspunten:

I love how easy this platform is for end users to immediately pick up and use. It is also extremely powerful for IT admins to configure. The Okta Integration Network is a great resource to see if an app / platform is supported. I also LOVE that they offer free training and certifications.

Minpunten:

I wish there was more documentation on how to configure applications from the Okta side. Example: I need to pass a parameter from Okta into my LMS, but neither the LMS vendor nor Okta has any docs stating how to do this.

Okta provides security that doesn't create burdensome obstacles

Opmerkingen: I use Okta every day to navigate to Salesforce, Gong, our DAM, Motivosity, and several other applications we use daily. I like how easy it is to get to these applications and that from an end-user's perspective I don't think about the security element of it much at all. It just helps me do my job.

Pluspunten:

Okta provides security that doesn't create burdensome obstacles. I love that Okta is really easy to verify with. It also serves as a centralized page to find all sorts of applications that I use every single day. It even allows you to customize the order of the applications so you aren't searching for the ones you use more regularly. I really love the Okta Extension on Google. It makes life so much easier.

Minpunten:

I haven't experienced this, but some people have had to verify more often than they would like. I think for most people, it just does it automatically.

Seamless and Secure SSO - A UX Review from a Front-End User

Opmerkingen: I am a user of this software rather an administrator, but do have some visibility to the back-end as I work with our IT department occasionally. From a user experience standpoint, I have not come across a nicer SSO platform. It is truly a pleasure to use and seamless when accessing our systems.

Pluspunten:

A true single sign on platform. We are a high volume company with over 1200 employees and utilize multiple cloud-based vendors. Having all of these platforms centralized within Okta is invaluable. I could not imagine my day-to-day without it. API documentation is extensive and functionality is robust. Okta has become our "Single Source of Truth" for not only connecting vendors, but also our data. Mobile based app is intuitive and fast for dual-authentication. System is very secure. Hand-offs are seamless.

Minpunten:

Dual authentication and tokens can sometime require a dual submission. Permission grants and overall setup for user-specific platforms may take some time. Other than that, not much more!
