ShareFile Gives my Clients Piece of Mind!

Pluspunten:

While working as an Account Executive, I was handling very confidential documents, including sensitive client information and contracts. Sharefile gave my clients the piece of mind knowing that anything we shared was secure and safe at all times. We loved how the platform was compatible with both Dropbox and Google platforms. We also enjoyed no longer having to rely on PDF document sharing, and found that this centralized method was easy and efficient for both us and our clients. We also found the ability to use 3 options to share files was awesome: including uploading from our computer, from our Sharefile account, or by dragging them.

Minpunten:

Only downside of the platform was it was getting more expensive when you wanted more usability.

Offshore Customer Service for US Customers is HORRIBLE

Opmerkingen: It was not a good expensive. It was expensive, customer service was horrible, and I was never able to get any information on adding eSignature functionality to my account.

Pluspunten:

ShareFile was somewhat easy for my clients to understand and use, so there wasn't much of a learning curve.

Minpunten:

Customer service is nonexistent, for all intents and purposes. You're directed to their Help & Support website, which does not usually have the information useful to resolve issues that I ran into, so the next option is a Chat functionality. The Chat is operated by representatives outside of the USA, and replies are canned responses. I just wasted more than 40 minutes cancelling the service, for the second time. I canceled it the first time in June, and was assigned a case number, and sent a confirmation. But then today, my credit card was billed for another annual subscription fee, so I had to follow up, and it has been an excruciatingly painful experience. Also, there is no e-signature functionality built in to ShareFile, so it's useless for tax compliance document management. There is apparently an add-in for RightSignature, but I could never get any information, and only heard through other accountant groups that it is very expensive. ShareFile is expensive enough on its own, so it wasn't worth it to continue, since there are accounant specific applications out there that do a much better job.

Fast, Safe and Reliant Sharetool

Pluspunten:

We use it for all our external files that require signature. Works great for remote workers and locations.

Minpunten:

The pricing could be simpler as we do not use all the features present. However, there is not much to dislike. May require some time to get used to it.

Citrix has got the unique notion of offering simple access to all platforms; I have seen that most MNCs such as Infosys, DeLL, Accenture, and many more are adopting this; the greatest aspect is that it provides all apps in one spot for ease of access.

Initially, something is required to connect to the server and even to reflect the changes made to the files; however, it will be better if speed and connectivity are increased; speed is something to enhance, application availability is a genuine annoyance; during peak hours, apps crash, which might be due to issues with the organization's infrastructure or the application itself.

Poor customer service

Pluspunten:

Reasonable performance with Outlook. Avoid using with Gmail. I had to contact the tech support team multiple times to fix the Gmail plugin. It is not reliable.

Minpunten:

The billing team is terrible. I requested a 3 license package, but they charged me for 5 licenses. I contacted them 5 times and the issue is still not resolved. I ended up having to dispute this with my credit card company. I feel like Sharefile does not care about it's customers. All the representatives say is that they cannot help me.

Great tool for teams that share a lot of documents and need to do it securely.

One concern I have with ShareFile is how frequently they want you to change your password. I understand the need for security, but I despise having to reset passwords so frequently. If the synchronization features are not working properly, it might be difficult to access files or directories, and the tools may abruptly log you out.

Excellent for sensitive data sharing

Honestly the whole software is easy to use. Importing a file takes less than a minute and I have a link generated to be able to send to specific users or to a broader audience in case the client wants to share on a larger scale. Gives our company confidence that sensitive data is being protected more than sending an attachment via email

Minpunten:

Minimal thing, but you can't generate a link to share a file if that file is still open on your computer.

I think that the request list function could use improvement. I also think that a function could be added to make folders more organized, rather than the current “Dropbox” setup.

ShareFile made a large project much easier

Opmerkingen: I would say that having Sharefile made our project much quicker and is still used for updates and new files for our team.

Beta tester turned daily user

Opmerkingen: I have a long history with Citrix. I beta tested the GoToAssist line of products. So they asked me to beta test the ShareFile product. In the beginning it was crap. I tried to upload my files (about 1 TB) and it croaked after 5 GB. I called support and they referred me to a company that was writing a migration tool. I beta tested that too. they asked for my honest opinion and I gave it to them. I told them Citrix should just fix their software and I shouldn't have to buy an extra tool to get my data into the cloud. Fast forward 2 years later, my Accountant tells me we are bleeding money paying for something we're not using (ShareFile) he said use it or dump it. So I download it again, started using it, uploaded my 1TB+ of data into it and was impressed. They have come a LONG way. I can even modify word documents and PDF's within the ShareFile client. Now they have an iOS app and droid app. I see improvements on a regular basis, like now they have a "save to sharefile" option on the iOS. This is Citrix after all they make good stuff. I am glad I stuck with them so long because now I have a grandfathered account type. It's coming along really well and I'm really happy I stuck with them. they used to support WebDav for windows integration, now they have a "Mapped drive app"

Relatively speaking they are coming late to the market, Box and Dropbox have been out a long time. I'm trying to think of some con's but the truth is I know they are improving the software as I type. Oh I though of one. In Microsoft word they don't have "save to sharefile" option like dropbox does, but they do have the "Drive mapper app" so you can save it to Z: or whatever. They don't synchronize with my NAS, it's deliberate. I'm a network engineer I tried all the tricks and workarounds, yes even symbolic links and hard links. They don't work. You're not supposed to do it. They're not trying to be a backup for your NAS.

Great as a File Storage System

Opmerkingen: We put Sharefile in place without an IT admin or any IT specialists on hand. A group of four of us tackled the transition from our university's shared drive, handling the data migration and the set up of folder structures. Because of this, I'm sure we didn't have all file storage best practices down pat. I don't know that Citrix provides much in way of recommendations for how to structure the data; that said, we only purchased Sharefile rather than a more enterprise-minded solution. I am sure with heftier purchases that there'd be more consultation and interaction. For the several-thousand annual price we pay for a team of around 40, the benefits of Sharefile are immense. As with any system of this size that's cloud-based, there's a bit of a learning curve to get comfortable with the more in-depth features and functionality, but once we learned how certain aspects work, it's been great and has become a core part of how we conduct the sharing of files with clients.

Pluspunten:

Cloud-based and easy to understand web interface is nice. Onboarding and implementation was good and inexpensive. The check-in and check-out file features are nice, as are the abilities to share files with external users. The security and uptime as well as ability to resolve any system-wide outages quickly.

Minpunten:

Some frustrations in features that I was expecting to be more fully fleshed out, such as workflows or ability to work on documents online without the lag of connecting with 365 and handling some of those handovers.

Turned a file sharing mess into an easy to use hub for our plants.

Opmerkingen: It cut down the time it took our workers to properly catalogue and upload video records. It also was easier to track down mis-labled records and put them where they needed to be. Having switched all our plants over to Sharefile, we are better able to view and respond to issues promptly. It's ease of use has left us with fewer errors in our documentation.

Pluspunten:

The web interface was easy to pick up on. We migrated to Sharefile from another large file sharing site that was falling short in what we needed for our multiple plants. Sharefile gave a central space to the large amount of video files we use for inspections and documentation of various equipment that we own and lease. Having a central space to record and track all inspections was fundamental to our business needs. What impressed me most about Sharefile was the cleanliness of the website and the ease of use that it exemplifies. It took less than an hour to get all our workers on board with the how to use the site and catalog our files.

Minpunten:

The only real down side is with the gross amount of folders we have, you have to wait for the page to populate when you reach the end of the first set. Enabling a manual shortcut (like typing in a folder name to take you to that folder) would be a great benefit.

A Good software to share files

Opmerkingen: Overall it's a very good tool and does everything a company requires. We have been sharing files and collaborating with the help of this tool making professional lives easier. It has a good cloud storage and is completely secured.

Pluspunten:

It's very easy to use and doesn't require any prior knowledge. The file synchronisation is very good and it allows us to share files anywhere. We can generate links of the files and send them as email. We can set access controls to each file and restrict others from accessing it.

Minpunten:

We can view zip files in read only format and is a drawback. The uploading speed of the files is very slow and needs to be improved. It is expensive when compared with other competitors out there.

Not great for collaboration

Pluspunten:

I use this platform when I want to store final versions of documents that I want to share with others, while controlling who has access in an easy to use way.

Minpunten:

In today's virtual environment, where online collaboration is essential, I find ShareFile to be cumbersome to use. For collaborative files, our organization turns to Google Drive (internal) and One Drive (for internal and external collaboration).

Citrix ShareFile simple interface makes it great for file sharing.

Opmerkingen: Citrix is the best option if you are starting to use file sharing softwares or works in a small company. It has a simple interface that is intuitive for the employees and the clients.
