Open source, clean and easy to use
The project is open-source and highly customizable to your own requirements. Documentation is available and really helpful. Fast and fluent. Clean UI design. Easy for building and testing your codes.
There is no direct way of contacting the chromium team, you can only discuss on forums. Lack codecs. PPAPI is not available. No auto-updates, requires manual updating. Cannot directly install chrome extensions
Chromium - an excellent modern open-source browser that even supports operating systems like FreeBSD
Opmerkingen: I have found Chromium an excellent browser for everyday use, but also as a development aid - it has excellent Dev Tools for debugging my web based applications.
Chromium is the open-source base of Google Chrome, as such it has all the features you would be used to such as the very useful Dev Tools etc. It also supports the rarer and more esoteric operating systems out there like FreeBSD.
The update cycle can be very frequent and at times it can be annoying to keep having to do these big installs over the top constantly (depending on what OS you are using).
An average browser when compared with the Big brands.
Opmerkingen: Overall its a light-weight version and can be used for basic browsing. It is an open source and the community is good enough. We have the options to restrict data, clear cache and cookies, and manage history and downloads.
The search engine is fast and it gives accurate results. We can download extensions and plugins. We can change the theme, background, etc. The incognito mode is helpful when browsing privately.
The software is slow when compared with Google Chrome. It lacks many features and customization options. The browsing speed is also a bit on the slower side. There are privacy and security issues too.
Chomium the "un-googled" Chrome alternative, mostly.
Opmerkingen: Software functions as one would expect for a high end web browser. You have full access to the google web store for your addons and themes. The quick and functional browser gives a solid alternative to firefox.
I love that it is based on the chrome standard so most all websites load quickly and properly.
I don't like the fact that google is still involved in the software package development. Google is hard if not impossible to trust with our personal data and this is yet another way they seem to get some info from you even if you don't want them to.
Almost all of Chrome's features, open source
Open source, built on powerful ubiquitous engine
Large application, often slow to run. A valuable backup browser though
