The memberships and appts and the boards are confusing to me. I have alot of different options and I have to do a "work-around" to get things to work.

Growing, developing company
Opmerkingen: It is worth it if you're paying for it, but it became much more difficult to find value in it in the basic plan

I recently had to downgrade due to change in my studio. What they promised me a few months ago ended up being incorrect by the time of my downgrade to the basic plan
Momence - A good health/wellness scheduling system!
Opmerkingen: Momence has been a fairly simple platform to use with quite a bit of functionality - scheduling , livestreaming, payment processing - for our health/wellness arm of the business

Extremely easy to use from the administrative side

Clients occasionally report glitches in payment processing as well as receiving links to class signups at the beginning of their payment cycle - this has been an ongoing issue and has always been resolved, but sometimes it has taken up to 5 days to resolve

Don't do it! Stay clear of Momence!
Opmerkingen: Stay clear as a small business! I've been trying to cancel my business account since October and was charged again today. I will now have to begin disputing charges on my credit card. There is no way to remove payment information, and when someone rarely responds to my request to cancel my business account, it is all talk and no action.
Pluspunten:
There isn't much to like. Although they were very responsive when I set up my business nearly two years ago, it was all downhill from there.
Minpunten:
There is a lack of support and customer service. There is no easy way to cancel a business account. I've been trying to get someone to cancel my account for two months. In the meantime, I keep getting charged monthly, and I'm no longer using it.

Momence would be great if they actually started listening to their customers
Opmerkingen: Momence oversold and underdelivered. in the 6-7 months we've been a customer its actually gotten worse for us bc they no longer offer phone support - so getting ahold of someone who can actually help usually means emailing the co-founder, who will reply with brief non-answers that basically translate to : yes we hear you, no we don't care.
Pluspunten:
clean interface is pretty much the only thing that's a pro, and the cons monumentally outweigh any pros. If you're considering momence, please for your time/sanity/wallets sake... DONT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM

i hate how clunky and non-custmizable the embeddable widget is - momence does not care that their widget isn't mobile friendly. I also HATE they force you to give them a backlink from your website to momence.com improving their SEO - we pay you $300 go buy your own backlinks don't force us to promote your product. The review generation sucks you can't customize the messaging or sequences sent for reviews so good luck getting your clients to leave reviews from the "automation" momence provides The CRM is even worse. They allow you to create custom fields for data you collect in your FB ads, but they DO NOT allow you to create custom fields in your email or SMS messaging - imagine how infuriating it is for us for example - we have a massage studio and when people respond to our ads they give us a prefered appt time - we have to MANUALLY reply to each one bc momence doesn't have features CRMS from 5 years ago have. Yes i've reached out to their team about this numerous times and from the bottom all the way to the co-founders, they have brushed off the suggestion. Oh - lead management? you're forced to manage leads in small batches - of course they provided a CSV IMPORT feature but no CSV export feature (probably bc they want to make it as difficult as possible for customers to leave) But bc of the limitations of their CRM today their support suggested the only way i can get to that data is to manually export data (since the lead management panel only shows a limited number of fields the task of exporting a months worth of leads so we can actually contact them the way we want to? that will literally take hours and hours and hours) Which btw, if you like chat support from overseas by people who are still learning english, you will LOVE momence. If you expect competent support from people who know and understand their own product? Yeah keep looking, momence aint it.

I chose momence because their features include sliding scale pricing, payment plans, and integrations with all our studio partners. Their customer service has been really great and responsive.
Minpunten:
It's a bit pricier than some other options, but for our 20 person studio it offers the perfect amount of features which have made our students stickier.

Good app but very slow and uninformed customer service lets them down
Opmerkingen: Customer service makes the whole experience deeply frustrating. They could introduce tiers of priorities for queries. And have at least one actual developer to hand. They could have extra VIP support for a fee... So much that could be done.
Pluspunten:
Easy-ish to set up and manage. Easy to embed on website. Basic immediate support for the easier questions. Regular features. Economical compared to most booking systems. Momence are constantly improving and changing things.
Minpunten:
Customer service are polite but they use a script and it is infuriating. They also have almost no understanding of the app or how it works. The answers they can give are very very limited. After spending a long time going round in circles explaining to them their own app, they then escalate it to the developers/. The developers usually take a week, or more to reply. This is of course of no use if you are running a class that day or have an event which needs marketing. Losing a week is a long time. The developers respond by email and if not resolved will take anything from a day to two weeks to respond. After a year I am being driven quite mad with this. The limitations on embedding on a website are problematic, You can only embed one type of class/ event per web page. So I am having to design my site around that. Momence are constantly improving and changing things, but this can often affect the price - hugely. Especially for smaller businesses like mine. So I have to keep an eye on this and find ways around some of their higher fees. They are catering less and less for roaming businesses, that don't have a permanent home.
BETTER options don't choose momence
Opmerkingen: Seems like customer service has no idea what to do. Has no idea how their system works. Until you get higher up or work with people who are on the manger side of things, good luck getting anything figured out through chat or email. Talk to a supervisor to get somewhere.

I like the texting and in app features. That is about all.
Minpunten:
We moved to momence because they "SOLD" us on we are so much better than wellness living. That won't happen here. Don't worry you will love this softeware more because its newer. Ever since we became customers it has been Thanks for your business, talk to you later. Billing issues, App issues, Software outages, Clients not being billed properly. Reports not working. Wish we would have stayed with Wellness living! At least the issues would have been the same and we would have been in the boat we are in without paying more for a system and software that we were told was better than WL. Don't recommend them. You get what you pay for and there are far better options than momence.
Go with Mind Body Instead
Opmerkingen: The reporting is terrible and for anyone running a business who needs to know their metrics this is not the software to buy. I own a small personal training gym and we are constantly trying to figure out workaround’s as I think the software must be designed for completely different businesses than the one I run. The reports are next to useless and there are so many metrics I am looking for that I cannot get access to.

Easy to get a chat agent. It’s a bit less expensive than if you go with one of the more established small business software providers
Minpunten:
Chat agents are often very unfamiliar with the software so it takes a long time to get and answer. In the several times that my issue has been upgraded to the Email team. I’ve been told they would be in touch with within the next few hours. To date I’ve never heard from anyone on the email team. I’m not sure if it even exists.
Worst company as it grows
Opmerkingen: Overal do not recommend if you make less than 100,000k USD per year. The application fees and the customer service is BS.

The company was great when they first started with very few hick-ups here and there. HOWEVER

ZERO Notice to changes in features in your plan. Requiring upgrades constantly. Requiring new upgrades while still charging application fees to the owner

Love this app! I use it to book yoga classes at my local studio and have never experiences an issue. Also the aesthetic is marvelous.

Poor software

Momence support is poor. Their staff are not well trained to resolve issues when they arise.
We also frequently get charged more than what is stipulated in our contract and have to contact them for refunds.
Pluspunten:
Momence is a rudimentary software for fitness businesses. They present themselves well and is simple to use if you don't have many clients or classes scheduled.
Minpunten:
over time there have been multiple issues and glitches in the software. They can take months to respond and with our latest issue, it has been 2 months with no follow up even though they have said it's been escalated and put on high priority. I hate to think how slow low priority is. With other software we have used, a late cancellation would usually mean a lost credit however, we have noted multiple clients who have been able to rebook with their credit after a late cancellation. We were also overcharged by over $10000 once which was another mess. I could go on and on with all the issues we have faced. Any pros are most definitely outweighed by the cons.

Great system appointment and health based features have some ways to go, and data migration approach needs significant improvement
Opmerkingen: I think Momence is a great tool, I think the team is great overall, and they are very attentive to customers needs and take on feedback. I think there is a higher focus on gyms and other event based businesses than appointment based businesses and a higher focus on fitness and "wellness" over health (e.g physios and medial massage) so something to consider. A couple of my leaves are 1) the payment processor fees are very high 2) the limited options for payment integrations and 3) no HIPCAS or HealthPoint health fund claims integration 4) subscription fees are in US so you are paying extra for that from concession fees 5) which I think has been the biggest let down by far was the migration. It's left a very bitter taste in my mouth, and I think the worse part is the lack of genuine care shown for how the gaps in the migration processes affects business owners, the lack of ownership of the gaping holes in the process and what seems like no desire to even consider reviewing the process for improvement.
Pluspunten:
I love the simplicity, the elegance of the app, the richness of features and the pace at which they make changes. I also love the availability of support both chat and phone. I love that the product and dev teams act on feedback quickly. I think its fairly well priced for the feature set and if they keep improving at the pace that they are then I'm looking forward to the future.
Minpunten:
The biggest draw back for me was the data migration. I'm utterly disappointed that 1) they did not disclose how limited there import approach was, in fact it was the opposite 2) it seemed like they let me put a tonne of instructions to gather to placate me, then they promptly ignored a lot of it 3) decision were made on my behalf (e.g. they imported my appointments as events, they showed the appointments payment as taken by the person that imported them on the date of the import rather that the original data) 4) the team didn't think to look at anomalies or confirm anything with me or do any data checks or reviews before committing the data it's been 2 months and my data is still useless. The thing the migration team did really well which I thank them for is consolidating duplicates and importing our gift cards.
Momence is on my winning team.
Opmerkingen: I have had a very positive experience with Momence. It took a bit to retrain my senior members to work the new platform when I switched from another product, but most people just coming into the experience say it is very straightforward and easy to navigate.
Pluspunten:
They are pro active at keeping the software updated and adding new features that enhance the customer experience and the admin experience.
Minpunten:
Sometimes I have to do a workaround if an instructor wants something that the software just isn't set up for. But I have always been able to find a workaround.
Beyond terrible experience
Opmerkingen: As others have noted, there are serious glitches and Momence “support” is entirely lacking. I have awhile left on my contract but will switch the MOMENT I finish demos and researching new options. Dealing with Momence is a small business owner’s worst nightmare. I reported an issue a week and a half ago and they refuse to help me. First they said it was resolved, second they lied and said it was my fault and third they said I had to fix the problem myself. They will respond to your inquiry after a few days, but they won’t help you. I felt like pulling my hair out and banging my head against the wall with the nonsensical responses I received. In all that time, they could have just fixed the issue! In addition to my waivers and membership contracts being lost with “signature outdated” (a feature they added without my knowledge or consent), I have had confirmation emails go out with the WRONG time (I mean, come on! That’s basic!) and I’ve had students show up to the studio for classes that happened on the past because they displayed incorrectly. Save yourself the headache and choose a competent company! Facebook groups in my field are filled with other users who have had similar and even worse issues with Momence. I can’t wait to be done with them.

Pluspunten:
I love the simplicity of Momence. There are no complicated interfaces - everything makes sense and is easy to set up and use. Momence has thought of almost everything you need to run a successful studio and has brought it together in one platform. This means there is no need for complicated 3rd party links to CRM tools or leads management software or a seperate video hosting platform for on-demand classes/courses. Momence puts you in total control of your client journey from prospect to member.
Minpunten:
I think Momence can do better in terms of client education. While I can find most of what I am looking for, sometimes the explanations are not overly detailed or don't have a business use case. This could be because they are continually innovating and improving their product. I can envision a "Momence Academy" with step by step guides of all the features and how they can benefit your business. I'm sure it's on the roadmap!

Yoga Studio Booking Software

Pluspunten:
I love all the features and fucntionality! Especially the integrated CRM that includes texting, email and staff reminders. The ability to create automated marketing sequences. The On Demand Video Library and easy livestream Zoom integration. The customized permissions that you can assign to teachers and staff. The review management funtion, leads integration, live chat support, marketing support and their mobile app. Momence was one of the only studio software that had everything we needed!
Minpunten:
The on boarding was a bit of a challenge. We had some issues with the transferring of data from our previous software and a couple bumps in the road on transition day. The software takes awhile to learn and is not as intuitive or user friendly as I would like for set-up and ease of use, but now that I'm more familiar and comfortable using it, I am very happy we made the switch.
New Momence - Pilates Studio User of 5 studios

We have been with Mindbody for more than 8 years, I hated mind body however thought it would be too hard to transition to another provider plus they would all be the same.
I was absolutely wrong!
The transition was tough, I wont deny.
However the benefits outweigh the transition. The ease of customer contacts via in-app messaging, contacting all clients on a class list, sms, emails and marketing contacts are amazing!
Then their customer service is fabulous, they are always there to help and also take your feedback on board and actually action feedback also.
Mindbody would NEVER do that, even when I have 5 studios!
If your thinking of finding a system that will help reduce admin hours and enable you to contact via one point of contact all retained in the Momence inbox, I highly recommend them.

Our data transition was a little rough moving from Mindbody to Momence, which I think is to be expected with 5 studios and large membership bases. Momence support team really did do their best and were always contactable through the period.
Be careful when using Momence

Momence is a great tool for running your yoga studio or fitness facility. The interface is easy to use and it was easy for clients to book their classes.
Minpunten:
Be very careful about the content you are uploading to Momence. When I signed up for their video on demand service, they never communicated to me that I could not redownload my content. Due to limited space, I deleted my original recordings (mostly classes recorded from Zoom). When I left Momence, I wanted to take that content back. They told me it “wasn’t possible”. I’ve never put content on a platform that didn’t allow me to download that piece of content. They snidely told me they “weren’t a cloud service”. I feel like they stole my intellectual property. Be careful if you’re using their on-demand to save EVERYTHING.

Sometimes the bookings arent instant on the admin side so people check in and we don't have their booking, but its not common

Looks promising, but the support is atrocious! For two months, I was repeatedly assured that the support team was investigating a simple issue. During this time, my business suffered significant losses due to a non-functional tracking feature. Despite their claims of "looking into it," there were no updates or evidence of any real effort. Maybe they prioritize bigger clients over smaller businesses? We don't make millions per year. If support matters to you, do NOT choose Momence. A non-technical friend resolved the issue in just 12 minutes – an easy fix that Momence’s technical team failed to identify after months of supposed investigation.

Not HIPPA complaint. We are integrating 3 companies into one and the onboarders are busy with other appts so sometimes we could use a longer onboarding meeting, but thats forcing me to make a complaint. i really dont have any - they have been AWESOME!

still figuring it out
Opmerkingen: help is available but can be passive agresive, especially when you are just learning their system. Help to a degree then they just send you to a video that doesn't always answer your specific question.
Pluspunten:
their chat support, but they do not have screen share option. So when you have an issue you can't just show them in a screen share. Video database, and zoom integration although this is a huge part of my dislike because it is glitching.
Minpunten:
cannot setup a class multiple days a week. If you offer the same type of class two or more days a week instead of being able to select M, W, F you have to set that class up three time's instead of once. Setting up a class takes forever! With so many options, that should just be a template... which they are finally coming out with. Duplicating recurring classes i ran into glitch's, we haven't even fully launched.
Momence is great does everything we need

learning curves with getting it set up - having to learn how to use it when it's not my expertise. it would be awesome if in the future there could be people on the Momence team or even a 3rd party team that can learn individual companies needs to help set up/check more of the complex parts.
Extremely happy and impressed with Momence

First and foremost, our customers prefer it over other software we have used. We spend far less time trouble-shooting client booking issues with Momence than with previous software. On the back end, we find Momence to be very user-friendly. Set-up was pretty easy; it took a lot of time because of the size of our operation, but we were fully supported every step of the way. The software is very intuitive so we really didn't need much support. We love the flexibility available in programming classes, events, appointments, retreats and semesters (series), and the options for how far out to display classes to the public separate from what displays to us on the back end. Momence combines in-person and virtual classes into one for payroll purposes, saving me a lot of time compared to WL. Analytics and Reports meet my business needs and they've been very responsive about suggestions for new reports. The marketing suite is great with tons of templates to use and options to build custom campaigns too. Support is super responsive and the techs all seem really knowledgable. I love this software.

There's not much that we don't like, which is why I'm writing this review after 6 months of use. I suppose I'd prefer it to cost less but I've learned that one gets what one pays for!
